  1. It will take us longer to drive over there than to end this game. Sorry but it's true. WH by 4 TD's.
  2. I don't care what teams you like. I'm just wondering why you are so against WHH when they are not in the same classification? What I think is a shame is that kids in "your" hometown had nothing to do with the school they are zoned for, and yet they are considered adversarsies. Maybe you prefer to have WHHS be some big school the size of Hunters Lane and all that entails? Some people just like to dislike I guess. Again it's a shame. Being FOR the kids is more important to which side of the road someone lives on, or what color shirt they wear. But that's just the way I was born and raised...in WHITE HOUSE. This is my final statement on this subject on this thread. Back to football, I wish White House Heritage all the luck in the world. Hope you go undefeated. Make the City of White House proud.
  3. Gosh as a WHHS alumni, that attitude makes me cringe. I can't believe this "junk". How many years will this go on? I grew up with the threat that one day the school system might split. I grew up in Sumner County, and was friends with kids from both counties because they lived in WHITE HOUSE. These kids from Robertson County can't help what was decided in the name of school budgets and money! The ones that are moving in to Robertson County don't have any clue as to why their school is treated like a step-child, and the ones moving into Sumner are programmed by the ones that think this town isn't big enough for both of us to dislike WHH. That is ludicrious. Yes, I'm proud of the Blue Devils success but I am also proud that WH Heritage is doing well and I pull for them also. White House is growing and has the capacity for two schools (or else we would be in 5A by now and getting our butts kicked by the likes of Riverdale), and I look at the fact that the color blue was chosen in the thought of Patriots are usually red, white and blue. If they choose to make blue their primary color, who cares? Did you ever think that maybe it is a respect thing for White House's 'known' colors? Or even if not, WHHS doesn't OWN the color. Look at Lebanon, Marshall County, or even the Titans (heaven forbid!)...WHHHS has as much right as the rest of us to have pride also. Do you not think that Portland, Greenbrier, Pearl Cohn, Beech, or every other school doesn't have pride? WHHS didn't corner that market, sorry. Yes, I am a WHHS alumni and fan. Yes, at one point when I was a kid, I guess I thought the world revolved around the Blue Devils. But then I grew up and realized that life doesn't end at the city limits and there is room for diversity in all areas of life. Including football. I am sorry for the ones who still hold resentment for WH Heritage. White House Pride should be for both schools. (If you don't like my comments, so sorry. I ain't the one with the problem.)
  4. Well, I know the truth 'bout him. He was up there in a stream panning for gold to pay for Vanderbilt and those fish jumped in that boat!
  5. Where's the regular Greenbrier posters? Not much discussion this week.
  6. I find that not only coaches sometimes compare teams, but most of all the fans compare teams. They start the year with the preconception that the incoming team will be great, or might not be as good, but their expectations of having a winning team in good years, or a losing team after a bad season follow the NEW team that should be allowed a new "dance card". What the fans forget is that is that the new team before them does bring new pluses--and sometimes new minuses. But EVERY team has that. The teams that were strong last year aren't necessarily the same this year. We lived that last year--after making it to Memphis, we started out 0-3 last year; for years, Greenbrier has had the title and now are trying to find their strengths again; Station Camp finished low last year, and now some of us dread playing them. Even though it is hard, we need to realize the difference in teams, just as we would realize the difference in our own children. As long as any child, any player, any team has a strong support system in parents, friends and fans, no matter what the scoreboard reflects, they will NEVER lose.
  7. If I know Kirk Williams, this will be the beginning of another winning stretch. He can get this team to do what needs to be done. A win right now will build some confidence I believe with the guys that now are the starters. This one is a must cause it only gets tougher from here. Good luck Bobcats.
  8. Now even Tim would think that wuz funny.
  9. Something must be magical about that Greenbrier water. You say it's blue, sometimes brown, and I heard it costs almost so much you'd think it's golden Are you sure there's not a little "sump'n special" in that stuff?
  10. Playing at David Lipscomb can be a little nerve-wracking for Greenbrier players who haven't started there before, but I think the fact that the Bobcats have already won two in a row over DL will have just as much affect on the Mustangs psyche. These are both tough defenses, so offense will make the difference in this game. I foresee a low scoring affair, but I think in the end the Bobcats will tack on #3. I hope so anyway.
  11. And I thought that green stuff was from the Tydebol. I watched the internet clip of that game last night. And I can see that Greenbrier's defense is back. And I liked the passing. Looks like you have some receivers that are focused, especially the one that took the hit and held on to the ball. Tate is a great player when he gets loose. Take the experience from PJP2 game and put that to some use with Elrod and his gang. I think you're gonna put #3 on the books Friday night. But, remember they just lost to Goodpasture and that along with two losses to GB is gonna make DL ready for blood. Good luck next week, Bobcats!
  12. I expect this one to be a heavy hitter from the White House point of view. Page will have to step up big time to stop the Blue Devils from making this the beginning of a rough ride for them. And I just don't expect that to happen. I look for the Blue boys to shut out the Pats.
  13. Keep a box of Dunkin Donuts on hand. It's not "technically" considered a bribe.
  14. This problem can easily be solved. All you radical lawbreakers, er..I mean Bobcat fans need to do is find someone to fund a Waffle House in Ridgetop. We have one here. And it does the trick. Sometimes.
  15. These boys mean business. They are establishing that there is another team in town, and they look like they are going to add to the football atmosphere in football in a bigtime hurry. Ain't nobdody holding this team back. You have to see it to believe what a few years can grow. Go get'em Pats
  16. Greenbrier's Bobcat Field has been around for literally ages. Thankfully the bleachers are no longer wood, but until you get there you can't appreciate the way that little community turns out for thei Bobcat football team. The town has been growing, but hometowners, and oldtimers find their way back for football. I've seen the field lined four or five deep and people standing at the end zones looking through the fences. It's small-town football at it's very best. I recall a line said in the game last year by one of the announcers for Comcast. It was something like "Friday night football in Greenbrier and everybody's here". You'd better believe it. Good luck Cats. We're waiting our turn.
  17. I agree with that. It's almost that time of year when every Friday night is a suspense-thriller. I am not into that "streak" mentality that some go on about here. Both the Bobcats and Blue Devils won against each other last year. Each game had two different acheivements. I think the Devils and Bobcats are a reflection of each other year after year. Both teams are good, well coached teams that have become well-known for their tough play. I personally am anxious to see what both teams can do with no Ladd and no Herndon. Good luck to both teams.
  18. Greenbrier will have to overlook Tim, he's obviously got issues of nightmares about Bobcats. Congrats to the Bobcats girls softball team. The Green & White has made big noise in just about every sport they play. Don't worry about lil ole Timmy....he just can't stand it. Not every White House fan thinks like him, and it's sad if he thinks they do. Again, good going Cats. Better luck next year.
  19. Good post. If the players are okay with last night, and can move on, then so should the fans and parents. We're not whiners. We're usually winners. Last night just wasn't our night. Again, good luck to ND the rest of the way.
  20. Tim, I thought I saw a post from you at 3:30 yesterday and I remember wondering why you didn't go. Must have been a great one to watch.
  21. Couldn't make it to Chattanooga due to a hacking cough...but I sit here and listened to the game all the way through. White House had a great game leading until the last few minutes and Notre Dame came in a heartbreaking defeat. The final score ND 14-WH-13. Way to go Jake Hunter! You made the big difference. You've had a great season boys. White House has got nothing to be ashamed of. You gave a great effort. Good game Notre Dame. Good luck the rest of the way.
  22. Someone with the website/radio crew from White House needs to remind the crew that the radio is ON and chit-chat conversations are being broadcast over the internet. The best I can tell with BAD reception is White House is 13 at the end of the 3rd. I can't understand what ND's score is but I THINK WH is ahead.
  23. Two of todays articles that I found interesting: http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...=11721&game_id= http://www.gallatinnewsexaminer.com/apps/p...003/1311/MTCN04
  24. Please don't start again, Titans89. Do you mean Danny Hale?
