Does anyone have next years schedules for Morristown East Or Jeff Co. I'll take any schedule from any team in the IMAC. Let's get in the weightroom guys, This Conference must show it's a lot better in 2011.

You have hit the head right on the nail. I know an strength coach at Morristown East would help.Community support in Morristown has been good most years. I think getting our best athlete out of the hallways is problem #1. Morristown West seemed to have all their sport program work together, but at East High, Coaches will talk a kid out of playing football, because they do not want him hurt. I do remember when Jeff County was a power,you couldn't find a sit at home or away games if you were late. I thing the IMAC has a chance to make some noise in 2011. Just about every team was very young. Newport will be better,Morristown East & Morristown West return alot of players.Jeff County had one of the best Freshman teams I seen all year.

Morristown East 2010 season was alittle better than most fans Predicted. 5 wins with as many Freshman & 1 year Varsity players, not bad. I do fell we could have won a few more games, if we had players playing the right position. #1)Why is #22(plays DB)not running the football on offense? He got very good speed & he way to short to play corner. He had trouble stopping long passes & jump ball all year.I saw him play as a Freshman,he needs to be on offense. #2)Why is #8 our FB on offense? He runs hard & he a great kid, but he just alittle to slow for this type of spread offense. He needs to be on defense were his physical play can be rewarded. #3)How come we didn't go back to the true Wing-Tee, when Ricker got hurt? #1 would have ran it like Tee Howell. It also would have easy pressure on the offensive line. #4)What improvement or adjusment will be made in our offensive line. I know we were very young,but we had a couple of players that just could,nt block anyone.Maybe another year in the weightroom will fix the problem. If Morristown East plans on running the same offense in 2011, we got to add more speed in the backfield. Cody Ricker can't run on every play. Matt Thompson has speed & has great hands,but we need another player that can take it to the house on any play.Maybe #22 or TEE-Howell little brother could be the answer. If you want to run a spread offense,Oregon is the way to do it. Speed kills! As a fan of all high school football,I hate to see the season come to the end. I hope someone can answers some of my question. Looking forward to a great 2011 season.

I think the key to the game will be if, Morristown East can catch the ball this week. Droping 2 passes that could have been scores, will get you beat everytime. When team stack the line, we have to make them pay, with our passing game. East's must get pressure on Sevier County QB,or enought pressure were he has trouble passing.If we let him stand back their, he will pick us apart. Both teams will be in the playoff.A win by Morristown East would give them a chance for a home playoff game.

I would have took a ugly win over a good lost any day. Morristown East had there chances, being inside Jefferson County 20 yardline 3 times. Morristown East is a very young team, just about the hole team return next year. We keep dropping passes, 2 of those drop would have been TD. We have a good offensive line, but at times some of our younger players have trouble blocking.I am not sure if #66 legs are hurt or what, he gets runover on just about everyplay. Goodluck in the playoff J.C, make the IMAC proud.

Great game, if you like offense. AC offense was even better than I thought. Very good QB & WR,you guys didn't drop a pass. Morristown East moved the ball on your defense at times.(that fumble at the goal line before half really hurt my Canes.) If we score there. we take 21-20 lead going into half-time,& we get the ball 1st. We just could'nt stop AC all night. Until we improve our Defense, we are going to have a long year. Good luck to AC the rest of the year. If your Defense comes around,you guys will have a shot at getting to Cookville. Great fan support for AC,thanks for fill-up the seats.

Why would you said Morristown East is not a tough non conference game? Morristown East's is 3-0 against AC & has made the playoff in a higher class 4 year in a row. I think AC played 2a or 3a football before all the conference changes. Yes it will be hard for my Canes too win tonight, AC is a very good team. We are very young at most position, but we do have some talented players. This game will be closer than you think. Morristowm West hasn't done any better than Morristown East the last 3 years in the post season. I have seen this year Morr-West team play,they are very talented. When you make out an schedule, you try too play teams you will see in the playoff. Morristown East & West have been making the playoff reg for the pass few years. I think last year game helped both teams,& AC went on an great playoff run. Good Luck to both teams, Go Canes!

Fulton physically wornout my Canes Saturday night. We were overmatch at every skill position. I still proud of how well the Defense played most of the night. When you have 5foot 8 DB going against 6 foot 3" WR, their is not much you can do. Fulton has great skill players at every position,their speed kills. Go luck to Fulton the rest of the year. This week game we should match-up alittle better. We will have 1 of our better DB back for this game, he around 6 foot.(He had to sit out fulton game for breaking team rules)I was at last year game, it seem like Anderson Co. threw for 1000 yards. I know Anderson Co. is a very good team, but they do not have the athlete fulton has.(I hope not)It will be hard for my Canes to keep Anderson Co. under 30 points, but I think Anderson Co. will have trouble stoping East's offense too. I am sure Coach Hatcher is planing on getting #1 or #7 more time running the football.We need alittle more speed in the backfield.Good Luck to both teams, have a safe trip to Morristown.

I am a fan of both schools, but I pull for Morristown East when they play Mo-West. Any word on how each team will look? I really looking forward to the season kicking off.

I agree with your statement about Seals.He has moved on,so what should Morristown East do now? The defense was a whole lot better when Coaches Seals had it.Maybe it is lack of talent on defense last year or playing so many underclassmen.I know tackling was a major problem, and that come from coaching. Most of last years offense return, I think East's will be better on offense this year because they would'nt depend on one outstanding player to do everything. The best Game East's played was against Sevier Co. They had there trouble on defense, but the played as a team. Our best player did'nt play because he was hurt. Morristown East defense for 2009 was terrible. You can add our punt team as well. Their has to be some changes made on defense & Special teams or we are looking at another 5-5 season. Coaches Hatcher offense will score points ,but what good it does when the other teams offense score as many points. Tackling on defense was just terrible all year long. Who's is teaching tackling at East's? Time & time again you would see defensive players trying to tackle to high. If you are only 165 lbs, & the runningback is 200 lbs, you must get lower or you will get run over. Special teams: Great kickoff return team, terrible punt team. I think Morristown East had 9 block kicks & atlease 4 kicks that went less than 20 yards. It's a good thing the offense score somuch. 1) Alot of good players returning for 2010. East's must start using disciplinary action for conduct that is hurting the team. example: a) late for pratices late for summer workouts c) cussing out coaches or teamates (this includes MOM's & DaD's) If you do not like the coach or how he is coaching, please pull you son off the team. We have had too many parents that thing the know more than the coaches.We must support the coaches 100% durning the season. If you still have a problem, Please wait until the season is over. D) Coach Hatcher must not play favorites with star players. These guys should be your hardest workers. If your best player misses pratices or summer workouts kick him off the team. You will never win a championship with "me" type of players. Alot of the problem you see at UT started in high school. Coaches looking the other way when a star player breaks rules. Until Morristown East get's more discipline, 5-5 will be the best we can do. Lord willing, I will be their to support my canes! 100% this fall. Work hard this offseson-GO CANES!

I would like to hear from a former player. Were the inmates running the assyylum? I know there will be alot of talent back next year. As a former player, what do you think East's needs to do? GO CANE!

Looked liked they wanted to talk smack and fight more than they wanted to play football. Just my observation. Never seen a team where over half the starters on their defense wouldn't line up to shake the other teams hands. They might want to start coaching some class and sportsmanship down there. I am a little embarrass by how alot of you guys fell about the Morristown East Football program. I know these coaches, They are really good guys. Sometimes winning becomes more important than kicking the problem players off the team. Let's give coach Hatcher a chance to cleaning up some of the issues you have raised. Their are alot of great kids on this team. the few starters you are talking about, is making the hole team look bad. As a big East High supporter, I hope Coach Hatcher will address these issues before next year. GO CANES!

I disagree on Morristown East being a Dirty team. Coach Hatcher has always been about playing with class. I will agree with some of the penalties & the un-discipline of a few players. Alot of the problem with some of these kids start at home. If you have parents who cuss out the coaches, you will have their kids doing the same thing. Coach Hatcher can be a disciplinary. His 1st 2 years at East's, they were one of the most discipline teams around.Maybe Coach Hatcher could talk Walt Bragg into coaching again.Discipline was never a problem when he coach at East, & he maybe one of the best line coaches around. With any luck, he can help with the defense. I think Morristown East has the right coach, he just needs somemore help from his assistance coaches.East's will be fine next year, just wait & see.

I know their must be a major improvement with East's defense & special teams(punting) or we will end-up trying to out score everybody in 2010. For anybody that has seen Morristown East play, what were your thoughts on their problems. Go Canes! have a great off-season in the weightroom.

I agree Morristown East has underachieved this year, but last year team was really good on both side of the football.Losing James Howell in the greenville game really hurt East's chances of making deep playoff run. Coach Hatcher is in his 4 year at East. In his 1st year East's overachieved, losing to Morristown West 3rd round of the playoff. Last year team jumped out 21 points on S-South, we just couldn't Stop S-South in the 2nd half. I am thinking it took Don Woods a few years to get Morristown West pass the 3rd round. Injuries to key players this year hasn't helped,but that football. Good team find away to overcome injuries. East played as a team against Sevier Co.. They had to because of Tee-Howell being out. no-one know how healthy Tee-Howell will be this week. If East plays the same way against Boone as they did last week, East will win.GO CANES!

Let try talking about the game friday. How big is Boones offensive line? Morristown has some size on their offensive line. East has a center that's 6-5" weights around 300lbs & he is only a soph. Morristown Defense line is about avg for most high school in size. Front 7 can be physical at times. Biggest drawback on East's defense is amount of soph. playing & they play half step slow at times. We seem to get good pressure on our pass rush, but we seem to have trouble tackling the QB. I still think it will come down to our offense vs Boones defense. We moved the football up & down the field against Morristown West. We had the football inside their 10 yard line 4 times(scored 1 TD). I have to give Morristown West correct, they step-up when East's got close. Jeff County game, neither team could keep things going on offense.The Ref would throw a flag everytime either team got something going. Boone game, I just think they will have trouble with Morristown East speed early on. If Boone defense is as good as everyone said it is, they will be able to slow East down the longer the game goes on. The Question is, will East's have 35 points already? Morristown Defense is starting to come around. I know we gave up alot of yards to Sevier County passing, but how many QB's can throw like #3. We got pressure on him all night, he just made the plays. With Tee-Howell & Dee-Johnson back, East's will be hard to beat come this Friday. The Weather is calling for no-rain. I hope to see a big crowd Friday night. GO CANES!

How did we lose 5 games? you hit it on the head. Defense at times has been a problem. We played about as good as we can play on defense last night. You QB Mr. Zach Flynn is the best passers we have seen all year.For East's to win games this year,we had to out score the other team.A couple of loses were because of bad special teams( 10th game in the season, we still cannot punt) I Wish Tee-Howell could 've played last night, because we just ran out of gas on offense in the 4Qty. Looking fordward to next week game. We played great against Sevier Co. for 3Qty, we just ranout of gas. We hope to have T-Howell back for The Daniel Boone game, he didn't play against Sevier Co. I think Tee will be ready for Boone next week. Great Game last night Canes! Playing that well without our Top player( Tee-Howell) makes me fell a whole lot better, about our playoff chances. Sevier Co. is a very good team, our defense played about as good as it could. Last night was the most Physcial we have been on defense all year. This game could go either way. We will need an complete game from Morristown East against Sevier county this Friday, and it still may not be enought. Morristown East has shown improvement on defense as the year has gone on. Canefan72 what do you think about moving you son # 40 to outside linebacker or stand-up Defensive End? We need to be more physical on the outside. #40 weights around 250 lbs and I think he is one of our most physical defensive players.He will have more impact on the game if he played on the line of scrimmage. We just do not have the all round team speed on defense we had last year. How many times Did James Howell run down a QB or RB last year? We are not making the play when the other team QB take off and runs. In the games we lost, Not being able to tackle the QB has cost us 3 games.( AE, Cleveland,Jeff Co.) I am not questioning the coaches,but after watching East play all year, I think move #40 up will be just the ticket our defense needs. GO Canes! Beat Sevier County.

Defense is getting better, Morristown West got 14 points off the defense. 1 TD came on a block punt, other came on fumble on our own 10 yard line. Our offense move the football on Morristown West, inside the 10 yard line 3 times, without any points. Morristown West Defense is the best we have seen. They were really physical the whole game,We earn every yard. We lost our QB & FB durning the game, from that physical defense. IF our QB or FB plays Friday night, we should be fine on offense. If Tee has to play QB Friday, this will hurt the offense some, because we like to move him around WR-RB-QB. This is a very important game as far as playoff hopes. should be a great game-good luck to both teams. GO CANES!

Strong comments about a 18 year old kid you don't know. I have not read ONE excuse for this loss and have not heard ONE made. We got outplayed by a better team. We had kids hurt in the game. Dee Dee did not quit, he may be hurt worse than imagined. I have seen Tee hit hard his whole career and keep going. We have underachieved this year big time. There is NO excuse for that. Thanks for remaining a nameless,faceless coward. You suite Morristown well. It's just a game, do not take it so personell. I not so sure underachieved is fair. Morristown East's starts alot Sophomores, they will be alot better next year, with more time in the weightroom. Speaking about the weightroom. Morristown West has alot of Sophomore playing too, but they looked bigger & stronger than East's Sophomores. The better team won, they were just more phyiscal than East's. I still looking forward to this week game. We still have time for Morristown East to become the Team everyone thought it would be. We need #40,#10,#33 at full speed next week. GO CANES! This may be a hard one for the Canes to win. What's up canefan72? you are normally very positive about East's chance of winning.You never gave me an practice up-date, on the return of Tee-Howell or #40 Matt Helton. Will they be close to full speed? No need to giving too much of the game plan away, but has the defense looked better in practice? Weather is calling for rain, both teams played in the rain in their last game. This should' nt affect the outcome. The rain could hurt the turnout.
