Don' worry, the Redmond Top 11 will change soon. They will move up the teams who are successful at region & state. Teams not on the radar screen that do well in region and state will suddenly appear and some teams will fall off the rankings board if they are knocked out.

Carson Newman and Lambuth are also a couple of good sides to check out. Both teams had good seasons last year.

Props to Brentwood, they are the only team left without a loss this year.

I'm in the west but it is obvious that the strength of the AAA is in the east this year. Big win for SH over Farragut. A battle for state is shaping up.

Brentwood and Hendersonville should not drop in the rankings due to a tie between such highly ranked teams. I do think that a tie hurts Brentwood as they were the only team without a blemish and now other teams will be less intimidated to play them.

It is easy to pick the best teams in state each year. I wonder who the best unranked teams are around the state that might be the spoilers at districts, regionals, or even state. In my area, teams like Briarcrest & White Station seem like spoiler candidates.

The City of Memphis Schools almost cut out soccer and some other so called "smaller sports" at Memphis City high schools last year. The programs were saved after a public outcry. The White Station Soccer coach is basically a volunteer coach spending his own time and efforts to help keep a decent boy's soccer team going. The soccer player's families have formed a soccer booster club and have helped raise enough funds for new uniforms,etc... The school admin view is that soccer isn't a revenue producer so the school position is to assist the "big sports". I would like to see a story about the value of sports (such as high school soccer) and the positive impact it has own kids lives. I would like to see the City of Memphis rethink it's position against non-revenue producing sports after reading about Sping Fling soccer this year in "Memphis" and see how wrong they are.

No, but my brother is a freshman there.. they scrimmage Vanderbilt on Sunday at 1:00 at Vanderbilt Football stadium and also Lambuth.. Congrats to you...They are a rising team in DII.

StayNskool, I think you misunderstood my post yesterday. I was not talkin about you defending yourself. What I meant by "hacking football" is a generic term for American Football, Rugby, Australian Rules Football, etc... My post was a response to the "hacking Football group" not the soccer group. Your posts are always quality with me.

In the West, out of REG 7 & 8, it should be Houston and the other spot is up for grabs between Collierville, Ridgeway, White Station, or Cordova. They are all so evenly matched that it could be any one of them.

Athletics of any kind should be encouraged. Competition is universal. All competitors are family. Those who dish on any other fellow competitors in sports fail to understand the true meaning of sports. Last year at Spring Fling, some of our biggest fans at the soccer games were athletes from other sports . All supporting each other. If you prefer hacking football.. that's cool.. but to dish on our sport on our boards only saddens us that you are not a true competitor but a false prophet.

I think Sheffield is a little overated. They have really good speed and individual talent but seem short in team play and organization. The back line doesn't play together and at times the better teams like CAK, LC, FRA, CCS would take advantage of this. If they were more organized I think they would be state contenders but unless they address that problem the big dogs will hunt against them.

If Farragut, CBHS, Brentwood,etc wanted to- they could feed 1 guy the ball an entire game against a cupcake and win about 40-0. This guy would then be crowned the top scorer in the state base on 1 game. This could easily be done but it doesn't happen because Farragut, CBHS, Brentwood,etc are about winning state and sportmanship matters to them. Think about it.

Peace out guys, give Bivens credit for scoring even if it is an open net because my teammates have killed several bird species this year and damaged several old trees behind goals and set off various car alarms in parking lots too close to the goalposts. I have a high respect for anyone that can slot it 21 times. Chill out dudes
