  1. SAS boys basketball schedule correction and results Nov 18 Randolph School Score SAS 58 Randolph 47 Nov 20 @ Whitwell score SAS 61 Whitwell 43 thanks
  2. Temple plays on the Mountain at Sewanee on Saturday.
  3. I am sure you want this one on your calender. The match up of two football giants: SAS at Kings moved to Thursday, Oct 30
  4. SAS drives a bus to Kimball to pick up kids from Marion County and some from Chattanooga. I guess we are the bad guys.
  5. "The problem was the referee?" is what you say. Let me ask, does that justify a parent, (the varsity boys basketball coach from Boyd is what I heard), charging the ref and challenging him to fight, right on the track behind the bench? We went back on to play an intra-squad game on the field as this was going on, but I saw the the parent and ref being seperated. I bet our AD didn't apologize to Boyd for anything! Boyd is the one that needs to issue an apology it seems to me.
  6. Boyd Christian quit at half, behind 1-0 in Sewanee against SAS on Monday afternoon. The Boyd coach did not want any of their players to get a red card, which she felt was inevitable. The referee and a parent (coach?) from Boyd Christian had to be seperated after the game. Seems the parent questioned the Ref's manhood and the Ref questioned the parent's manhood. Banished to his truck, the parent invited the ref to meet him down the street and the ref had his shirt off and was getting ready to go. Fortunately both decided against it--- there probably would have been a heart attack. It was a spectacle------Adults behaving badly. The kind of stuff you read about but as a student you don't think you will ever see. [Edited by MountainLion on 4-15-03 8:43P]
  7. Of course SAS does not want to go to Memphis in the regular season---we leave at 11am on Friday, eat a sandwich and play at 7:30---then get some pizza and get back on the bus and go home, arriving at 4am or later. The seniors had SAT's the next day once last year. I understand the situation like we are trying to ride this out ----that DII will grow and this sort of trip (2 times a year, and 2 Memphis teams come to Sewanee) will not be required. I just hope the split happens and these next two years --though it wont include me----will be the last time sas has to go to Memphis for a regular season game. Next year we are playing some Chattanooga teams- Silverdale, Temple, Brainerd Christian-- that hopefully will be part of DII in the next years. [Edited by MountainLion on 4-12-03 7:22P]
  8. Sewanee claims to be the Oxford of the South, not the Harvard.
  9. Now on the TSSAA site they have all spring sports schedules that have been reported, posted. This is a first and it lets you see who runs track and what their schedule is.
  10. Ya'll gonna have a ball game when you come up to the Mountain next week. Our team should be ready for you.
  11. SAS 60 Whitwell 37 SAS moves to 3-0 plays Sale Creek Friday
  12. SAS is 2-0. Whitwell will be a better matchup than Benton Hall for the Lions. SAS beat Marion County and Mt Juliet Christian.
  13. Thanks for sticking up for my school! SAS traveled twice to Memphis this season in football, while 2 Memphis schools came to us. Last football season we went 3 times--those bus rides are awful. I think the split will be great for current DII members.
  14. SAS 67 Marion County 61 Good Game
