  1. Does anybody happen to have an update on this great game out of AA? I'm looking for Corey Brewer of Portland to carry his team to a victory and a great 8AA rematch, Lipscomb and Portland.
  2. As a matter of fact, all but two of the Lipscomb starters live within 10-20 minutes of school (most within 5-10), well within local bus zones. The two that live outside that radius both have dads who have been on the staff at the school for 15-20 or so years. Now thats some good recruiting for you.
  3. Score was 42-0 until Lipscomb put in the younger guys. Then East Robertson broke a couple good runs and scored a few. Final score was 42-20
  4. hmmm.. Lipscomb by 28. who'd have thought this game would have turned out like that
  5. yes that score is correct. excellent game tonight out of both teams.
  6. Sweetwater the better team? I was at the game, and I seem to remember a 30-2 score. What would you base your statement of Sweetwater being the better team on? They could not even put points on the board; their only points came from a fluke Lipscomb special teams play where the ball went out of the back of the endzone for a safety. I'll admit that if the two teams lined up in a speed and strength contest that Sweetwater would quite possibly win, but it was obvious from watching the game that Lipscomb had the better TEAM. Could you please not make statements such as these without offering some kind of evidence to back them up?
  7. Yes, this game is definitely well worth your time if you're in the Nashville area come Friday night.
  8. Umm... I'm pretty sure Lipscomb trades game films with all the teams they play.

    2a top 4

I've checked with a few friends of mine, and 15 of 18 Lipscomb starters have been at the school since 5th/6th grade (with most there before that in early Elementary School). If I could figure out who the best players were gonna be at that age, I would have been made a coach a long time ago. And of the 3 that havent been there since then, one came in 7th grade, another in freshman, and the third as a sophomore. Oh, and by the way, the 2 most recent ones I believe are playing tackles on the offensive line at the moment, not exactly a skill position to recruit, unless you recruit guys who are 6-1, 220, and run a mid 5ish 40. If Lipscomb's recruiting, their recruiter needs to get a reality check. But anyway, enough rambling, this post belongs on the public/private debate board.
  10. Lipscomb won 20-7 with the first string. They played three quarters with ones, then 3 10-play offensive/defensive series with twos and down. It was a pretty good matchup.

    State Results

Will somebody please post the results of the Girls State Matches as they happen. I'm especially interested in the Doubles matches. Thanks, hsballguy
  12. keep an eye on Brittany Stewart from Lipscomb. she had a great performance in the District Teams, and is currently on her way to state in Individual Doubles with Lipscomb junior Leigh Ellen Bruce. good luck girls!

    Sweetwater???

So basically the same type of offense Baylor and Lipscomb ran against Tyner that they failed to stop.
  14. Lipscomb seems to have proven that their win over Tyner last week was no fluke. What do you guys think?
  15. tim i'm jsut busy wonderin how you know for a fact that gp is better than lipscomb? there havent been any good common opponents to compare the two with and anyone who was at the gp-dl game is pretty sure who kicked who all over the field. lipscomb outplayed gp and they outsmarted gp. if these teams meet again in the playoffs, i wouldn't be surprised with a very different outcome.
  16. Stinson has settled in as our starting quarterback and looks to be an excellent choice. Elrod will return somewhere around game 4. Santiago is going to be a very hard runner as well as an excellent linebacker. The O-Line should be one of the better ones we've had in recent years. Cutler is definitely our tailback starter and Madison seems to have made a great start at linebacker with 6 tackles and 4 assists
