  1. Farragut will continue it's tradition next year.
  2. After 5 complete, Houston 10 - Farragut 6
  3. Houston 7 - Farrgut 6 Michael Joseph (Farragut) goes in to pitch in the top of the 5th with 2 runners on base.
  4. Final - Farragut wins 6-1. Good game for the Admirals!
  5. Farragut leading 6 - 1, they are batting in the top of the 6th.
  6. After 3 complete Farragut 5, Franklin 0. Catapano pitching great, 6 strikeouts, 3 ground ball outs.
  7. Farragut is leading 5-0 in the top of the third. Franklin is the home team.
  8. Congratulations to the Admirals on their 8th straight Region championship. You showed what this team is all about by playing with heart and a determination that you were not going to be denied.....................to quote a fan "That's Admiral Baseball!!" Plenty of motivation for the game on Friday with Science Hill. A chance to avenge an early season loss and also a chance to move on to Memphis and make history. Hats off to Halls for a great game last night. Who knows maybe both teams will meet in the championship game again like last year.
  9. Riley Jennings - Farragut
  10. Farragut and South Doyle's season is still going on so I won't comment on them. I thought Maryville was the biggest surprise this year. I know they have a lot of talent and usually make a lot of noise during the District tournament. Not sure what is going on with the program but it was not a normal year for Maryville. Bearden improved a lot over last year. Losing their ace pitcher mid-season didn't help their cause any and pitching depth is definately exposed in the District tournament format. Coach Buckner is making very good progress with the program. I think the moral of the story for the the District teams this year was pitching and lack thereof. Farragut and SD each had some quality pitching and finished 1 and 2 in the district.
  11. You can go back even farther and mention Jay Sadlowe, Davis Burklin, Hunter Rigsby, Brandon Hopkins, Chris Clark, etc. The list of qualilty players from Farragut is a long list. I guess that was the point I was trying to make earlier about Coach Pharr's program. The program that he uses has consistently created quality players (in 7 years , not counting this year, I think approx 22 players have gone on to play College ball) but more importantly the program creates quality TEAMS, 8 distict championships, 7 Region championships and counting. This fact makes me comfortable with the future of the Admirals. This year's team has gone through a tough district with only one loss. Many can debate the pitching depth but I think they have shown that they can win the games that are important. That is not to say that they were not trying to win all of the games but as all Coaches do, they will give District games top priority. Who knows how far they will go this season but Memphis is a realistic goal. The future looks good also since they are actually a young team this year with many underclassmen seeing their first varsity action. They will only get better with another year experience in Pharr's program.
  12. Past Farragut teams got beat by Maryville during the regular season, not this year, does that make this years team a better team than in the past??............poor use of logic. I can honestly say that during the pre-season I have heard this board say that Farragut will have a down year each of the last 4 years. Coach Pharr's program and record over the past 8 years speaks for itself. Plenty of baseball left to play this year before we start thinking about the future.
  13. Congratulations to the Admirals for a hard fought game and clinching the 4AAA District Championship. Congratulations to Coach Pharr for going 8 for 8 while at Farragut! District 4AAA is very tough with many teams showing a lot of improvement over the course of the season. Should make for an exciting District tournament.
  14. I think I may never personally see anyone better than Kyle at the High School level. Let's face it, someone with that ability is very rare. Both of these players have benefitted from being on the same team with Kyle and seeing his work ethic, focus, and attitude.
  15. I think they both hit close to .370 with fielding percentage around .94. These two have played on the same Summer team for many years also so they know each other pretty well.
