  1. Eventually, bored, I would assume that the more divisions=more money would stiop at a point...the cost of facilities and paying people to work the events would ecplipse the money made. I dunno, though...just a thought...
  2. Eaglefan, not doubting you, buddy, buit the Clinic Bowls are in Nashville, are they not? I know for a fact that the Clinic Bowls are the Division II State Championships...is there another clinic bowl???
  3. Skeebob, I think it was frivilous because BA's money was better spent in other areas than fighting probation in the federal courts. I think suing over any of this stuff is frivilous. And take not CS, the above exchange of differing opinions was INTELLIGENT and absent were the ad hominem attacks...
  4. Nice comeback buddy. Way to fight facts with...well, personal attacks. Always a sign of victory on a point. So do actually have any facts to back up your side, or are you going to continue post the same brainless phrase?
  5. I am still not convinced that school districts would spend as much on their bands if they didn't serve a school purpose, such as playing at the football games. And I agree with the last poster- the game's outcome has nothing to do with how good/bad/non existant the band is.
  6. Yes, CS, and they paid for it themselves since they are a private school. They didn't fleece the citizens of their dictrict for the legal costs of their own frivolous lawsuit. Typical from a private supporter. Shoving money into the discussion. I know that CS doesn't stand for common sense! Of course this is about money! Suing people isn't free! You think the lawyers and federal judges will donate their time to hear these cases? When we can't even balance the state's own budget, we certainly don't need schools sueing over a decision made about SPORTS! This is frivilous. I will stop short of calling you a complete moron, but let me say again- What does the class actio suit have to do with money? EVERYTHING! Whether I support privates or not (Which, if you could read my last post...I called BA's suit frivilous as well, even though it was privately funded...) has nothing to do with this. A suit like the one talked about on this thread over the issue at hand is not only wastefull but is reckless, too! Like I said in above posts, prior to your ad hominem attack, there needs to be some accountability- if the school sues, the money should come out of the budget that the school already has been given and there should be no extra money allotted. It is quite wasteful. Typical of you to take forgranted that whether we support private schools or public, we ALL support financially the decisions of public schools- and I for one do not wish to share in the burden that the legal fight would put on tax payers.
  7. Everyone is chattering on and on about these high school bowl games...I have never seen one nor have I heard of any...Let's start a list with the bowl names and where they are played. I am sure I am not the only one in the dark...

  9. Wes, I put in my vote as "Full Split." Its time to end the whining and let the public schools kick each other's butts until they get tired of that and then we'll see a D-III made up of schools like Maryville that are perinnial powers. Then a D-IV made up of schools that still beat the smaller public schools, then a D-V and so on until everyone gets rings.
  10. Here's a quick and smart-allec answer...Maybe they practice harder and want to win more than the teams they play...
  11. Does anyone see the problems in society when winning and losing and competing have to have the Federal courts involved. Please, this is the most ridiculous item of the day. I hope that the lawsuits are either a. privately funded by parents or b. not funded with any of the money that I send to the federal government or to the state each year in taxes. If a lawsuit is filed, I hope the money comes from funds already delegated to those classrooms and not from my pocket. I certainly hope the people that file these have to make a trade off...money to the classrooms or money to sue...because it is very wasteful to sue the TSSAA over this. Like I said above, sue if you must, but the citizens in those districts should not have to pay for this frivilous legal escapade. This whole issue so very childish..."I didn't get my way through the democratic process that I control, so I am going to sue you!" Wa wa wa wa wa wa! I am in favor of a split RIGHT NOW...but to those of you who think that will solve the problem...what happens when you start getting the crap beaten out of you by the schools in your district after the split? You'll accuse them of breaking your rules again and then you will fight to have them multiplied or put on probation or thrown out. Quit whining and play.

    D2-AA

AusDan, I hope Catholic hosts BGA in the playoffs- if you do, I will bring the Clinic Bowl Network Playoff Game of the Week broadcast crew to the stadium... Good luck against Webb. And guys, maybe this is nit-picking, BUT, I want you all to know that Division II is properly written as "Division II" and abbreviated as "DII" or "D-II," not "Division 2" or "D2." Sorry, guys, but that has always irked me!
  13. I agree ELA. I think it is classless to play when the other team is on offense. I also absolutely cannot stand the PA announcers that have to do a play-by-play mass broadcast to all of the fans. That's the radio's job!
  14. The marching band should be allowed to go to competitions...ONLY AFTER THEY PLAY AT THE GAME. If the band doesn't play at all the games (let me say HOME games, because I understand a school might not be able to afford travel costs) then they should lose some of their funding. Bottom line, the mraching band exists solely because of the football team at the school.
  15. Catholic played a decent game, but I can honestly say BGA gave that one away. I would actually pay money to watch these two teams meet again in the post season.
  16. BGA by a score of their own choosing.
  17. At the game friday night, the injury report that I was handed (and that is on the game broadcast) was that he had a partially torn Hamstring and that he would not return inthe game. Supposedly he just "heard something pop."
  18. Yeah, southpaw, I forgot how much 99.7 lacks without Willie, George, and Darren. I hope he gets back soon. And you can "book this" that when he returns, he will make another radio station #1 in the market!

bulldog- i think you and I might actually agree on two points. One about Merrell, the other about Louderguy.
  20. I like the site, but is it a super seven site from a neutral perspective or is it a superseven site from BA's perspective? Just wondering. Like the idea of the site, though, wes. keep up the work.

Onthe topic of stadium announcers, I haven't heard that many that are above average here in east tennessee. I have heard a few here and there (Boyd-Buchanon last week was very good, and most ofthe ones on our game list are good) but overall there is something lacking when compared to teams in the nashville/suburban nashville area. The few I have heard in west tennessee weren't quite as good as middle either.
  22. Listen to the game by going to this page... http://www.coacht.com/link.cfm?storyid=7488
  23. Del, if you couldn't tell by the use of all those face-thingies, I was kidding.

Terry Merrell at WAKM in Franklin is pretty darned good. Terry has been doing it for a while and offers a unique perspective to his Williamson County football broadcasts. Panther, you took my logo
