  1. Please post-state results as soon as you know them. Some of us who are far away would love to know ASAP!!! Thanks!
  2. How accurate can it be with no pick in two of the four first round games and somebody/somebody in every other pick. I would like my chances too if I did that. hutch v baylor - toss up ecs v. frhs - toss up hh v. st. agnes - toss up pjp v. nd - toss up hutch/bay 2 ecs/frhs 1 hh/sa 3 pjp/nd 2 hutch/bay or maybe ecs/frhs v. hh/sa possibly pjp/nd Toss Up!
  3. And Hutchison could beat a full strength Baylor team, THEY are that good. (though I think St. Agnes is the best!) Of course we are using a lot of "coulds" here. Anything can happen at state.
  4. I wonder if the area of the state where we live influence our picks at all?
  5. Here are my VERY biased predictions. Hutchison 2- Baylor 1 Father Ryan 2 - ECS 1 (OT) St. Agnes 3 - Harpeth Hall 0 PJP 4 - Notre Dame 1 Hutchison 3 - Father Ryan 1 St. Agnes 2 - PJP 1 St. Agnes 2 - Hutchison 1 St. Agnes keeper (not sure of name) MVP
  6. Postponed until tomorrow I believe.
  7. Who are y'all playing in the first round??
  8. Keepers - Cordova, Kelsey Hunt; Farragut, Meghan Rothenberg. Records - Cordova 3-1, Farragut 3-0.
  9. I feel it's a toss-up at this point. Hutchison is quick and tough but young. All starters except for the senior keeper are sophomores or freshman. I believe sweeper Abby Zanone was the only freshman selected to an all-state squad last year. Their only common opponents have been Webb, Hutchison won 2-0, Baylor 4-0, and Germantown, Baylor lost 1-0, Hutchison tied 1-1. Who knows??

  14. I see D2 as a complete toss-up with maybe a slight nod toward St. Agnes if I had to be cornered into a pick.
  15. Here are the D2 state match-ups with a comparison of common opponents. Anyone who predicts blow-outs in any of these games must have some inside scoop that the rest don't have, because everything looks pretty evenly matched to me. Baylor v. 17. ECS beat St. Mary's 2-0 in the 3rd place game.
  18. They've already matched up well. Early in the season they lost to Farragut 3-2, beat Brentwood 3-1, and tied Franklin 1-1. Any of those top teams can win on any given day.

  21. The D II West Quarterfinals are tonight at Mike Rose Soccer Complex 5:30 p.m. — (1) St. Agnes vs. (8)Harding (2) Hutchison vs. (7)Lausanne 7:30 p.m. — (4) ECS vs. (5) Briarcrest (3)St. Mary’s vs. (6) St. Benedict This year's tournament is as competetively balanced a group since the start of the DII format. St. Agnes should take care of Harding easily. Hutchison should do the same with Lausanne, but Lausanne has been capable of playing good teams close for long periods during many games but lacks depth. ECS by 2 over Briarcrest. St. Mary's by 2 over St. Benedict IMHO
  22. Well, as good as Sarah is, with the range of talent that exists across many teams in the Memphis/Shelby County area, it's not possible for a single dominant player to be THAT dominant anymore. There are SEVEN current college freshman from seven different teams in this area alone who are making immediate impacts to their respective university teams so far this year. Mathematics tells you that it would be impossible for all to have had championship high school teams even though all are great players. Emily Brown - Germantown/Ole Miss, Ashley Ferree - Cordova/Ole Miss, Sammy Gould - Briarcrest/ Ole Miss, Brooke Binswanger - Hutchison/Richmond, Heidi Ondra - Houston/Miss St, Katie Forbis - White Station/UAB. Sarah Dennis is definitely one of the best players in the state, but having one major league player is no longer enough, at least not in Memphis.

  24. I just went to soccerinfo.com and the rankings I see look like this 1 Baylor 12-2-1 2 St Agnes 15-2-2 3 Pope John Paul II HS 14-2-2 4 Hutchison 10-2-4 5 Harpeth Hall 11-4-3 6 GPS 10-4-3 7 St Mary's 7-4-1 8 ECS 10-4-2 8 9 Briarcrest 7-6-0 9 10 Notre Dame 8-5-0 11 BGA 5-5-5 this looks about right to me
  25. Didn't Baylor get beat by a weaker than normal Germantown team this year? I could be wrong.
