  1. If I had not of graduated from FR I would stick with the Bears against the Lady Vols....speaking of which, if Becky Brown could have "defied gravity" last year, the Honeybears would have beat the Lakers...........ROLL PRIDE!
  2. You have to be at "ludicrous speed" if you think for a second that Father Ryan students are'nt the classiest.....uh, mabey not. Well, uh....mabey, uh....Father Ryan might be O.K. in wresteling this year....that's what I meant.
  3. I believe the new coach for Harpeth Hall is the same coach they have for volleyball (and we all know what she has done for them). I think she seems to work well with her players, and has thier confidence....that being said I'll still take the Irish in a close one. Let me say this about that however, last year Father Ryan lost one of the top players in the state in thier 3rd or 4th game. If that were to happen to say.....a Kristen Archie, my beloved Lady Irish would probably be looking at a 2nd or 3rd seed come state. Here is to a blessing that ALL players in d2 or d1 stay healthy all year.
  4. For goodness sakes man, how come Father Ryan did'nt make this li......sorry, wrong thread. Oh, and since I'm here already how bout' I throw in kudos for BA, at least one more team from D2, and those kids from Goodpasture (I've got a feeling they are top 20 in state at worst).
  5. Not so fast my friend...I know we've covered the middle somewhat, but I believe the Lady Irish should get the nod over HH, mostly because they have great senior leadership coming back (as well as talent), and also because I believe they have beaten the Honeybears 5 straight years for the region title. This rivalry seems a lot like the one between these two schools in volleyball, there have been many times people have predicted HH over Ryan yet the Lady Irish have won 4 or 5 straight regions in that sport as well. I hear the mighty Honeybears have a great squad this year so it looks like another Ali vs. Frazier....GO IRISH.....oh, and sorry to dis' the rest of you cool cats in D2 middle....best of luck to you ladies. p.s. This face is the way I feel after Ryan's Archie steal's the ball and takes it to the hoop!!!
  6. go irish [Edited by frhsrules on 11-4-02 1:43A]
  7. hey unc fan...go wolfpack and eat some bluedevil dust...as far as you going off on an innocent community like soddy or even swain county nc....get this...your about as cool as the top side of the pillow after nc state spanked your pathetic f-ball program earlier this year....i'm not sure i'm in to voting for female wrestling...but if the demand is genuinely there, then those ladies deserve to be appeased...and as far as it being a freak show....loser, if you saw one of these girls kick a boy (who could probably kick your butt) in a wresteling match...you might want to cut this athelete some serious respect....or perhaps you think you are better and more intelligent.....unc is a good school....but for a really good breed it's marginal at best.....welcome to lowly tennessee you wanabee...oh, and go blue devils, we're sorry we have to play second rate citizens like you (but it makes us realize trailer-trash...can really act like humans from time to time)....c-ya idiot boy
  8. i agree with you on the scratched out concept....even though i pull for the irish, there is no doubt we would do well to get where we did last year....i agree with the more open minded writers in this thread...it will be anyone's tourney....go irish.....and watch out for lady irish softball
  9. that's really my only problem with the lion kid....it's obvious he means peace, but he comes out with these "a matter a fact" statements that are often contradictory to his original open minded premises...which really belittles his statements unless he updates a score....go lionkid...step up like a big dog (kind of like your HA girl's).
  10. disagree with 23mom wildcat and lionkid [Edited by frhsrules on 11-1-02 3:10A]
  11. no post see next post for "contained" opinion [Edited by frhsrules on 11-1-02 3:12A]
  12. were there any ryan girls on the elite squad? and if so how did they do 2shooter4......thanks, go irish [Edited by frhsrules on 10-31-02 12:33A]
  13. i know the irish have some wins (can hiller win his class), but it seems mba wins again in this rivalry that as an irish grad, does'nt really feel like one. in other words, mba has a fine wrestle program but they blow histoically to the irish and mccallie.....i think we will iron things out in a year or two....but who wins this year RYAN VS. MBA ????? ps....how is the former father ryan student doing as coach for the big red??????
  14. when ba's coach signed up to play jp2 earlier this year, there was no question he could have named a score...he classily kept things from getting out of hand...both christian brothers and mba could have done the same the past 2 weeks.......both teams only scored one td in the second half(they pretty much called off the dogs)...here's hoping ba does the same...ba 56 ryan 14...at this point i consider that a mercy prediction
  15. ezell is enough to know that i better show respect....i'm an irish fan...and regardless of what ba lost...we have our hands full
  16. congrats Archie...i saw you on the fox 17 sports recap after you beat hh in regions last year...your really cute and seem to have a great attitude...have a great year...I'll be wathching....GO IRISH
  17. i'm a huge irish fan but fact is...harpeth hall's Nancy Sisk is a lights out shooter and fierce copetitor. She scored 34 in a game as a freshman...she'll be a junior this year. i played her in a game of horse when she was in 8th grade, she would'nt stop draining 3's, i was out after 10 shots....d2 special...Father Ryan's Archie vs. harpeth hall's Nancy Sisk
  18. i did hear however that the lady irish have a young center/forward named volk who might give them some inside presence...they'll need it against harpeth hall's traditional trees they have under the goal...but i'm thinking the irish may beat the honeybears again in regions...state will be up for grabs. unfortunately last year none of the press gave the lady irish more respect for winning the regions against a very good hh team (the irish lost thier leading scorer and one of thier top defenders at the begining of the season...that cost them the state title)
  19. good job everbold...i thought the report by stallion was somewhat shakey.......i still admit that the irish get a little fired up from time to time, but we still kick butt in an overall sense on the high school level. [Edited by frhsrules on 10-19-02 10:06P]
  20. I'm a Ryan grad and very proud of it. Our school has enough spirit to give vandy a chance at beating miami in football. We do however, let this spirit go to far too often. I am guilty of going too far when I went to Ryan...and people (lots of them) followed me. The kids at Harpeth Hall are raised much different than those at Ryan and the large majority of all schools (if you say butt they say:he said the b word). H. Hall are no angels, they are just programmed to stay out of trouble....when you have a lot of money, you have a lot to lose...go irish
  21. the irish's pilkerton and archie are at least the tops of d2
