Money could be a reason. I think it was to win a state championship and avoid Alcoa. I just was wondering how the best programs would do if they played at the highest level . I know a school can move up as many classes they want.

I keep seeing metro teams ranked weekly on here. Antioch appears to be the best team because of their schedule and level of play (6A). I understand level of play is based on school enrollment, but I know that does not translate into quality or number of players on the team. That being said why do East and Pearl-Cohn continue to play at a lower level and dominate. I would like to see how they would do at 5A or 6A , then they could truly declare themselves the best programs in metro. Just a thought. Could it be they are not quite as good as wins show.

I have seen good coaches win with talent ,I have seen bad coaches win with talent, but I have never seen any coach win with bad talent.

That being said, would East be 5-0 with Simpson as coach and would Maplewood be 0-5 with Harris as coach?

So why did he not go? So Simpson would not have gotten job?

How so when Simpson was DC on staff?

Overton home bleachers have been determined to be unsafe and not to be used. Other Metro schools going to be facing this ?

With the offense that most teams run now I agree a really good QB is needed. Most schools try to run an offense that is not really suited to their talent, but that is all most coaches know now. Oakland is impressive to me because they win without a great QB and he has more running backs than receivers and understands the run game. Most coaches have no knowledge of the run game blocking. Most only know zone scheme .

I just think it is sad that fans get all upset so quick and point fingers at coaches. They did not lose to poor teams.

Wow! That didn't take long. Two very close games. Probably will lose some more this year. All about players. Cody White won two state championship games off a player making plays when nothing was there. Jerimiah Oatsvall won those games and I am sure the call was not Jerimiah " Do Something and score".

Seeing more games being pushed to later start times. Have not seen metro games yet.

Some games have been moved to 8 pm start due to heat. Any word metro will do this?

I agree. I just wanted to see what thoughts were. I wish no school would have to discontinue football. I don't see anyway to get metro back to where all schools can have a competitive program with decent number of kids playing. Very sad.

I am going to defend and even agree with him. As for the wrestlers, they will be fine. I do know he was not going to be considered or get an interview. Yes, the admin can choose who they want. My point was they will not get a better man to coach their football program. I still do not think he bashed BA badly. Just simply said he was frustrated and time to move on. Also, I am not in advanced years.

It means to be faithful to a cause, a person, a value, a team, a brand, etc. What Exactly is the Meaning of Loyalty? In a team, the word ‘loyalty’ has several connotations. The team members have to be loyal, and so does the leader. Sad that loyalty is a one-way street in coaching and marriage. When a coach or person has done all can to give of themselves for a school or another and that loyalty is not returned, I don't know what a person is to do. I still read no bashing other than statement of frustration. Class does not quit, but the school or person quits on you, how does that work? Think of this? You come home and find the person you have made a commitment to and find them in a compromising position. So, you are not to leave or quit but continue what you started by going in another room and wait for dinner. For most of us posting on a social media outlet would be least of our worries, waiting for police and criminal charges would be next.
