  1. Ain't that the truth. Things have really changed since we played there.
  2. I think this one is really hard to predict. Both guys are great coaches. I played for Rankin my freshman year and have known him for many years before that so I would like to see him win. But Maryville has so many kids compared to Alcoa. I think none of us can actually know who's gonna win until the first time they play this fall.
  3. I'd have to say that the most athletic guys to ever play for Blackman are definitely Ralph Stembridge and Rico Turner. These guys were fast, strong, and mobile. Both of them ran 4.4 40's. I always enjoyed blocking for them.
  4. It will be a while before Blackman beats Riverdale. But you never know what can happen. Afterall, in 1999, when I played at Riverdale before I transferred to Blackman, we were 10-0 and entered the first round of the playoffs. We were a top 10 team in the nation and we ended up losing the first round home playoff game in overtime to 5-4 Dickson County. RHS will probably win, but you never know what kind of fluke might happen.
  5. As a former Blackman player (2000-2002), and now a college football player, I can say that I always had confidence that we'd beat Riverdale. But we never did, and the teams I played on went 8-4 and 9-4. So if we couldn't beat them when we were that good, I doubt they will this year unless some kind of miracle happens.

    Region 4-5A

Thanks everybody for your support. It really does mean a lot to me, and yes even you Riverdale fans, lol!! It's tough being only 5'8" and 210-215 lbs. when all the other LB's are around 6'3"-6'4" and 240-250 lbs. But back to the topic at hand, does anybody know anything about Blackman this year. I haven't really paid much attention to them since the '04 season. I know they got Mimms and Wallace, but can they actually win a game this year?

    Region 4-5A

Wow, I haven't been on here in forever. Blackman has a former LB (2000-2002) who is playing for the VOLS this spring. Oh wait a second.....that guy is me!!!!!!! That's right, after playing at MTSU for a little bit, I transferred to UT, and I start spring practice this Thursday.
  9. Out of region 4-5A I'd have to say LaVergne and Siegel.
  10. I haven't really read the rest of this thread so don't know if it's been said or not, but what are his stats for this year and for his career: yards and touchdowns?
  11. Congradulations to Siegel. Give 'em a few more years and they'll be a dominating force.
  12. I played at Riverdale and Blackman. '99 Riverdale: freshman team 9-0, won Tullahoma Lions Bowl, mid-state champs, dressed out for several varsity games '00-'02 Blackman: '00: new school 1-2 varsity, 5-0 j.v. '01: 1st varsity season, 8-4, third in region, 2nd rd. playoffs, 1st team in TSSAA history to make playoffs in 1st varsity year '02: 9-4, 2nd in region, 3rd rd. playoffs. I played LB and OL I played LB at MTSU last year, but transferred to UT-Knoxville this year, made their team, but can't dress this year because of transfer rule so I won't join until the spring so I can concentrate on school this semester. Will be playing OLB for UT.
  13. I think Riverdale will win, but I think it will be a much closer game than anyone would expect.
  14. I heard it was only 14-0 at halftime.
  15. At least Olltewah has been around for more than 3 years. Give Siegel some time and they will begin to dominate.
  16. Suspensions? Who? What? When? Where? How? Come on man; give me details.
  17. No crying here. I really could care less about Blackman now. I'd like for them to win, but I don't get upset if they don't.
  18. I gotta come out of the closet, I'm actually Gary Rankin.
  19. TDCman, That is true. In the 21st century (including 1st 3 games of 2005) Riverdale is: 71-7 22-3 in the playoffs 5 straight BCB appearances 5 region titles only 4 regular season losses 3 state runners-up 3 Mr. Football winners 3 Mr. Football finalists 2 state titles 0 region losses outscored their opponents 2,747-633.....difference of 2,144
  20. I don't really know anything about Franklin County this year, but hopefully Oakland will win.
  21. If you're school has a good team, then there just seems to be more school spirit. But that's about it.
