  1. Where is the Volunteer/Gate City scrimmage? And what time?
  2. Im not sure of the exact number but the record is held by Chucky Lindholm if Im not mistaken.
  3. Does anyone know how many points Keith is averaging per game? I was also wondering if anyone on here has seen or heard from Chucky Lindholm. What ever happened to him, I haven't heard.
  4. Recruitguru, I believe in that picture you have up, "your boy" catches that ball with his face. No offense but that's not exactly a highlight. More of a blooper. Just tryin to pull your chain.
  5. These are the most memorable for me. 1. Volunteer vs. Cherokee 2000. 27-12 2. Volunteer vs. Gatlinburg-Pitmann 2000 10-0 (First time in school history) 3. Volunteer vs. South 1999. score ? (First time in school history) 4. Volunteer vs. South 2000. 24-17 (First win in Death Valley in school history) 5. Volunteer vs. D-B in 1985 or something like that. I was very young so I don't exactly remember the year but that game stands out in my mind.
  6. I would suggest getting ready for West, (the best team you play) rather than all the BS. Cnerokee is the least of your worries right now. If they want to come to the games, thats great. For every one of those that came that was $5. That's what pays for your new helmets and jersey's. Time to get down to business. Worry a little more about the name on the front of your jerseys and not the one on the back. (so to speak.)
  7. Out of shape is pretty accurate. At the jamboree when South had a player hurt, North went directly to a knee and was sucking water and sucking wind. Not a single South player even looked winded. I know it's early and jamborees and scrimmages don't mean squat, but conditioning shows even when the scores don't count. And when you play 4 quarters and not just one, that can make or break a game no matter who you play. Lots of games are not won by the better team, they're won by the team that's left standing.
  8. Good luck to the Falcons in the Jamboree this weekend. And I hope to see the Falcons beat North in a couple weeks. If we can beat them up front we should be ok. Good luck this season guys.
  9. I got to see North play South in the Jamboree tonight and what can I say but WOW. South has a really dangerous offense. North looked like they could use a little work. Great size on the offensive line but not much in the back field. The best offensive play of the night for North ended in a fumble by the quarterback. I wish good luck to the Raiders this year but ditch the Wing-T. It will not work with big, slow lineman. Dot the "I" and run down team's throats. You have an advantage, use it. Good luck to Coach Harris and the rest of the Raider boys.
  10. the rumor is true DandDD. He wants to concentrate on track.
  11. Good to see that everyone is excited about the new conference and new season.
  12. Is tonights game going to be at Hal Henard Elementary or at Greeneville High School?
  13. It's about time to get this thing started.
  14. Great win Friday night guys. I hate to hear that about Billy. What was the problem?
  15. Can anyone tell me where Billy Begley is?. I didn't see him at the last game and hadn't heard anything about him.
  16. I just wanted to wish you guys luck tonight, especially you seniors. I have known you all for quite some time now and you truely are a special group. Win or lose. You're class is alot like mine was. You know what it feels like to win a little but you also know how it feels to lose. And I promise that you all will remember every one. Just be able to finish out your serior year knowing that you did everything that you could to make the person next to you and yourself better. You will always remember the plays that you took off that my have made the difference or may have not. Don't leave being uncertain about how much effort you have put forth. This team can be as good as they want to be. Don't ever quit. Finish strong!
  17. Great win tonight. Feels good to get in the win column. 27-7
  18. You're right. There is always a chance. If the coaches and the community can get the players to believe this, that is when we'll be successful. I know that in high school football alot of games are won before they even kickoff because of the players perception of the opposing team and their perception of themselves. I think Volunteer is definitely on the right track with or without a "W". I hope I can get out to see another game soon. Good luck Falcons.
