  1. Back in the late 90's, Northside High School baseball program was put on probation, I believe, for playing an ineligible player. It turns out Ronnie Carter was reading the boxscores from a spring break tournament in Nashville. He saw the player's name in the boxscore. Now the player was playing with the JV team but because the varsity team was playing elsewhere in another tournament and the tourney the player in question was participating in was not designated as a JV tourney, this was perceived as a violation. In the present situation, all Mr. Carter had to do was pick up a USJ telephone directory.
  2. Why is there bad blood between Milan and USJ? Wasn't last year the first time they had ever played? Didn't Milan beat them soundly both times? Why does Milan hate USJ so much?
  3. Right! If USJ is as lousy as the Milan people seem to think, they won't benefit from Milan's losses but some other teams might!
  4. How do you know it was USJ who snitched? Aren't there other teams that will be more likely to gain from Milan's forfeited games? Do you have proof that someone from USJ was the snitch or are you just assuming?
  5. I don't understand. How is this USJ's fault?
  6. What time do Ripley and USJ play tonight? Paper says 6:00 p.m. and I heard 5:00p.m.
  7. I believe the brackets for District 14AA boys are wrong (are we surprised ?!) in the Jackson Sun based on the way the teams finished. The correct pairings are as follows: #4 Covington vs. #5 Northside, 6 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 16 #3 USJ vs. #6 Ripley, 7:30 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 16 #1 Haywood vs. winner #4/#5 game, 6 p.m., Sat. Feb. 18 #2 Fayette-Ware vs. Winner #3/#6 game, 7:30 p.m., Sat. Feb. 18 Consolation game, 6:00 p.m., Tues., Feb. 21 Champinship, 7:30 p.m., Tues., Feb. 21
  8. The game is scheduled to start at noon. Could someone post updates as I am at work and don't have a radio?

    JCS downs USJ

Nick Latimer pitched for USJ, allowed 6 hits and had 5 so's. Both he and Matlock pitched very well but USJ had too many errors.
  10. Yes, the Teddy Bears may be small, But motivation and quickness pervade them all. Stingy on defense, Persistent on offense, The no-name Bruins will find a way to deal with Mr. Football. Congrats to Mr. Willis on his 2 Mr. Football nominations- he should win them both!!!!
