Coach Wolke was an assistant/ volunteer Coach, I never said he was a teacher. However, even assistant/ volunteer coaches must submit a resume to TSSAA and be certified to Coach. Actually, I am pretty sure if Coach Wolke sit in on any prep meetings (as did Coach Middleton, the Head Coach for the freshman team last year)it was part of his job. Hope you have a great evening!

Hey Region 4 Fan, First of all you don't know what you are talking about, Because I know Coach Wolke personally, he was the coach of the freshman team last year and the freshman coaches sit in on the varsity meetings and film sessions and help on Friday nights. Second, he coached the middle school this year and coached one of my son's & he was not involved in any coaching at the high school level in any way. Third, behind most successful athletes is a very involved father. Also, David Wolke has worked very hard over the last several years to get where he is at & I hear the Coach is very hard on him. And Coach Wolke has to be a Certified Coach, certified by TSSAA to coach footbal. SO, REGION 4 FAN WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Hey, I was at that game. Smyrna offense only had the ball twice that first half, and they scored once. If David Wolke would have had his recievers catch the football & the defense showed up it would have been a different outcome. Remember it takes more than one person to win a football game it is a team sport. He can't center the ball to himself, block, throw the ball, run out there and catch it. Plus play all the positions on defense too. And it looked like to me he tore you guys up in the second half. It was a gutsey performance. Hope to see you guys next year.

There is A few things to consider at the QB position & what makes a Great QB. First, it is a team sport. What kind of Line does he have? What kind of receivers ? You must have a running game. Look at the system they have, is it 4-5 A Wide outs, or Power I Formation? Stats do not have a thing to do with how good a QB is. Look at Smyrna compared to Riverdale. Riverdales QB - has one of the best lines & running backs in the State- Hand the ball off - TD, Drop back to pass - have all day long to throw. Smyrnas QB- David Wolke, No blocking- No - Time. Hit receivers in the hands, they drop them, Wonder what Riverdale would be like with him?
