  1. This isn't the strangest thing that ever happened, but..... In 2001, Blackman's first year of varsity football, we were playing at Hendersonville, who went on to be state runners-up, and we were on the verge of beating them. They were kicking about a 30 yard field goal in the last few minutes of the game. One of our guys came through the line and blocked James Wilhoit's kick and then another guy hit him. The refs called roughing the kicker, even though we blocked Wilhoit's kick, and they got the ball back, and a couple of plays later scored a touchdown to win 23-21. How the heck can you rough the kicker when you block the kick????
  2. I disagree....you can teach speed to an extent. When I played football at MTSU we had speed schools. Most people don't know how to run with proper form. Coaches can teach players how to run with better form, which will slightly increase their speed. I know this because I shaved about 2 10th's off my 40 time fairly quickly when I was playing. Speed is given to you by God, but coaches can perfect it a little.
  3. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've been told that Stephen Britton is not playing at TN Tech anymore.
  4. I didn't see it, but I remember when that happened. Also in the 2001 playoffs, third round, the Riverdale/Oakland game got delayed because Oakland used a smoke machine when they ran onto the field, and the smoke covered the field and wouldn't go away, lol!!
  5. I saw Fernando Bryant/Riverdale, Luke Powell/Smyrna, and played against Tim Dobbins/Glencliff
  6. I'm not real sure. I know that he had originally committed to Tennessee while he was in high school, but I don't know why that never worked out. Anyone else know?
  7. That's a good idea. These boards are here to discuss high school football and share our opinions, not to insult kids who are 18 and younger.
  8. I ran over Tim Dobbins in high school!!!!!! lol

    2006 NFL Draft

Is that Tim Dobyins who was supposed to go UT a few years ago?
  10. That's pretty darn funny that now we got Riverdale people arguing with each other on here!!!

hey 2priceless, I haven't talked to you in a while. I forget your email address and I don't have a plus membership anymore. My email is twutvols@yahoo.com
  12. This is also the same offense that Antioch ran back in the late 70's. That's where Aydelott played in high school, and my dad played with him, and he said Ron loved their coach back then and loved his system with the wing-t
  13. All I know is that everytime Riverdale is supposed to have a rebuilding they, they end up making it to the state championship game.
  14. Riverdale will not lose a region game next year. the only team that I can see beating them is smyrna, and I don't know much about wilson central this year so maybe them too

Hey just be glad that the guy eric that was a moderator for a while and kept closing every thread and thought he was God because of it ain't on here much!!
  16. Blackman never beat Riverdale when we had Rico Turner so I doubt they will do it with Mimms. Rico was a lot better than Mimms in my opinion.

    Rebuild

I would think so. What "other such things" are you talking about? Ligaments?
  18. No I'm not at MTSU anymore. I transferred up to UT to play.
  19. I don't know about FC's talent level, but I do know that they have one heck of a coach in Coach Britton now.
  20. Don't forget about me, lol!
  21. I don't think it really matters who starts where. There is no chemistry between the players when they're out there on the field. Their form is terrible and they don't look like they have been very well coached. Unless changes are made, I don't see Blackman winning but maybe 1 or 2 games this year, if even that much.

    Rebuild

This is true. It is used to "rebuild" you muscles after they have been broken down. But it is only supposed to be for people with muscle injuries. A guy I played with at Blackman took it because he had muscle spasms in his back. He bought it from Dr. Johns in Murfreesboro, but he was allowed to buy as much as he wanted to. I even gave him the money, and he bought some for me when I started taking it. And eventually I was just walking in and buying it from the doctors office myself. But I would not recommend any high school athletes to take any supplements other than protein because they do not know the full effects of what they do to their bodies. Creatine is also bad. When you take it as a supplement, your body stops producing its own creatine, which can lead to dehydration and death if it is not taken the right way.
  23. That would be awesome if Riverdale could get Crawford back. But that just doesn't seem like it would happen because I'm sure that the pay is a heck of a lot better out in Brentwood.
  24. Yeah that clearinghouse stuff is a MESS. Just trying to make sure you're eligible and all that stuff is a pain in the butt. And then going through physicals and other stuff like that makes it even worse.
