  1. to all of those who are complaining about the fields- the ballboys- the scoreboards- the opening ceremonies blah blah blah, consider this: many people spned the majority of their younger years preparing for an event (like the state soccer tournament) that they never see. You were all given the opportunity to experience something that so many didn't. Quit bitching! you made it to the state tournament. Mike Rose Soccer Complex entertains many teams year round, and if you can find a facility that will accomodate the state tournament, and has better fields let me know. Whether or not Memphis is the place to hold the tournament I don't know- it is a long drive for many teams; however, Nashville only has the Hendersonville fields. I have played there and the aren't even close to being up to everyone on here standards. Murfreesboro only has the airport fields, and there again, the fields are good but not Mike Rose good, AND the don't have bleachers. If anyone wants to argue with me about the best fields go ahead. I have played all over the Middle Tennessee region and at the Mike Rose and I know MRSC is the best. Now if you could take the MRSC and move it to Nashville or Murfreesboro THEN the states could be played there, but as of now no where in the MidTN region can accomodate the states- Memphis is as good as it gets. Congatulations to all of the state competitiors for a great season and a tournament, I hope you all enjoyed Memphis and have the opportunity to return next year.
  2. if you want any information on the U of M soccer teams, you can go to the web site: www.memphis.edu and you should be able to direct your way to where you want to be. but i know he got a lot of PT if its the same andy i am thinking of, i am not sure on his stats though.
  3. well if you go to a christian school, i guess it is assumed you should act like a christian- i don't know. I have never played against boyd, but i am sure i could name a team or two that would match their unsportsmanlike conduct. where are you at now chs23.
  4. who are the refs for the game? and what is the forecast- shelbyville plays better in the rain (or used to)?
  5. Referees: they can create winners with awarded PKs, and losers by taking away goals or potential goals- they definitely can. District 7-8 is weak- the majority of the referees have their favorites. In my past experiences i have played in games where there were two/ three reds thrown and multiple yellows- a few days later that particular referee contacted our coach and apologized for his agenda against our team- ADMITTED TO IT! no one else can argue against me- this is the truth it happened- end of discussion- that man is a good referee, but he is human as well. I believe that Keith Hamilton and Bryan Hannaway are that divisions best- as for the rest: they are unsure of the rules or have an alterior motive for refing. REFEREES CAN DECIDE. and jb i hope that you were only kidding about that whole kill thing- because those boys that play now are much closer than they were two years ago- if one of them goes into the stands like i did- they will all be there- not only them, but their parents, brothers/ sisters, and heck the bus driver may end up in the mix. and to be playing on their field and trying something dirty- not a wise choice. your best bet is to play ball. clean ball.
  6. i predict 2-1 shelbyville. there is a lot of history between these two teams- shelbyville WILL NOT give them this game. Shelbyville is a faster, more solid team (my opinion). I know that it will be an extremely physical game, and it is on the referees to keep the game under control- if they do their jobs, then the cards will probably come out early which should help shelbyville. i know that tullahoma has a fast defense, and shelbyville has a midfield that has good control and vision of the field. if shelbyville takes their time- controls from the first touch, and all of the mid, forwards and wings keep on an even pace- everything will work out for shelbyville. if tullahoma leaves brock horner open to double team the other forwards that will help their defense.
  7. yeah- i figured that it wouldn't be too long before all of this was said. i have never seen any of these guys play, but just got the vibe that they would be "fish out of water" in that areas back woods playing style. and i can say that it is back woods because i have played there, and the way we play and they way other countries play is completely opposite. like i said earlier, maybe in this thread, i play with an independent league and there are many different countries playing together, and it is a mess. You have hungarians, bolivians, americans, hispanics, trinidads, canadians, brazilians, lithuanians, and aussies- and they all have a different concept of how to play the game. However back in their home country, i am sure they are prime competitors. It is not that YOUR PLAYERS suck, they may just need time to adapt to rough, high speed, aggressive soccer.
  8. yeah lckicker- you defintely need to pay more attention to your medicine- that was a bit schitzo. you might want to go back and edit your last post to me as well before a moderator sees all that nonsense. if you wouldn't come on here and talk so much trash about how you are so good people might not think you have a disability. and when you said you weren't going to be at the bottom of the list- do you think you are going to be at the top (not being sarcastic)- who all have you played out of your district? 9. i am not sure if you were referring to my reply then. i have always had a problem with tullahoma. i have always thought that they were a dirty team in the past. i have played against them for the last four years and it seems as though we always got the short end of the deal. i apologize for making direct "attacks" but what i say is truth- (in the past) they have been very unsportsmanlike. i think tullahoma is a talented team, and richie is a great coach. i just disapprove of several of their tactics. i will not sugar coat my thoughts, but i do respect you as the moderator, and will censor some of my replies.
  10. thats a brilliant reply. thanks for that valid input.
  11. i have heard great things about shelbyville, and i know what i think, but i want to hear from everyone else in the district and what they think- i want the good, the bad, all of it. i have seen them play riverdale and that is the only thing i have to go by- so fill me in.
  12. i completely agree with crutcher, except they ended with 11 players, they may have ended with 10 or 9. Keith poses a good point too- i know that they are both speaking the truth. Keith is an outstanding ref who has more knowledge about our district than most of the coaches do- so to question him is to say that you are merely in denial about the truth or misinformed. Last year, Shelbyville was suppossed to play tullahoma in a regular season game. the refs were from shelbyville, tullahoma (i believe it was keith), and one other which i wasn't familiar with. Seemingly fair, right? that wasn't good enough for richie- fair that is. the new refs were apparently pro-tullahoma. there are no need for details but it was an extremely physical game- many unnecessary calls, and many that should have been called. but thats the way the ball bounces (so to speak). dont argue with the facts- your own team is saying the same thing that i am- why argue?
  13. well even though my high school days are over, and i won't be seeing you anymore, i probably wouldn't tell who were my good players either. i think its great that a team can instinctively know where to go in relation to their teammates. i want numbers though- scores, stats, record; things of that nature. i never counted you all in or out, but good luck eitehr way.
  14. i have always known them to be a steady team, but here recently have staggered. i have read posts that they are on the rise again. true or false? don't give me just your opinion- back it up with some type of evidence other than- "well, i heard they beat tullahoma" that don't tell me anything. i need numbers.
  15. all i see on here is smyrna talking trash back at yankee- i think there may have been one guy from columbia that piped in and said some stupid stuff about no refs, and coaches and whatnot, but in the end it is all crap. yankee hasn't made any replies back to any of this- so i really think both teams need give it up and play ball. who cares if smyrna went to a columbia game and who cares if the refs suck- they always do- unless you get keith. yall all need to shut this baby $H!+ up. i get sick of seeing the same thigs over and over again.
  16. i have no idea who you are- maybe i did make the mistake of sterotyping this year's team to years before. but don't talk about natural talent- i am not getting in a "you know what" measuring contest here. i don't care how good you are. the reason i support yankee is becasue i think he is an outstanding athlete and good sport... apparently. i said all of those things in an encouraging manner to him; however, if it makes you and your team feel any better- i wish you all the best of luck as well. i have no hard feelings toward SHS, quite frankly i like you all, i just think that sometimes (in the past) some of your players made up for lack of ability with physicality. i meant no harm by what i said and was by no means taking shots- if you want to see that go to where i talk about ttown.
  17. right now i play in the greater memphis soccer association, independents, and the young guns- but i am originally from shelbyville- who are you?
  18. i can say that your fans and parents are all ####, just like you say ours are. from my OWN experiences, i have been spit on from your fans. when i called him out after the game, like i am sure you would have done to us, before he could get two words out of his mouth his moma was on me. i was out of line by calling him out, but i don't see what business his mother had in it- i was on him becasue he spit on me during the game. so does it happen? YES. i know shelbyville has some loud mouths too, but they never spit on anyone- thats a promise. but all of this was in the past- there is no need to say anything else about it.
  19. well- all of the experiences i have ever had against tullahoma were bad, to say the least. i think the players are dirty, their refs are dirty, but they have a darn good coach. i don't like the fans, the parents, or even the field. i never have like tullahoma, i never will- i am sure that for the most part they are all okay individuals, but when they step on the soccer field with me, i can't help buyt hate every single one of them. they are all cocky, arrogoant babies (at least as players). that is my personal opinion and i apoplogize if you disagree with it, ori have made you or anyone else mad.
  20. i agree with him- but in my personal opinion- it seems to me lckicker needs to be loved more by mommy and daddy- he doesn't seem to be getting enough attention, but i think what he meant when he said three more years is that he still has the remainder of this year plus two more, either that or he just can't count- i don't know. anyway its none of my business.
  21. maybe they just suck- or the tournament was rigged- thats what it was. i heard. but in all honesty- after years of over celebrations, trash talking, dirty playing, and having the games called their way- i personally think it is high time they got beat. i can remember the days when their fans spit on players, their mothers charged players after the games and so forth- ah sweet sweet bliss. i am glad they lost (if you couldn't already tell). sorry if this pisses anyone off who isn't from tullahoma.
  22. easy yankee! i know who you are and what you are about and you know who i am and what i am about (formerly known as Central17). even though all this has gone down- there is no point in throwing gas on the fire. on a personal note- i hate tullahoma, always have, and chances are good that i always will, and i did the same thing last year that you are doing now. let me tell you nothing is accomplished by getting on the internet and posting things like this. it only pisses your coach off, though it may be true- i can see that from smyrna, but you ties them 1-1 i know you can take them. smyrna makes up for lack of natural abiltiy by being physically rough. i know that for fact too- but that is okay as well, because many other teams do this. but if you want to have bad stories to tell go to pulaski and start trouble. don't sweat smyrna- they are relying on their teams diversity to win them ballgames. just kick their @$$ and be done with it.
  23. first of all let me make a note that officiating was poor- i think both teams will agree with that. there were a lot of hand balls called on shelbyville that i didn't think were hand balls. There were fouls called that weren't fouls, as well as many that were fouls; yet, weren't called. both teams came out very strong and it appeared, at first, that shelbyville had the upper hand. however, i think shelbyville made some very careless errors, and riverdale capitalized on them. shelbyville had trouble with their pace- they couldn't get good consistent passes in because the wings, forwards, and midfields were all moving at different speeds. they also had difficulty winning them in the air, but that is a problem that we have always had. i think that shelbyville has an outstanding defense, but riverdale's #7 was just faster than our defense. I did notice shelbyville's sportsmanship and respect- despite all the fouls and officiating (or lack thereof) i think they all did an outstanding job of keeping their heads up and mouths shut. I am not sure that would have been the case in past years. if my advice is worth anything i would suggest for them to slow down, control the ball on first touch (obviously), and make the easy pass rather than dribble til you lose.
  24. hahaha. i think shelbyville's suffers mostly from the key player they lost last year. haha- j/k. but- even if shelbyville does have several players quit- BELIEVE ME they will have no trouble fillinig spots, they are all talented from the seniors to the freshman. so if you wanna keep running your jaw- you might want to look at whos still on the roster instead of who isn't.
