    DII Duals

Naw, my guess is that the brackets will look extactly like 2003. We will get Notre Dame, but I don't think that will be any easier.
  5. Bray, you may be the most posted coach on coacht in history. Don't you ever teach????? Thanks for the bleachers.

  7. One time? You have 67 posts. Get off here L
  8. brothersboy is not a Christian Brothers student. You can check their previous posts to find out who it is. I don't recall anyone claiming on here that CBHS is great or the best in the west or anything along those lines. Some of you, Jose, were quick to jump to conclusions. Good luck to all in the region 8 or X. I am sure you will make West Tennessee proud.
  9. It is not too late to take the two percent appeal. Go to www.tssaa.org click on forms, then wrestling, and Parental and Doctor permission forms. Get it filled out and signed by all parties and then mail it or fax it to TSSAA. Make sure to put your schools name on the form
  10. It's alot of fun to play with how this would turn out and everyone is entitled to his opinion. A couple of quick facts from last season: Mike Marable CBHS beat Meredith at the G.P. West Tournament 8-3, Campbell did not make the finals Justin Saint CBHS (5th in DII at 215) beat Bailey from Bradley 20-10 during the season
  11. CBHS Results: CBHS 71, Bolton 8 (pool) CBHS 35, Rossview 33 (pool) Clarksville 36, CBHS 29 (pool) CBHS 45, Kenwood 24 Soddy-Daisy 54, CBHS 25
  12. If memory serves, Keller beat Nick 15-3 and Gibson won last year 10-3 or 4.
  13. If Sweet is going to go 152 in state, he has a way to go. He weighed 169.7 on Tuesday. If your sources knew anything, they would have known that Nick weighed 162 before our Collierville match on Dec. 9 and that he wrestled 160 at the Cape tournament, so I am confused as to why the TG thought he would be at 171? Also, if they so desparately wanted Sweet to wrestle Marable, don't you think they would have had him at 160 and bumped him up if Marable was at 171? We have always moved for Nick to wrestle the best, he cut to 135 to wrestle Keller when he was a Freshman and moved up to wrestle Gibson last year. I think that it is terrific that Sweet is ranked in Minnesota, good luck to him this season. As I previously stated, we just wrestled 7 matches in about 36 hours in Cape Girardeau. By the way, Marable won the Cape Tournament by defeating Bobby Conn of Marquette in the Finals. Conn is ranked 8th nationally and has signed with Missouri. He has and will continue to be pushed. We head to the Oakville Duals in January with Mater Dei, Mt. Carmel, Park Hill, and Farmington. The reason we bumped in the Grissom match was to try to win the Dual, when we reached 160 we were up 10-4, I was hoping to get a win at 60 and another at 71 with Nick, but it didn't work out.
  14. Yeah, it would have been a good match between Marable and Sweet and I am sorry that you feel that you might have been cheated out of your $5, but the reality is that Nick is a 160 lber and has worked hard to get to that weight and to move him up to that weight for the Totino-Grace people just wasn't in the cards. We wrestle a tough schedule and Nick gets plenty of competition, we had just returned from the Cape Tournament where most of our wrestlers got 7 to 8 matches in 2 days, it made little sense to bump him up. It was my call.
  15. Yes, we are at a distinct disadvantage because of the weight program. In the Missouri Tournament this past weekend our wrestlers were dwarfed by the wrestlers from Missouri. After our 130 lber lost it the semis, I spoke with the coach from Ste. Genevieve and he told me the kid was weighing 161 during summer wrestling. It was the same last weekend at the Cleveland Duals, with the Collins Hill team and, in fact with Grissom. The Grissom team had numerous wrestlers that had dropped a weight class from the week before at the Black Horse Invitational, something that most of our wrestlers cannot do. The Missouri coaches were interested in our system because the scuttle there is that they may adopt a similar system next year.
  16. Not much to say, Collierville fought back from a big deficit and won. They whipped us. No, we did not wrestle MUS tonight.
  17. At CBHS Collierville 39, CBHS 29 125 Josh Robinson © beat Matt Mathney 13-4 130 Josh Baucke © pinned Kip Packer 1:09 135 Sean McLaughlin © beat David Hunt default 140 Josh Riddle © beat Josh Rehder 10-0 145 Shawn Speroff (CO) beat George Harmon 20-5 152 Ryan Cullen (CO) pinned Ryan Barnett :29 160 Michael Jennings (CL) beat Colton Kropp 15-12 171 Nick Marable © pinned Chad Lindahl 3:55 189 Daniel Powers (CO) beat Anthony Hugoboom 9-2 215 Brett Rogers (CO) pinned Kevin Feltus 5:46 275 James Lindow (CO) pinned John Lyons :36 103 Kent Johnson (CO) beat William Alsobrook 8-0 112 Blake Britcliffe (CO) pinned Carter Watson :50 119 Chris Tisdale (CO) beat David Carney 7-3 Nice job by Collierville, congratulations to Coach Cottrell
  18. Thank you, my man. Good luck this year, c'ya in January.
  19. No, I would not put alot of stock in where Ridgeway finished in the Black Horse. They are a good team that was missing a few wrestlers this weekend. But that is not that unusual for this time of year as wrestlers SLOWLY descend to their weights, or are injuried, or ill. Time will tell who is best in the west. As we all know, duals in December don't show the whole picture. Houston looked good this weekend. Germantown has improved and has some tough wrestlers, Collierville is good and I think Bolton will be as well. The DII schools looks much improved as well. Nice pick up by MUS getting Coach Henricks, he has always built good programs (Millington and Bolton). Carlo Pirani and the boys from Benedict are much better and Coach Nutt has them going at Briarcrest. Should be a very fun and interesting year. Good matches coming this week as Houston takes on Ridgeway and we (CBHS) wrestle Collierville Thursday. Always fun and should come down to the wire in some early season clashes. Kudos to the men at Houston, well run tournament and we enjoyed it. Oops, forgot to mention the tough Cordova kids....sorry
  20. Really it was a question of economics. We just can't travel as much this year, we had to cut from 6 to 4 out of town tournaments and the bus cost is the same. We are staying home this year and wrestling in the Black Horse (Houston) invitational. We always enjoyed the Kenwood Klassic and Coach Masters and the little rivalry that emerged there. We will be back to Clarksville for the Kenwood "Big Mike" Duals on the December 29.
  21. The CA will print them, all you have to do is email them in sports@commercialappeal.com In the proper format Example: At CBHS CBHS 40, Helais MO 32 103 William Alsobrook © beat Carter Watson 12-1 etc.
