  1. rb4u- what about Yokely, Is that ankle well from last week, and are the ones who sat out against Loretto due to injury back?
  2. I would say that a whole lot of teams in the state would be 0-3 if they had Spring Hills' schedule, thats something that I'm sure will be told to the Wildcats during the week. Lawrence Countys' confidence (which hit a bump in the Penalty Bowl with White Co.) looked to be back on track with the win over Loretto. That, along with Spring Hills hunger for a win should make for a good game. Monday prediction from a Wildcat fan???.........Lawrence Co. by 10
  3. Looks like Coach Marston is really moving fast in getting the "we can win" attitude in the players heads, which was desperatley needed and is great to see. The Wildcats actually look anxious and confident when taking the field, a stark contrast from last year. The slip-up with White Co. last week hurt but some lessons had to be learned from it. When this team gets to going on all cylinders without mistakes, it should be fun to watch. As for the Loretto game, Lawrence County averaged 7 yards per carry as a team, according to the radio stats. That, along with field position, in my opinion, was the story of the game. Little passing was needed. This team is deep, not a beat was missed when backs were changed, or when QB's were changed after an injury. The line has depth also, the big tackle, #79, sat out the entire game, giving a sore shoulder a rest so he would be 100% next week for Spring Hill, but the big holes and stingy defensive wall were still there like the Giles Co. game.
  4. I've been out of action for awhile, and this is a good week to get back in. If the Wildcats that played at Pulaski a couple weeks ago show up, it'll be all Lawrenceburg. But if the Wildcats that I saw play the other night against White Co. wind up on the field....it'll be a close 'un. Wildcats by 13.
  5. Sorry for the duplicate post. Congratulations Mt. Pleasant. You have hired what in many Lawrence County opinions will prove to be an excellent Head Coach. Expect an atitude in Coach Smith that will lead to winning. Good Luck Walt, you definitely deserve this opportunity.

  7. Scuba7,May 17 - 10:05 AM]Was number 52 a senior last year or an underclassmen? .........Senior
  8. Didn't mean to abandon the thread...lightnin' got computer greenjeans, looks like we dropped Tullahoma, Lewis Co. and added Shelbyville, Hillsboro..I don't know the factors in that decision, may be a mandatory rotation thing, but I dont see anything positive that could come out of it. Hope to be proven wrong on that. Does anyone have the "dates" to go with the schedule?
  9. How bout someone posting a complete schedule with dates & location? Or even ANY type of Wildcat Football talk.
  10. Will McMasters...back-up QB last season, although he does not appear as agile as Boone, he has a deadly accurate and very strong arm. A strong runner, not fast, but strong. He will be a Senior next year, a very mature athlete, has definitely "paid his dues". Go Wildcats [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 3-21-03 3:08P] [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 3-29-03 6:17P]
  11. Whoa..looks like Don's sportin' a little confidence in the South end of the County.'ats alright. Maybe the Wildcats will have plenty of true confidence when the time comes. Speakin of Boone, I personally would like to see it mixed up a little this year and see him in the backfield some.
  12. Thanks youngcoach and scrappy. since the title of this thread is Lawrence County, how bout some talk? I didn't make the scrimmage with Savannah, but I heard that it looked good to have the sidelines nice and full. Heard about a nice size line, too. So, just maybe Mr. Motivation will show up in the Wildcat locker room and light that much needed fire under somewhere that it has been absent for waaaaaaaay too long. Go Wildcats [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 4-13-03 7:25A]
  13. Thanks youngcoach, looks like we added Hillsboro and Shelbyville. Is that right? Who did we drop?
  14. Thanks for your persistence, Scrappy. I reside in Lawrence Co. and still can't find out. So I'm passing the ball in the field where it belongs.....LAWRENCE COUNTY COACHES, the interest must start with YOU!!! Come on. Go Wildcats [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 3-16-03 10:07A]
  15. I'm also hearing that spring practice has started and no Wildcat fans are postin' here. Come on, where's all this interest that should be brewing?? [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 2-22-03 10:14A] [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 2-26-03 11:03P]
  16. I hear that 81 players showed up for Spring practice!! Still huntin a schedule. GO Wildcats
  17. I heard that the schedule is alot different from last year. Anyone?
  18. guru, we are hittin around the same thing, just from a different perspective, yes you could say, AS A TEAM, there was a lack of heart, we all saw that. And we all saw no effort from anywhere to change it. What I was saying is that as in some individual players, there is alot of heart. Yes, some heavy soulsearching should have already taken place, I just hope that it was done by the ones that need to do it. We had the talent to be well over .500, but whether it be High School or NFL, talent alone wont cut it for long. Knock on wood....lets keep the talk goin. Go Wildcats
  19. Lchsrb4u, please reread my previous post, I think you like totally missed it.
  20. youngcoach....this past season, when the Tennessean would list the stats for the midstate football players there would be 75-100 total names in each catagory and not 1 Lawrence County player, except the last week when Eric Johnsons name was in there. On one instance I called and ask about this and was told by the TN that the names can only get on there if they are called in by the teams coach or statkeeper. Now, you are the first one I have ever heard in the last couple years to say there was a statkeeper, and I dont mean a coach with a clipboard making a few notes or a radio announcer, I mean a real statkeeper. So, if there is one, who is it? I am sure the the several supporters who I have heard say that none were officially kept would like to be wrong. [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 1-8-03 4:24P]
  21. Those who have some insight into this team will say that the heart is there, especially in some of the underclassmen who haven't had it beat out of them yet. Lack of heart is not a fair catch-all term at all in this case. From what I understand, there are more than just a few who have such of a heart that they work out and practice on their own religiously. Will this young group ever reap the rewards for that? Who knows? I know we all hope so. So,if you use the term "lack of heart", it fits somewhere, but not in the same phrase as "good returning players"...know what I mean? GO Wildcats [Edited by CrosseyedCat on 1-7-03 12:40P]
  22. Footballguru, I agree that Johnson should have been recognized in some way, but I do not believe that it was because of the "no love for Lawrence County" that you speak of. I believe the people that vote on these things cannot see all the teams play. They rely on what they read, hear and of course, the individual stats. Therein may lie the problem. Sadley, for whatever reason, Lawrence County does not keep individual stats. So even if a Lawrence County player has outstanding achievments, it is not known by anyone by way of publicity. The Tennessean paper states clearly that someone with the program can call in individual stats on a weekly basis. What a great asset it would be to a Lawrence County players moral and drive to see his name along side those of the other schools in the leaders of passing/rushing/recieving/tackles or anything else. On the other side of the coin, how disappointing it must be each week for Lawrence County players to see other schools players names listed in all the stats and no Lawrence County names there at all. Also, individual stats go along way in the recruitment of those players with college potential. Without them, as in a Lawrence County players case, a lot is left up to the parents to get films letters and personal visits with recruiters. Bottom line......Keep stats in '03 Go Wildcats
