  1. Westview will win this game. Not only do they have the homefield advantage, but they are eager to continue proving themselves as a powerhouse. Last week's win over Huntingdon helped this team tremendously. Markei Guy now stands with 851 yards in rushing. That pales in comparison with Dresden's Hewett at 650. I will say it again. Markei is unstoppable. He gets to the corners quick and turns upfield for 6. Michael Hobock also continues to move the ball well for Westview fighting relentlessly for each yard. Josh Rhodes will be back tonight in full swing. He is itching to return and will looking to pulverize Dresden's QB. Austin Kendall filled in for Josh last week and did a great job, giving him even more experience and determination to play tough ball. But Dresden's QB better be on his toes, before he knows it Rhodes will have plowed him over! The offensive line is clicking and stand tall with Cayce Mobbs and Mustafa Haddad leading the way. They are terrorists! Brandon Wilson has also been stepping up for the Chargers throwing some devastating blows to his opponents. He is just a sophomore! It's scary to think how much damage he'll continue to do the next few years. And, of course, let's don't forget Pate. He passing game continues to improve each week as he hits Cory Davis in the numbers for positive yardage. No doubt about it, this team is ready to rumble and taste the blood of victory again! Westivew: 49 Dresden: 14
  2. Yes, that is why we are so awesome! Cayce Mobbs, Brandon Pate, Michael Hobock, Austin Kendall, Mustafa Haddad, and let's don't forget...Markei Guy! I wish I could have seen your face and watched you eat your words at the game tonight. I told you they were fearless and out for the blood of victory! Come back to visit us anytime you want to get your parade "Reign"ed on!
  3. Holla, Reignydayz! Westview Chargers are #1!
  4. I don't think that anyone would ever say that the Mustangs would "overlook" a team intentionally. However, I do think that the Chargers have been underestimated this season, maybe not by Huntingdon (we'll know tonight), but by others they've faced this season. That is the beauty of this team. Being the underdog who has continually surprised their opponent is the motivation for this team. They are fearless. They have nothing to lose. Every week I've seen an improved Westview. I know that I will see an even more improved Westview tonight. Markei Guy is unstoppable. He is just warming up this season. After his injury during Crockett County in the first quarter, he has stepped up in speed and yards each game. He has over 570 yards in rushing in just 3 games! Michael Hobock also rushes well refusing to give up one inch. Sheer determination on his part. Cayce Mobbs and Mustafa Haddad are relentless. They tower and intimidate. And let's don't forget Brandon Pate who has made great strides in controlling the passing game. We saw this last week with Humboldt. This makes the Chargers well-rounded and formidable. And of course, we have Josh Rhodes and Austin Kendell that devour QBs for lunch. These two are devestating to a QBs psyche. I think our boys will give Huntingdon a taste of their own medicine. They are pumped and looking for another victory at home. Westview: 35 Huntingdon: 28
  5. This is a HUGE region game for both teams. Humboldt will be tough with so many returnees (7 on offense and 8 on defense), but Westview has the home advantage, and the win from last week has these guys in motion. They are pumped and out for blood. Markei Guy is unstoppable! He ran for over 280 yards last week at OC. He was as fast as lightning and moved with sheer determination. Not to mention, Ferocious Michael Hobock who always busts up the line for positive yardage. Humboldt's QB better watch his back because Josh Rhodes is ruthless and devestating on defense! He pulverizes QBs and eats them for dinner. Veterans Cayce Mobbs and Mustafa Haddad are powerful and a force to be reckoned with. If Westview plays offense like they did last week and defense like they did at Milan, Humboldt will not know what hit them. It will be the Chargers: 28-14.
  6. Westview wins: 27-7. Westview has been gaining steam since August. Their running game is clicking: M. Guy cannot be touched, and Josh Williams is tough. Defense is looking pretty good, too. They held Milan last week to 14 points, which is pretty impressive. Several key juniors have been stepping up the past two games. Josh Rhodes is sneaky and determined on defense. Westview has tremendously improved and thirsty for their first drawn blood of victory. I think Obion is in trouble tonight!
  7. Last year, Milan beat Westview...that was LAST YEAR! Milan has lost several key players and Westview has gained experience. Markei Guy is good to go (he only played 1 1/2 quarters of the Crockett County game). I am telling you; Westview will pull the upset!
  8. After last season, many Westview players forgot who they were, but after such a close call with Crockett County, they remembered who they were: Westview Football. The confidence gained from that game has set this powerhouse into motion. Milan better be prepared and not overlook this squad. I think it will be Westview by 6.
  9. Kudos to the Westview Student Section last night and Thursday night! You guys are really beginning to become THE INTIMIDATORS! I am so excited that each night in the Tourney you have gotten louder and more rowdy! Keep it up!
  10. Good Luck, Lady Chargers! Remember Philippians 3:13-14. Bring home the gold ball! Kendall, Meghan, Amanda, Christie, and Selena- You've worked extremely hard the past few years! Make this one count!
  11. Westview's best chance is to play at home! McMillian does a great job of taking care of the girls when they travel and does his best to keep them focused, but it is Memphis. Anytime that a team must travel to a new place there are certain adaptations that muat occur. If Westview can remove that element from the overall equation, it is only to their advantage. Do not underestimate the power of home court advantage.
  12. The last three meetings of these two teams have come down to a margin of one, two, or three points. There will be no room for freshman mistakes of fumbles, missing catches, etc. This will be an extremely close game that will be given to the team who is better prepared and plays better ball. With all that said, I have to back my boys. They have started off a little slow this year, but who wouldn't losing 15+ Seniors. The 2002 Chargers have used the past two weeks to iron out the wrinkles and get rid of the jitters. The Chargers are starting to click. The defense is ready for Huntingdon's three running backs and the offensive line has begun to really figure things out. The Chargers will come out on top tonight.
