We can handle the crowd. We were in "the jungle" last week, but the loudness only lasted about a quarter. It really wasn't as loud as they were making it out to be anyway, or as loud as I thought it would be. I think there are two reasons the game is being played there. UTC is kind enough to let us use it (since they don't need it for the rest of the season. ), and our field is not in very good shape after the friendship christian game. There probly wouldn't be too much grass on the field because of the beating it got a little over a week ago. [Edited by jsh969 on 11-25-02 9:35P]

Come to the Boyd game. It'll be awesome. It's at Finley Stadium (UTC's stadium) and we need to show the UTC football team what a filled up stadium (approximately 21,000) looks like.

No. What I was saying was that I don't think that Boyd would be able to recruit like Notre Dame or the other teams listed could. I think that Notre Dame would have a whole lot more money they could use then Boyd since they are a bigger school. I doubt that Boyd would be able to do as well recruiting as a bigger school could. I'm not accusing anyone of recruiting.

They haven't played football there before. I believe they played a big soccer game there a few years ago though.

Pcountry- Please get it in your head that even though Matt Peardon is from Jasper he is not recruited. Boyd does not recruit yet. Boyd will when we are moved to dII if that happens. The people who interview and put the people in the school have nothing to do with the football program.

Hey C, do you think it could be arranged so that whoever loses friday night plays UTC in a consolation game? lol. I actually think that both teams would get beat by UTC, but thought it was funny that yall were saying that.

I wouldn't mind playing those private schools, but Boyd I don't think would be able to recruit like bigger private schools like Notre Dame and the others listed can.

Let's stop all the accusations of cheating. I seriously doubt either team cheats. I'm positive about Boyd since all the ones getting accused of being recruited have been going to the school since middle school. I am sure it's the same for Cloudland. So let's go ahead and stop the accusations and just talk football for the rest of the week.

I imagine Cloudland is a good team, but I haven't heard of or know anything about the teams they've played. Greenback is the only team I had really heard of and I really don't know how good they are. But I'm still going to have to go with Boyd, because they've beaten two 4a schools and 2 pretty strong 2a schools, Oliver Springs being one who got beat just last friday night, and David Lipscomb who looks like they may win state in 2a. Go Bucs!!

Actually, I don't think it's a matter of Boyd having the money. Actually I take that back. I don't think Boyd would have even thought of spending money to play at a college field. I think it's the generousity of UTC. They let lots of high school sports games take place there. Last week, I think it was either Cleveland high school or LFO, neither are private, played there in the playoffs. It's probly because UTC needs money from it. Also, g-ville, some of yall's fans weren't all that perfect either. Two of them came over midway in the fourth quarter and started spitting on some of our fans. That's pretty classless. I would not say roll. They might win, but this will either be a close game or a blowout by Boyd (I hope! ). Beating David Lipscomb, a 2a state contender, is pretty impressive and shows the strength of Boyd's team this year.

I wouldn't say that CPA wins easily, because according to this thread, many think Lipscomb will go to state, and we came back in the fourth quarter this year and beat them. Beating a 2a powerhouse is pretty impressive. I wouldn't count Boyd out yet.

I have no problem with trash talk as long as it does not lead to accusations of recruiting and other very unnescessary comments.

Wins and state championships don't matter. That was the past. It's like the TN-ALA rivalry. TN doesn't give an excuse about Bama beating them this year by saying, "Well, look who won the last national title!" That's stupid. Yall won state in 99. This is 02. Let's stay in the present. Until yall win again, we have bragging rights so just get over it.

In a lot of this post i have noticed that Boyd has been left out. Boyd will be the team to beat this year. If you are in 1A you better watch out cause the Bucs are on the move.

i would think that SP would win the first few games cause every one's else still has football players that play basketball that will still be in the playoff. SP will have a full team cause yall left the playoff kind of early.
