  1. Do you know yet who all is coming and is there a schedule for this yet?
  2. Do they play Pickett County or play at Pickett County?
  3. Such a sad story. Your neighbors at Livingston Academy will remember him in our prayers. We've lost a couple as well.
  4. I think it happened two years in a row......Clarkrange won 2 out of 10 games between them those two years. Or did it just happen one year and Clarkrange won one of 5 games that year?
  5. I think Siegel plays Livingston Academy at Pickett County in a HOF game on Nov.19.
  6. That's an interesting point, and one that I've heard so many times. My response is not to argue anyone's opinion, but to commend the kids. In six years at Allons, there were 6 players who transferred from other schools, and each of them were valued players and each had a role in his team's success. On the other hand, lets not forget the other players who didn't transfer to Allons...those who were already there. They welcomed any new player and made him feel at home. And since those who transferred to Allons total 6, imagine how many have played at Allons the last six years and were non-transfers. The 6 transfers and the many others are all equally deserving of praise for their hard work and success. They were ALL great kids...and all were winners. Now moving on.......not so much as to where they were, but to where they are now. Many of them are joining kids from other schools to become part of something special....a team. God bless all of you and I wish each of you much success in whatever you do. This is going to be great!
  7. What age groups will be involved on March 16? Can school teams participate in this?
  8. Someone needs this kid on their team. Please send me a PM or post here if you have any information on a team. I'll get back in touch with you. I know it's getting late, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  9. After seeing Walker Valley lose such a heart-breaker last year in the substate to the eventual champion Livingston Academy, it's nice to see them over the hump this year and going to the state tourney. Congratulations.
  10. This was a GREAT game to watch! Very entertaining. Both teams played extremely hard. Congratulations to both teams. Both Pickett and Clay have a lot of talent. I haven't seen Clay County play this year, but I was impressed with Godwin and his court awareness. He has an enate ability to penetrate and score. CASEY FERRELL!! You really kept Clay County in the game for a while in the second half. I really enjoyed watching you tonight. I apologize for not coming to watch you and Matt more. It's just not always easy to be everywhere. Keep working hard. Thanks for entertaining us tonight. And to Matt Ferrell, I've never questioned your heart and desire. No matter what happens in your sport of choice, remember that your life is going to be defined by your good character. You WILL be a successful person. I have absolutely no doubt about that. It's nice to see some of AES's players advance past the regional tournament. I'm extremely proud of both of you. Keep your heads up and good luck to Clay County Monday against Temple. Maybe the third time's the charm. You all have some support from Overton County. Coach Melton
  11. Go Clay County! Good luck especially to my boys Matt and Casey Ferrell. I'm behind you all the way. Coach Melton
  12. I want to take a minute to congratulate LA and Clay County boys for winning the 7AA and 7A District Championships. Both teams have earned it. Several of these young men have played for me - Matt Ferrell and Casey Ferrell at Clay County - and a whole slew of guys on the roster at Livingston Academy. Matt and Casey, I was able to listen to the game against Pickett County. Very entertaining. Keep it up in the regions. Even if I'm not able to be there, I'll be supporting Clay County. To all the guys at LA, especially those who played at AES or some "Heat" AAU a long time ago, GREAT job. Like I said before, if I can't be there, I'm listening on the radio. I'm not trying to leave anyone out, but....... Matt Reeder - Congratulations on joining LA's 1,000 Point Club. Brandon Matthews - Get healthy. You'll make a big difference. Tyson Stover - Nice shot! Big boost off the bench. Wilson Cates - Congratulations on the District Tourney MVP. I'm proud of all of you. Lets have four more games at LA! Coach Melton
  13. Proving why she's a AA Miss Basketball finalist.
  14. Beechboard was fantastic! She had lots of help that graduated too.....Thompson, Thurman, and Baltimore. None of these have been replaced yet.
  15. So what would you have done differently? At what point in the game? Just wondering.
  16. I hope he quit on his own accord. Sounds like no one wants to go into detail about it, and maybe that's best. Let's let coaches do their jobs. They're probably harder on themselves than anyone else is anyway. It seems like there are more negative than positive posts about coaches on coacht. How often do any of us hear how much some one genuinely appreciates a coach's hard work and giving of his/her time for the betterment of someone else's kid? I don't know him personally, but Ricker's record speaks for itself.
  17. Looks like York is the team to beat right now.
