FHS Rebel - Just to let you know Jack Pittman did apply for the job. Don't know whether or not they will consider him but I think his qualifications and expertise are just as good if not better than anyone elses. I think he could be successful at a program like FRA.

First and foremost, MBA had the game won, they made the mistake by snapping the ball over the punter's head. Second if you watch the tape slowly, there were 7 men on the line of scrimmage, and there were 12 seconds to get the snap off. While it was close they did get the snap off. What everyone is seeing is Comcast's clock, not the official scoreboard clock which has the tenths of the seconds on it. Regardless of all that MBA had a chance to score and win the ball game. They couldn't do it. Everyone is taking away from the fact that BA kids played hard and MBA did not by any stretch come out and blow them away like they thought. BA kids played with heart and deserve the win. Now, everyone needs to get on and BA has business to take care of at Christian Brothers. When BA lost to Christian Brothers previously in the year they didn't make excuses for the loss. They said they lost and went on. MBA needs to do the same.

I thought I heard that Father Ryan was a much improved team from last year. What has happened then. To get beat by Knoxville Catholic doesn't seem that much improvement has occurred. Pope John Paul sure seems to be passing the Irish by fastly!

Thanks RyanRowdy for the insight. I have friends who have kids at it seems at Father Ryan, BA and MBA, I have also heard too that when Coach Pittman left there was void missing at Ryan. It seems they like him a lot too at BA. If he was vital to the Ryan program why didn't they try to hire him back when Coach Page left a year ago?

Did the coach not face any consequences with the school and/or school board for what happened? He is supposed to be an example for the students.

Does anyone know anything about the demise of Father Ryan? They used to be such a fun team to watch but the past couple of years has been borderline awful. How can a school who seemed to be on top just a short while ago fall so fast?

How come Jack Pittman, the defensive coordinator at Brentwood Academy is never considered for any of these jobs. I am friends with some people who know him and I have heard nothing but good things from both Father Ryan people and Brentwood Academy people about his football knowledge and the way he motivates kids. It seems to me that he would be a good choice for any of these schools.

What Ryan's problem is the new Board. They wanted to hire and administrator to bring up the academics. He clearly does not care anything about athletics. Why can't you have both high academic standards and good athletics? I think you can, other schools have proven that, MBA, BA, BGA, etc. It is sad to see such a school with so much tradition go down in the dumps. I remember when I was in high school (a public school) Ryan was a big rival. You knew of their tradition for winning and excellence. Now, they have let that all go down. Coach Jemison is a great man, father, and teacher he just wasn't the right person to be a head football coach. He had no experience. I feel sorry for him because the school has set him up to fail. I believe they should have went after Jack Pittman who is now at BA. He was a Father Ryan alumni, and played and coached under Boots Donnelly and was brought up under his system. He had more knowledge of the game and I believe the kids and families liked him. I believe that Ryan didn't want him because they knew he knew what it takes to have a winning program and would have fought to get the things and kids needed. They knew that Coach Jemison wouldn't fight them and would just do what they said. Now with the immenent split forthcoming, I just don't see Ryan ever being able to have a successful football program unless the administration and board changes their views.
