No one has been good enought to beat Maryville in 4a for the last few years. ( I think Morristown West is the only team to do it.) Morristown East fans are finally happy that they have a coach that compairs too Don Woods. Next couple of years Morristown East will have the talent to push the Maryville or Morristown West in 4a football. We still may lose to them, but atlease we are getting the chance to play them deep in the playoff. Morristown East would like the chances that Morristown West has had against Maryville. We could lose 9 game out of 10,the score could be 100 point too nothing, but their is always a chance to win. We all know that the road goes threw Morristown West than Maryville if you want too win a state championship. We need to beat Morristown West before we can worry about maryville. Playoff is what matters, who you lose too or win in the reg season will not help you in the playoff.

I would pick Morristown West as the favorite for 2007. Until someone else beat them, they are the top dog. ( I like Morristown East chance of beating west this year.) Morristown West had alot of seniors on their team in 2006. Morristown East last 2 freshman teams have gone 8-0, most of these players will be starter for Morristown East this year. Like I'll said before, let see how good East will be with Coach Hatcher having a hole year of offseason training.( Morristown West has been stronger than East on both sides of the lines. That will change this year, We now work as hard or harder than any team in our weight room.) Coach Hatcher told the team, when he got hear last summer, that they were one of the weakest teams he has every coach. He told them to trust him, and they would see what hard work will do. We finish 9-4 and won 2 playoff game. Alot of Eastfans knew we needed to get stronger up-front ,if we wanted to play with the top teams in 4a football. you can only do somuch over a summer getting stronger. With a hole year of training, we should be able to play with anybody. Go Canes!

RANGERBOOKS What"s you point? everybody in 4a lost to Maryville. If Maryville wasn't in 4a, Morristown West would have a state championship.( at lease 1) Is coach Woods staying or is he leaving?

How good will Morristown West be this year. I heard that coach Woods is leaving at the end of this school year. I sure hope that he stays in Morristown. Coach Woods has made Morristown West one of the best 4a football programs in the State. As a Morristown East Fan, I would like a chance to beat him this year.( I hope we can win) We as Morristown East fans want the same respect Morristown West has. Go Morristown!

I think Morristown East Will be strong enought up-front in 2007 to beat Jeff Co. Jefferson Co. had to beat us on a last play in 2006 and overtime in 2005. I think Morristown East got alot better as the year went on, and Jeff Co. got worst. We have alot of retuning players. We have a great Coach in Hatcher, he is building a championship team. Good luck too both teams, the game is too close to call, but I pick the Canes!

8-2 is a good, really good for 2007. If all the pcs fall into place, East could do better than 8-2. I still think we have a good shot of playing Maryville in the 4round of the playoff. Coach Seal need to find somemore help in the middle of that defense line.( Morristown West & Jeffreson Co. ran right over the center all game long)Offense will be ok, We got to get better against the run if we want another State crown.

Morristown East had a very good 2006 season. They have alot of returning players, and have a very good freshman class coming up. Morristown West is still top dog in the five river conf.( East lost to them 2 times in 2006 season)I think East has a shot of beating Morristown West in 2007. Morristown East had problem all year stopping a power running team.( Jefferson Co. Morristown West knox Carter) East was really young up front, and with another good year of weight training. East defense should be very good in 2007. The defense returns 9 or 10 starters. Morristown East now has a Coach ( Hatcher) that can get East to the next level. 1st we got to beat Morristown West, Then we can take our shot at Maryville. What do people think? Note: I think the 2007 playoff will sent Maryville to Morristown for semi game. Will it be West or East Maryville is playing?( Morristown will have the new turf field by than)

Can Morristown West beat Maryville? yes they can. Play real physical with Maryville & Morristown West win. You will not out coach them. So the only way to beat Maryville is up-front. Morristown West is the last team to beat Maryville. (2003 in playoff, I think they beat them 1 year in the Reg. season) Morristown West last year lost the battle up-front. If they can push Maryville around, they will have a chance too win. Go West- Make Morristown proud.

Morristown West dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. East needs to get stronger up-front to play with Mo-west & Maryville. Morristown East had a great year, We now know what we need to do in the offseason.(Hit the weight room hard) Coach Hatcher worked East really hard over the summer in the weight room. They still lift weight 2 or 3 times a week durning the season. This help us win 2 playoff games. A hole year of working out with all the players East has coming back, should close the strenght gap. East was only 4-6 last year & we finish 9-4 this year. Morrisown East will be better next year. Morristown West, is a very physical team up-front. If you guys play that physical with Maryville you should win. Go West- Make Morristown proud.

I think playing at BURKE TARR will help Morristown East more than people think. Speed kills, and Morristown East has alot of it. I know Mo-west RB #10 can fly, but I am talking about Team speed. Overall East has more team speed than Morristown West.( I have seen both play a few games this year) Morristown West is alittle stronger than Morristown East. ( Size of D-line & Linebacker)Key too the game, will be how Morristown East Hold up too Morristown West physical play. If Morristown East can match Morristown West physical play, they will win the ball game. Soon or latter speed will get you.Go Canes, Beat West!

I 2nd that Sugarcane. Coach Hatcher has took Morristown East to the next level in just one year. Win or lost next week, we have something to look forward 2 next year. Morristown East Will have alot of Returning players back. We keep this up for a couple of years, people will be saying " all roads to a state champonship goes threw Morristown".( I talking about upper East tennessee, I know you still have to beat Maryville)

Boonie, East has no-one playing both-ways. Morristown West Depth will not be a factor. I fell it well be really hard for Mo-West to score 38 points on Morristown East defense now. East defense is a whole lot better than people think. I hope you come down to the game. Go Canes!

To beat Morristown West you have too match their physical play on both sides of the football. Morristown East Moved the football up-down the field when they played Morristown West in the Reg season. The Turnovers is what killed East. Mo-West had alot to do with the turnovers. East has become more physical as the season went on. Against South, East was more physical than South on both sides of the football. It is really hard to play Morristown West, if you have not played someone with the size and how physical they are. Morristown East has the overall speed advange,if we can keep our turnover down, we have a chance to win. This is great for the city of Morristown, We will have a team playing Thanksgiving weekend. Alot of you Sullivan South Fans had the Score right, Wrong team Mo-East 35 South 21. Morristown East push South defense around all night. Speed Kills, South you were just two slow on Defense. Great Game by South QB, he is the real deal. I hope some of the South fans will make the trip down next week for the Mo-West game. Sit on the East side.Looking for a great game next week.

Sugarcane, I agree with you. Let see how we do the next couple of years. The talent will be their, Can Coach Hatcher take East to the next level? Level is, What Maryville & Morristown West has year in & out. We want the same respect. Coach Hatcher has done a great job this year, but we still need to win one of these games that everybody thinks we will lose.( Friday night against South) When we start winning these games I will be the 1st to say he has turn the program around.

I hope people keep down playing the Canes. Sullivan South wins this game 7 times out of ten, but that still leaves 3 times. I just feel like it our time to beat South. They have won the last two meeting and I fell they think they have won already.(maybe so) That is why the game is played. If South has an off night, Morristown East Offense is clicking, lookout. Turnover will be key, We need to keep ours down & get a few from South. No-one thinks East has a chance of winning, you maybe right. The game could be Sullivan South Air raid 45-14 win or a Morristown East up-set 28-17. See everyone friday night. Go Canes!

I do not think the Defense will be the problem.( Morristown East Defense has been a bent or break defense all year.) They have giving up yards all year. This Defense is really young, and they are keeping teams out of the endzone the last 4-5 games. The key to the game will be Morristown East offense vs Sullivan South Defense. Morristown East offense has been able to run the football against every team they have played this year. If Sullivan South has trouble stoping Morristown East offense, East will has a chance to win the game. It's hard to throw the football around when you are standing on the sideline. Last year when you played Mo-west in the 3rd round, They kept running it until the worn South down. Mo-East offense wears down defense with all the miss-direction plays. Soon or latter, with their speed, they break a long one. I looking for a great game, Go Canes!

I agree East will need to protect the football better. Morristown East moved the ball up & down the field all night against a very good Johnson Co. team. I think Morristown East defense will be ok, Coach Seal's will get the pass rush going and he will get the pass defense fixed. The defense may give up some yards to South passing offense, but you got to score points. Morristown East Defense has made the plays when needed, to keep teams from scoring points. I think Morristown East Speed well give Sullivan South some problems. I fell East will need atleast 28 points to have a chance. Go Canes- Beat South! Note: If Morristown West & Morristown East both win, The Canes will have another shot at Morristown West. I hope both teams win, this would be great for Morristown.

I think the game maybe moved too thursday night. The speed Morristown East has in their back field is really hard to stop. This type of speed is hard to stop unless you see it in a game. Their is no team that Johnson Co has played with East Speed. Go Canes!

I saw the game against Morristown East, If Boone will stay with their running more, they have a chance. Boone passing game really played into Morristown East speed. Go beat Sullivan South and show how the 5 river plays.
