  1. Hey wolfie: Grad has played more ball than you can ever dream about. Let's just say he has a very strong interest in what he talks about. A legit interest and that's all you need to know about it. With only 12 posts you need to just stick around and read and learn. Grad, I need to talk to you. I'm in the book, give me a call.
  2. Ballard High School, Louisville Ky, linebacker, class of 73.
  3. I would say it has to do with John Allen.
  4. Team Mom: We love watching those boys. Along with O'Dell, those are the only 4 we know from our boy's days. After this year we may not see any games. The end of an era!
  5. Remember, he said most not all.
  6. Yes they lost their qb. What was the score of the RB vs SD games the last 3 years? So even with Fabry, how well did they do? Anybody have those scores? I can't believe anyone is even discussing RB having a chance!
  7. Red Bank to score 7,or 10? They only scored 3 against 3A AE! How in the world will they score on SD defense. Are u guys saying AE has a better D than SD? I didn't think so.
  8. That student from SD that started this, is a bench warmer on the basketball team. He started some crap on here last year about a former football/baseball player and got a real "beatdown" and doesn't have Coach Blue to save him again. You would think he learned something last year. As for the rest of you, don't you think it's time to move on. Yes, even you adults.
  9. Hicks has looked at Temple and Bryan College. It sounds like he is leaning towards Bryan.
  10. It was probably Albert "Bert" Gertz.
  11. Everyone keeps forgetting about Matt Hicks. Led SD in average last year and can hit the long ball.
  12. No one has mentioned Matt Hicks at Soddy-Daisy. I believe he had the highest ave. on last years state tournament team.
  13. Brian Kelly "vanished" after the school year last year, he was a no show for the baseball banquet too. Austin Dobbs is at Texas A & M, but decided not to try out for the baseball team. Of the 5 SD seniors last year only Phelps and Boron are playing baseball. Phelps signed a scholarship at Southern Poly, in Marietta, and Boron walked on at Centre in Danville, Ky. Boron is also playing football there.
  14. Well I was at the game .I heard there was a fight in the Hixson stands . It was a black kid in a gray sweatshirt named Ray, flailing away on somebody. Mr. Swafford got in the middle of it to stop him.It appeared he took some punches, too. Then I saw McNeil trying to pull Ray away. He was trying to stop the fight from what I saw. I don't believe that Ray is his brother. He goes to Sequoyah Voc. ,but he's from Howard. He comes to Soddy to catch the bus to Sequoyah in the morning. He also shoved the police officer. In my opinion , he should have been cuffed and arrested right then and there. The only thing I saw Russel do is pull the kid away and have some words with Mr.Swafford. Then his mom pulled him away and Russ's dad took Ray out of the stands. That is what I witnessed. I don't know if this Ray is the same kid who started a fight one morning at Soddy a couple of weeks ago. If it is, he needs anger management! The officiating was horrible again. Well, really there was only one ref who made all the bad calls or ignored calls he should have made.
  15. Coach I: You left a life long mark on a lot of young men in your short time at SD. The last of "your hogs" will graduate next year but the stories of Coach I have been passed on to the little piglets. Yes we were all sorry that you couldn't stay, it would have been icing on the cake to have you there now, with Coach Weathers. Who can forget your leading the team headfirst into the mud (?) after a game. Those kids would have jumped in front of a train for you. Good luck to you.
