  1. Heard there was a lot of injuries. Heard Smyrna lost one of their best players...
  2. It was an entertaining game, esp for an all star game. Mobley was a beast at rb. Azubike was the most dominate player on the line of scrimmage. Beaty and Belew were the best receivers.
  3. This is a no-brainer: snoball gets my vote!
  4. just saw this story on wkrn Ch.2 - This kid seems great. He said he'd like to get a job as a football coach someday. You can see who's influenced his life!
  5. Wyant is overdue for his shot at head coaching. Not sure this is the right fit for either him or the school. I'll just say - interesting choice. I do know this- if crabtree or creasy were given the opportunity to coach the stars, siegal fans would be pleased with the results. Both have lived in the 'Boro, have defensive backgrounds, run a tite ship, and put butts in seats. They dont run your granddaddy's wing-t! Here's some tidbits - Crabtree THREW for 4 TD passes running the wing-t while bringing Beech its first championship last week. Creasy was part of a staff at Warren Co that beat oakland runnin the wing-t in '97, part of a Henry Co team that beat oakland running the wing-t in '98 (o-land's championship yr), part of a R'dale staff in '07 that beat Oakland, Smyrna(Smyrna's championship yr), Lavergne, Blackman and Siegal running the wing-t! Neither coach would care what a players' dad thought, no matter who he was! If they had to listen to someones opinion, neither coach would care for the job! Bottom line -- WIN-- then it doesn't matter what you run or who you are!
  6. Didnt these two play each other last year? How did that turn out?
  7. The coaches' all-star team could be the best one going, IF the coaches would get off their lazy butts and promote their kids by nominating them! I guarantee the coaches know what makes an all-star better than a pencil-pushing sportswriter that probably never played!!
  8. Welcome to Friendship Christian School On a beautiful, 50-acre, state-of-the-art campus in Lebanon, Tennessee, Friendship Christian nurtures strong minds and strong faith in pre-kindergartners through high school seniors. Students commute from nine different counties to ..... I think I found the school that keeps getting brought up!
  9. "The biggest thing I've noticed about high school sports as an observer is to look at the administration and who’s coaching at some of the schools," Carter said. That's the BIGGEST THING he's noticed???? For me, I noticed that some rural schools have the best team in a generation and they're being put out by a team that draws from several different counties! I know that there are some small schools will have to wait 15-20 yrs before they have talent like they had this year and they were being eliminated in the second round. Its only fair for rural schools to play each other because these schools obtain players the same way their competition does (their players get off the bus at their ZONED school). And its not just football - has Mr. Carter not noticed how private schools have basically taken over the spring sports? Does this mean that private schools have better baseball, softball, and track coaches too?!? Maybe its the NUMEROUS zip codes they obtain these kids from? How can this be fair? Maybe its selective enrollment? Maybe its a great workstudy program? Maybe its the dollars? Maybe its the 5A kid thats tired of goin 5-5 every year and he wants to move down a few classifications where he can get more recognition, more playing time, and less of a pounding? These seem like the most OBVIOUS of differences between privates and publics. 10. I'd like to find out too! His turnaround of that program has been pretty impressive.
  11. Murry Bergtraum's Epiphanny Prince screams in celebration! Prince scored 113 points for Murry Bergtraum High School in a 137-32 win over Brandeis High School Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006,, breaking a girls' national prep record previously held by Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller. Is this Good?
  12. ... possible essay submission for improving the basketball team. I will improve my current situation as basketball coach by following the model the administration at HC has provided me and my community. My first move would be to get rid of players with discipline and character. HC has done a fine job of firing coaches with these two character flaws in recent years. Hard work and dedication will also be negatives. Next, I will be certain to change my line-up from week to week. Stability seems to be a lesser issue at HC and we could do without it on our team. My assistant coaching position will be like a revolving door - much like the principal model established in HC. People like to be led by someone different, especially in the middle of the school year. I will not be steadfast and certainly not loyal. Next, I will surround myself with chronies that believe I do no wrong. Their job will be to help convince board members that it's someone else's fault for losses and not mine. stink ups will be rewarded and my chronies will help convince others to extend my contract until around 2009. Waterboys, managers, and bookkeepers beware - I will fire them at a drop of a hat, numbers of members that fall victim to my firings will not be an issue. These firings will show my boss that I mean business and show my players that anyone is expendable. I understand these members of the team have families and are an integral part of our community, but at least the decision-makers may be convinced that my problems and shortcomings are the player's fault. Signed, Coach PS - If this doesn't work, I will move to Camden and really show what kind of Head Coach and leader I can be! After losing every game except one, I will return to HC for a possible job in administration, like principal or director of Schools - that way I can be a mover and shaker for an Athletic Department that is falling apart, I am; however, a little worried that if I run the Administration like I will run this team that I might be the next fired. ^ ^ ^ ^ (oops***** a run-on sentence - I'm Doomed)
  13. Nieve boosters are the ones that have their programs lose coaches like Rankin. Why shouldnt he put his name in the hat. He is a very hot commodity right now - a successful coach. When people get on here and say "here he goes again - he does this every year" people start to believe that they should call his "bluff." Its a good way to lose a coach. There isn't a lot a school system can do to give him an additional raise - and I can't believe their are ignorant people that think differently. ('he's doin' it for another raise' argument) If they want to keep him they better get their perks and incentives together - at least under the table OR the grass could be greener IN Cleveland!
  14. Sounds like a great game - thanks for the update. Tenn (and Beech) lost a good one.
  15. We'll see if Morris was smart to stay far, far away, tonight!
  16. Coach Williams would be a fine HC, DC, OC.
  17. Did you want a football coach or a middle school principal?! Swanson is top notch - I do know that.
  18. Middleton or Trousdale will be in ther finals with Cosby! (Just a prediction)
  19. The team that wins the battle of the BOARDS tonite will be victorious! I see the series being split 2 games to 2 after tonite - TCs defense is that GOOD. May the better team win - No excuses (like G-ville)!
  20. You gotta appreciate a coach and a staff that has their team peaking at the right time! It matters what you do in the tourney not the reg season. TC was more determined Fri nite and G-ville couldnt make a shot. Is that luck? NO - its called Defense and no one plays it tougher than TC. Anyone who blames the game on the refs are makin excuses and must not have seen the game i was at! good luck 2 both teams in the tounament!
