    robjim?

Do you have a brain? There is more to life than chasing skirts. You are acting very sophmoric. I am actually at work now, eagle, and in front of a computer. I still broadcast high school (yes, it is STILL two words) football, and I work for this website indirectly, so I guess that justifies my posting on here. If people shouldn't follow high school after they graduate, then why would anyone other than parents want to come watch your team? And on the subject of BGA bashing, I have not bashed BA since I started on these boards a VERY long time ago. Questioning a call of a ref isn't bashing a school. But since you brought BGA into this, our school has more prestige than you could ever imagine- isn't it amazing what 114-years does for a school.
  2. I was giving you a hard time for the e. obviously a typo. Seriously, I think that this stuff will be debated for years to come. This is what makes it fun.
  3. I would say a lot of people care about BGA...just think of all thr graduating classes here recently in the school's illustrious 114-year history. I do, in fact, on saturday sit in front of a computer all day- Its part of my job...am I cool? Actually, I would probably say so...You are obviously sitting in front of your computer as well waiting for al of these posts- I bet that makes you really cool, too. And actually, high school (yes, Eagle, it is two words- they taught us that at BGA) football is still one of my jobs, so I guess keeping up with it is cool after all.
  4. It might end some of the argUments...

    robjim?

you must not have life either to sit there monitoring the board to see if robjim doesn't respond within 30 seconds. Back off of him. You have already had your gift this weekend from the refs, so don't complain about him merging your post with the 8,000 others in the same subject. You might want to take a swig from YOUR milk jug.
  6. What makes this such an "important" game? Why should we need really "special" refs for this game and not for other games. Refs are refs. They are the human element of the game that makes it fun. It has been this way since football was organized, and will always be that way. Hey MBA guys.......the sun actually came out this morning!!!!!!!!!! Actually, the SEC sends its beter crews to the bigger games. I would say a rivalry like MBA/BA deserves better refs than a BGA/MBA matchup.
  7. I guess BGA didn't beat MBA two years ago. Yes, it was a great game- both teams played hard- I just think that MBA got jobbed. Hey, BA has had one heck of a season as well, as much as I Hate to say that, but seriously, MBA deserved to/should have won the game Friday night. End of my involvement in this discussion. If you wish to take this up with me, feel free to instant message my by clicking below. Plus, except for the few with skin as thin as tissue paper, this stuff is just writing about opions. If you don't like mine or me because of them...tough. I really don't care.
  8. The thing about it pep- I am a neutral observer. Maryville is quite the football team. Congrats on another perfect season! I typically don't talk about referees when my team is involved, or about officiating in the games that I call on the radio- but this was just bad- even if you leave out all the overtime, the end of regulation was horrendous. That crew should be suspended and they should be looked into to to make sure they don't ever make these 'mistakes' again with other big games. I am for one in favor of rotating the best crews to the biggest games to avoid problems like last night's.
  9. Bill, you certainly showed a lot of class in your post... I never, by the way, did anything classless, Billy. The sad fact is, since I am not all gooy and wishy-washy about how great the upset was, I must not have any class. Why don't you take your BA colored glasses off and see that the refs made a lot of mistakes at the end that cost a nationally ranked team their season.
  10. were you watching the game on tv ?? if you were , forget about what the announcers were saying , the spot was about right . there was no way he was close to the 6 inch line . i have no dog in the fight . all the other calls were botched , but the spot in overtime was not . you could plainly see on the replays he just got to the 2 or 3 yard line . I made my decision based on the replay- forward progression I THOUGHT had him to the 1 at least, not the three. I couldn't care less what Pat or Blake said.
  11. BA, I am not going to reference the personal attacks in this response. The simple fact that the game was BLOWN by the referees is quite evident. I am glad that you were so close to the ref that you could touch him...but I seriously doubt that you were watching him the whole time. And if you were watching the ref, then you obviously would see that your line wasn't set. But, like I said, I doubt that you were actually watching the ref, especially when your team was trying to kick a field goal to beat the #9 team in the country. I saw the play on TV- the clocked looked to have expired. The line certainly did not look set. The only part of that entire play the refs got right was the fact that the football did sail through the uprights. And the "chip" on my shoulder is the fact that nationally ranked and unbeaten MBA just got jobbed out of thier national ranking. I am not saying BA isn't a worthy opponent, however, I am saying that they recieved a very nice gift from the TSSAA. I am through posting about this topic- I have made my points and feelings clear.
  12. What's sickening is the poor spots that MBA got in OT and the field goal that was counted even though everyone wasn't set when the clock expired...MBA had a chance in overtime, sure...BUT it never should have come down to overtime. Period. The refs might as well have handed the football game to Brentwood Academy personally.
  13. Classic line- I had one similar to that in the updates thread about this game. Classic. These refs should be scrutinized over why they made the calls and the spots that they did. I would be very interested to see the results.
  14. That is a rather big break to get, don't you think? MBA should have won that game. Period. Sure the bad snap hurt them, shure they should have made that FG, HOWEVER, the refs seemed to make every single call at the end of that game in favor of BA. The officiating was horrendous and it 100% cost MBA the game. BA played well, but they DO NOT DESERVE THIS WIN. I am sure they are quite excited, and I am sure that they played with great heart, but I don't call kicking a field goal with your line not set after time expired playing brilliantly. I call that lucky you had refs that should never have stepped foot on the field. I think someone needs to look into last night's officiating and get to the bottom of it. That crew should not work another important game this season.
  15. This might have been the poorest officiating for such a large game. The TSSAA needs to rotate refs to the bioggest games- the best ref crews to the best games so that sub par refs like tonight don't ruin a teams season by phillip's-head-ing them out of an undefeated season. MBA slaughters BA in the Clinic Bowl JUST LIKE LAST YEAR! I would like to congratulate Carlton Flatt on another Silver Ball in advance.
  16. It will be debated- by BA fans only- they will argue forever that they won fairly. Just like they argue that anything that BA does is fair.
  17. Actually, I don't think I would want that guy doing a middle school game. He needs to be working the single-A pee-wee games.
  18. probably, "I can't believe with all the lawsuits we actually had the game handed to us. Wow."
  19. 926, doesn't matter how much time was left- the BA offensive line was never set- and that is a false start, game ends on the offensive penalty. Period. MBA will take a phillips-head this week.
  20. Terrible oficiating. This game should not have gone to OT. MBA should have won it in regulation- that FG should not have been counted, terrible spots in OT for MBA- BA just got a really big gift compliments of the zebras.
  21. I like this guy . And I am sure that the TSSAA has good lawyers, too- but unless I am mistaken, the amount of money spent on the defense is MUCH MUCH MUCH less than spent by the plaintiffs. While I support any private school in Division II, I do think that BA has wasted a lot of money on this lawsuit. I do not feel that my alma mater ought to have pay a dime of that suit if the court costs are distributed to all of the members of the association (which they will be if TSSAA has to pay for the costs). What is my reasoning? I will explain: BGA didn't break TSSAA rules, therefore they, along with every other school should not have to shoulder this burden. BA has not won the private schools any allies as far as PR is concerned with their move to sue.
  22. Actually, I do have a touch of a cold. I never actually called you a moron...I stopped short of that...I still believe that Csense probably doesn't stand for common sense- you haven't displayed much in your posts. See, I just don't think that you have anything intelligent to add to this thread...maybe you can prove me wrong by actually posting a response other than "typical of a private supporter" to all of my well thought out posts.
  23. that is true, but imagine how few people that really is...
  24. thats true in the playoffs i suppose- the more gates, the more cash money. I personally wouldn't pay a nickle to watch that small clas splay if it came to pass...
  25. I think coaches want easiness and job security so if you kick out ll the good teams, its ghard to fire someone that wins most of thier games, no matter how easy the teams are.
