  2. Just wondering How many are upper classman, and are any of the players mention getting looks from D1(FBS) schools. Looks like a group of upstanding young men. Thanks for the time.
  3. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> These last three games of the year are going to be measuring stick games for Cascade. The focus on Friday has to be all on stopping Nashville Christian. Good thing is both teams run a lot of wing-t, so it could come down to an early defensive battle. But depth and talent all ways rise to the top so I say Cascade pulls away in the 2nd half. An early start would be great but I don't see that happening. Weather could be a huge factor in this one. One thing is for sure the buck sweep is going to be in full force. Good Luck Champs on your second half surge. Speaking of a Second half surge: MTSU is still alive in the Sun Belt. So go out and support them this Saturday as they take on Arkansas State at 2:30. Check out the new Blue Tube big Screen Go Big Blue!
  4. You are right that is one of the many reasons why playing in a ten team region is good and bad. Good because you don't have to worry about scheduling ( you already have 9 games booked) Bad thing is, if it is a bad thing, you have to do a lot of looking to find that other team. With most teams in the region having to find a Week 0 and Week 1 game. In this situation you have created a common opponent situation to occur, hence the "Houston County Factor", with Houston County playing two team from in the region, White House-Heritage & McEwen, both team's won, but White House-Heritage scored 11 more points, heck that could become a factor. Plus throw in Forrest game with Riverside Christian and Nashville Christian playing Scottsboro Christian, ( Also in MSFC with Riverside) who may or may not count in the a tie breaker situation, ( still reading the by laws, man there is a lot) if it comes down to Forrest and Nashville Christian vying for a playoff spot(s) WOW lots of things can happen. So all the players an coaches can do is take care of business on Friday Night!
  5. Riverside Christian plays in the newly formed Mid-South Football Conference here is the website ,http://www.lancasterchristianacademy.com/midsouth.html, you got to click and paste. This league includes Lancaster Christian (Smyrna), The King Academy (Seymour), Scottsboro Christian (Alabama), "Nashville Christian played them week one or zero", Saint Andrews-Sewanne, and the only public school is Pickett County( I think they are just starting up a team this year) Pickett County is pretty good in basketball ever year. I believe non of these schools are TSSAA playoff eligible. I could be wrong I will have to do my home work on that one. Yet they should be able to play an 11th game the the TSSAA permits for non playoff teams, aka a bowl game to be played prior to the opening round of the playoffs for a varsity team. The website offers standings for all the teams, and I have to say it looks really good. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Not so fast Grasshopper, It may not be wise to awake a sleeping giant from his slumber. Let time past like sand through an hour glass these are the days of our lives. Or in other words Cascade has to become the hunter not the hunted. This is coming from a big Cascade fan. The Patriots scare me to death and Eagleville has payback on their minds, and J.B's is still King of the Hill( for now). As along as Cascade plays Cascade Football the rest will fall in place. The second half is going to be a tough road to go, but I believe in this team. I believe.
  7. Nashville Christian is a Wing-T team for the most part! Kinda like the Champions. On occasion they will line up in Pro I. N.C. wing-t is very similar to the Lipscomb Campus School. The B (FB) and A (TB) line down in a three point stance and C (WB) is in a two point stance oppisite of TE. I think the coach from eagleville is right, they will attack the edges that is what most wing-t teams do, they attack the edges then bust you up the middle with the FB, or counter with the wing back. But i have only seen two of their games so hey they may spread out the eagles tonight. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  8. I think Nashville Christian is the biggest suprise from last year. Their head coach has a renewed commit to winning an those young men have risen to the challange layed before them. Look out for Nashville Christian in weeks to come. I think it is to early to tell who have been disappointed thus far. 1st half of the season is just about to come to an end. It will take a few more games before I can point out a big disappointment. This best part of this is that more than likely one or two teams will come out of the region with winning records and not make the playoffs. So hopefully these teams can get a invite to a bowl game. I like the idea of having 5 to 6 teams play at least 11 games. It will only make the region better. In my opinon Region 5-1A is like the Big East, a good mix of old, and some thing new, hands down we can play ball in 5-1A. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  9. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Cascade 11, Saw a 30 year Team Shirt at the MTSU WKU game. Was wondering if you have them for sell on the website or are they a school sponsored product. They look great! Any information would great thanks.
  10. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> LOL, you forgot "BROTHER"- Hulk Hulgan, aka Hollywood Hogan. I am actually a Rick " Nature Boy" Flair guy but I love the post!
  11. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I didn't have an 0-10 but I did have a 1-9 and 2-8 during my playing days. Then that magical year of 1997 happened. ( Coach Kenny and Coach David Came) And we went 7-4 and won two homecomings, (Ours, and Forrest 19-0) and maybe one other but I can not recall who, Wait a minute we are talking about 2007, I want make a pick on this game to much can happen when you play your cross county rivals. I can recall in Basketball both teams could have losing seasons and the stands would be full. I had family who played at community and let's say family reunions were big for bragging rights during our high school days. So I am sure there is a hand full of kids at both schools who will be up for this game and ready to play. Good Luck to both Teams on Friday and the rest of the season. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Speaking of Big Rivals MTSU plays Western Kentucky at home in what should be a long and heated rival. Make the drive down to the Boro and cheer on the Blue Raiders or watch them on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.
  12. Cascade Eagleville McEwen MTCS Jo Byrns MTSU vs LSU battle of the State Schools, I think if MTSU wins they should become University of Middle Tennessee, like Memphis. Grow Blue!, Grow Not Go, The new marketing slogan for season tickets sales.
  13. Cascade 11, Don't let these poster get to you! If the kid is as good as everybody is saying, he will get a look at the next level. Even if he never takes a snap with the varsity his senior year. The kid needs to blanket his film and start filling out recruitment forms. Also he needs to get a documentation on his variables, ( 40 time Bench,Squat, Vertical Jump,etc..) Any film ( JV or Varsity) a scout will take a look at the kid. I say he needs two things to make it, talent and grades. With APR hitting so many of the universities his grades may be even more important than athletic ability, I know most of you think I am crazy for that last statement, but it is the truth, the NCAA is taking a hard stand with the APR. "Developed last year, the NCAA's new academic standard awards APR points based on how many scholarship student-athletes meet academic eligibility standards. A cutoff score of 925 means an estimated 50% of those student-athletes are on track to graduate. Starting this year, (2007) NCAA schools that regularly fall below the 925 score can lose scholarships, face recruiting restrictions and miss postseason play." So tell the kid to keep his head up, because he still has a chance of playing at the next level. I know the Coaching Staff will have him prepared, so will the Teachers at Cascade when it comes to Academics. Good Luck this Season and Good Luck on Friday
  14. Advisor, What would a 5-A school gain from playing a 2-A school. If they win they are suppose, to if they lose it is a huge disaster. Isn't that why back in the day the TSSAA created classification. If not then go back to open classification and let everybody play everybody, and have the sportswriters vote on the state champion! Just a thought!
  15. Practice, Practice, Practice, The Champs will correct any errors and will be a fired up team come Friday Nite. Coach Parker and Staff will have a great week of practice in my opinion keeping the guy's focus. Although I feel Cascade will be well prepared and ready to ROLL! like the TIDE!, this Clarksville Academy team will give them a lot of different looks, and will also be ready to go. I think Cascade will take advantage of the Home Field and will win by 20+. Good Luck Champs MTSU VS #2 LSU on the Bayou, I think we can score more the V.A Tech. (Ha-Ha)
  16. I was afraid this game would be close, and then again I watch the weather like a hawk. I thought if rain did come in it would play a major factor in the game. I figure the grind it out offense of McEwen would not give Cascade offense to many chances. Glad to see the Champs get the W. And McEwen ma bey a team in the mix come mid season. Still to early to tell UofL 58-MT 42- 1,284 yards total offense (Middle Tennessee - 555, Louisville 729), and 13 touchdowns. Why we love the Spread
  17. Cascade11, Thank you for all you do on the board, You do a great job of bring coverage to the Region. I took: Cascade: Forrest Jo Byrns Nashville Christian MTCS I think the Community game is a toss up! But Nashville Christian seems poised this year with their coach. He was as at Lipscomb, and I think Jackson Christian in the past. MTCS is my upset pick of the night!
  18. McEwen is a very good football team, they always seem to be well coached. McEwen usally has a strong running game, should be the same this year. Cascade has big play capability, and a smothering defense. I like both teams. But I think Cascade has to many athletes this year. It will be a close and low scoring game Cascade 14 McEwen 12
  19. M.B.A. has a first class facility up and down, Not just the field, ( new style astro turf) the campus is steeped in tradition and history of yestyear they have had football since 1897!. I had the privliage of attending the MBA vs JPII game in 2006 and the stadium was packed with fans, not to mention a few Titans were taking the game in as well. If you ever get a chance you should head down to Harding Road to "The Hill" it is great plac to be on Friday Night in the Fall
  20. LOL, I know Coach Sharp will have the Wing flying on friday. Just a big fan of the offense and the LC runs the play as good as anyone I have seen. VIVA LOS Wing-T Good Luck Friday
  21. Having the honor to play in this one for four years. Moore County will bring a lot of fans to the game. They travel will, especially for an old rivalry like this one. Moore Co. had our number for all four years i played, but we made it intresting my last two year. ( Arrival of Coach Parker my last two years) This game means alot to both teams! Ask anyone who played in it they will tell you. I hope with the addition of the new teams in Region 5-1A, and only one non-region game on the schedule Cascade and Moore County have agreed on a long term contract. Would hate to see this one go! Good Luck Champs!
  22. I agree UT is astonishing record when they are underdogs, but Cal at Berkley, with a solid running back, Tedford calling the offense, and Pacific Time could lead the Vols a little jet lag, but my SEC bias would not allow me to pick aganist the VOLS. Vols by 9, don't ask why nine seemed like a good number.
  23. I have to give Mount Pleasent a lot of respect they have really done a great job in scheduling up for their non-region games. I think that is a credit to the coaching staff, they realize Week 0 and Week 1 games aganist 2A teams will help the players late in the season and play-off time. I know nothing of either team, I do know that Fairview was in a very tough region ( CPA, Ezell-Harding, FRA, East Robertson, and I think Goodpasture was in there too) and Region 6-1A is as very solid region also. Couldn't make a predictions if I had too. Should be a great game Good Luck to All!
