  1. Gordonsville plays a wide open 2-3 zones but nobody can score against it. Their record is llike 13- 1 but you don't hear anything about them. Somebody let a dowg know what's up with the tigers.
  2. Since you show such great empathy for the administrators maybe they could tell you how to apply and the salary. These guys dont make a habit of announcing who they couldnt bring in! You didnt hear Army's athletic department screaming "we couldnt talk Frank Solich into being our next coach arent you excited- he said NO to us! So were gonna hire Bobby Ross!( a guy that was fired 3 years ago)" Nor will you hear of the 3 or 4 that have already rejected the HC job. As far as the past - you must be a 49er fan. That was a good job in the 90s too. ...and another thing-- you dont impress me as a true HCHS fan - if so where were you durin the season - not a peep from you until the job opening. Monday mornin QB at the local coffee shop or a fence-railing wailer or a big fan of radio and too cheap to buy a ticket. i just state what i know- so deal with it and dont ever call me out again! (this chick probably did the superbowl shuffle in '85 and couldnt name the bears coach now)
  3. Its's not the money, it's not the asst. coaches, it's not even what happened in '85(really stretching it) - it's just not a very attractive job! This is obvious by the sheer # of rejections by contacted coaches and the far cry from applications received.
  4. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  5. I hear there may be some folks from Milan movin in to see how great it is to live in HC.
  6. That sounds about right. Swafford was 0-10 this year and scored a grand total of 66 points in east TN. S. Doyle is ranked 266th out of 317 in most polls! Since '99 they are a combined 13-38 (HC is 15-36)! They are in worse shape than South Greene, Sullivan South, Jax Southside, South Pitt and ...oh yes... SOUTH FULTON! Sounds like a typical wise decision by the great panal of experts in Henry County.- Movin in the right direction!!
  7. What an impressive win! The 1st quarter looked like a true David v. Goliath (rebs) matchup. Lewis Co had every opportunity to choke away a victory - and they didnt do it. Their backs were against the wall after the 3rd Down Hail Mary completion for a TD. They stepped it up a notch and started strokin the rebs the rest of the night. I believed I counted 3 broken helmets - THATS GREAT! Stay calm during adversity and break 4 helmets this week and it should be a great game!
  8. So three years removed from diagraming sentences, pointing out double-negatives, and requiring so many accelerated reader points for her 7th graders - Mrs Poole now determines who's qualified to coach football. Plus she herself is about to get out - HOW FITTING. Where should the blame really go??? Things are obviously bad in HC! But the icing on the cake is this joke of a panal they have organized! It's comical. It just ain't making no sense! ....Ooooppps I used a double-negative--- (worried about job security; hope bossman doesn't find out)
  9. I aint no inglish teacher or nothin but here ya'll a poem fer Veterns Day: I watched them tearing a building down A gang of men in a big town With a ho,heave, ho and a lusty yell Tey swung a beam and a wall fell I asked the foreman, Are these men skilled? The men you'd hire if you had to build? He Laughed as he replied, No, Indeed Just common labor is all I need I can easily wreck in a day or two what builders have taken years to do. I asked myself as I went away Which of these roles have I tried to play? Am I a builder that works with care Measuring Life by rule and square? Or am I a Wrecker who walks the town Content with the labor of tearing down? This is dedicated to the powers that be in HC - Look in the mirror before hasty decisions affect us all.
  10. Fellows - Quit knockin on Kriesky! He gave coach webb every opportunity in the world to hire 1 new coach when he arrived. The only requirement was that the guy had to be certified in English or Chemistry. After two consecutive yrs of bad English hires they finally got a coordinator certified in special education. He didnt last long and is currently campaign-fundraising for the Cottage Grove mayoral race and not even coaching. Like I said webb had every opportunity in the world to hire the bountiful amount of certified Chemistry and English teachers/coaches running around Paris! Kriesky is a fine example of how well an English teacher can coach! ASK CAMDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. What an absolute shame that a guy of Coach Webb's class and character could be treated the way his hometown and administration has treated him. Some things happen for a reason - he is too good of a guy and a coach to have to put up with the administrators/politicians of Henry Co. He deserves better. He was promised better - lured away from a state championship team with promises of a better tomorrow for his alma mater. You people should be ashamed of yourselves and look in the mirror. I think back to a young guy who got his first head coaching job on a team that was going thru the toughest times in the teams history. His boss promised to stick with him - thru thick and thin. Numerous seasons brought no winning seasons and certainly no playoff appearances. He was often criticized for being "too Defensive-minded" and had trouble recognizing and developing talent. This coach was left to blame himself and his OWN staff for their development of a program - that others saw as his shortcomings. The coach I'm talkin about was the coach of the Tenn Oilers and is now successfully coaching the TITANS. He is probably up for coach of the year, definitely playoff bound, and has developed talent rather nicely (especially the QB that got as much criticism as the ole coach). All applicants be very weary of the promises that go along with this job!
  12. great post - well done! NOTE: Be careful givin any film to coach sharp - especially 9mm!
  13. Jackets All-state LB will be out - next two weeks. been in hospital for internal bleeding. may be a closer game than most think! especially since they lost their kicker/punter / DE for a month with a ruptured appendix.
  14. Those X-Coaches are the problem now! Dabbling in the problem but never helping resolve the problems. And like a previous post mentioned earlier - the freshmen situation is a huge problem. These kids go thru 3 "Head Coaches" between 8th and 10th grades. The expectations, philosophies, and schools are different. The talent drops off between every grade level. Its not fair these freshmen cant contribute and be a bigger and better part of the answer.
  15. Great Reply Scrappy! Coach Webb is a proven winner - if he has somethin to work with. Maybe they should take a hard look at all those former ball coaches in the county that are now in administration if they're lookin for somebody to fire!
  16. What ever happened to Sam Womack - whats he doin now?
  17. Definitely the best HS player i've ever seen - what a waste!
  18. Probably tryin to get familiar w/ the turf in Murf - somethin' S.C. doesn't have to worry about.
  19. Moore CO is for real - unstoppable and cant be ran on! They "intentionally" kicked an onside kick to seal the victory in the wanning seconds of the 3rd quarter - which just so happened to be the last quarter! BRILLIANT!! TC pre-season scrimmage record drops to 2-91 alltime, another season lost, down the drain. TC will try to improve to 3-91 this Friday vs their old ball coach in lebanon. Should be a good one - I think the game is at 7:30 but not for sure. Good Luck Jackets!Watch for those tricky squib kicks and learn to shut-out the JV team!
  20. Heaven would help u if Coach Creasy joined your staff, because it would take an act from God to get him to leave the YELLOWJACKETS!! :justwrestle: He mightof been exactly what ya'll needed.
  21. Whats a reasonable price???
  22. Cobb is a star now as a rising soph. and Roy James could be the best around if he'd put his racket down!
  23. Heckuva game!! Great win for the Jackets - clutch hit in the seventh!
