  1. HTV, The word is that Helton has had enough. Apparently he told principal, Jon Miller that he needed to name McMillan interim head coach, and McMillan decided to take over. This really didn't sit well with Helton and he is having second thoughts. Just can't seem to let go.....at least to McMillan. Apparently several parents called in and said that they wouldn't let their kids play for McMillan.....I guess the saga continues.
  2. Beth is doing well, and so is Drew. I know that Daryle is pulling for Matt as well. He seems to think that with the support of guys like Wilks he will do fine. No, I don't think I will be returning to K-town. Things are going pretty well here. I saw Skip McMillan today, he stopped by school and updated me on the latest buzz. You are right as long as GQ and staff stay put, there is no real hope in sight. Oh well, I guess somebody has got to be #1, too bad it was never us. Are you really thinking about becoming a roadrunner? What does Big Bubba think about that? Is that where Terea went? Skip told me that he left Central. Must have been too much to handle....you know how that goes. I am in shock over the roadrunner thing. Well, you always said that they had the best concession stand in the area. Sounds like a good home for you. I am possibly getting out of the business, moving up in the world I guess. We will have to see. I have lost your numbers, if you still have mine give me a call sometime. If you don't ask Big D for them, he's got them.
  3. Just had a son almost two years ago. Shortly afterwards I moved away. You and I used to coach together at Central. Of course I could just tell you my name, but....this is Coach T the realm of anonymity
  4. I know nothing about the situation, but I think that a young guy like Matt would do a good job. And knowing that he is a Powell guy, I am sure that he would do what he thought was best for the program. You do know who I am don't you?
  5. Kelly, What is up? Haven't talked to you in a while. What is all the talk about the pony tail? Last time I saw you, you had a haircut like mine.
  6. Maryville will win this one by at least 3 touchdowns. Mo West has some big backs, but they are slow. It may take 5 or 6 to bring them down, but that is how Maryville plays. Good luck in the Blue Cross Bowl
  7. You are right, but you have to see that Maryville has ability, gets breaks, has great coaching, desire, excellent execution, and tons of heart. It is hard to beat Maryville when they excel at nearly every facet that you listed. That is why they have a 25 game winning streak. And if they win Friday night, it will extend to 28. South or Mo West don't stand a chance. This is not the Mo West team of 2003.
  8. No, the best game will be in Maryville against the Bobcats. Sorry to disappoint you.
  9. When the team returned for half time, some students from West had peed in the water coolers in the locker room. One player drank some and was puking outside the locker room. It was one of the dirtiest things that I have ever heard of. Oh yeah, and my prediction.... Upset bobcats.... CHS 35 RBHS 14
  10. Cats roll over the Rebels like always. CHS 49 WHS 13
  11. Powell probably has a better chance this year than most, but it doesn't matter. CHS 28 PHS 10
  12. I still don't think that SD can win regardless of the situations. Powell has some wounds to heal, and some points to prove. They have dropped 2 to Maryville and Farragut, and the losses end here......for now.
  13. Congratulations! You can read. That is not what I said. I said that Maryville fans (that would be you) are posting (that would be what you did) on a Central thread. And I love the way when all else fails, we shine our balls up. We are going to have to work on the comprehension part. If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter.
  14. As a bobcat, it warms my heart to see the Maryville faithful so concerned about us that they are doing most of the posting on a central thread.
  15. I just have one question. Why schedule someone like Powell for homecoming if you knew it was going to be a big game. Shouldn't you try and schedule someone who is not going to put up such a fight to ensure a win. It is after all homecoming. I know that Maryville shouldn't have a problem with anybody, but you could make it a little easier on yourselves.
  16. Let's not get into the recruiting argument. We all know that there have been players at Maryville who did not belong. And to be fair about the situation, I am sure that there have been players for Central who did not belong there either. No one is innocent. So those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
  17. So Bigcatt, will you be rejoining the Central staff this spring and fall? Inquiring minds want to know?
  18. biggcatt, I love the naive act. you know just as well as I do when spring practice starts. To tell the truth, I am surprised you are not going to be out there
  19. I don't know who can play in middle tn, but the best sophomore in the knoxville area is Lee Smith from Powell. He used to play for Central, but he had to move for family reasons. I am glad to see that he is doing well.
  20. I would agree that McCord is a great high school running back, but his best bet for college would probably be at Maryville College. They have a new coach, and a young team that is going to get better. I don't think that Carson Newman is an option. I don't think that Milligan will ever play as a running back at CN either. His best bet is to move to qb. I think that Chris has alot of talent, but like others said, he would be average at best at a DII school.
  21. Well, they weren't high fiving. If they were congratulating each other it was on playing a good half, not having won the game. I was standing there too when they came off of the field.
  22. Pepvol, I seriously doubt that the Central coaches were high fiving each other at half time. I know them very well, and they were anything but satisfied. You can say what you want, but that is a lie! I saw them at the half. As far as Kelly goes, yes, the BiggCat is resigning. He needs a break, and I think that he has earned one. He has sacrificed a lot to coach at Central, and the program and players are forever indebted to him.
