  1. Well, it looks like it is once again time for me to chime in! The Region definitely got a lot tougher with the additions of Livingston and Catholic. As a Falcon Fan, I am excited about matching up with our two new formidable foes. As for the annual Fulton vs. AE smack-off...Of course, by being the REPEATING STATE CHAMPS, we having ALL of the bragging rights at this point. It seems like every off season there are personnel changes, but no matter how drastic the changes are, these two teams always play classics...this year will be no different as both teams will surely rise to the top of the Region. KWalker: Good to see you back on the boards in full force. Hope you are doing well!! qb#7: Since we live in a free and democratic society, we will allow you to file for the "patent" to "Keepin it Real"...BUT we will keep our "patent" on "2003 and 2004 3A State Champions." Actually, it sounds like the only "patent" that you hold is "Designated Kick Holder" and "Director of Instigation." Go Falcons!!!!!
  2. I was thinking the same thing. Runner cant help it...he is in DEEP DENIAL!!! That's OK...we will catch his Roadrunners in Gold Balls...just give us a few years! The best Region in the State just got even better. Welcome Catholic and LA, and all their fans to Region 2-3A in 2005!
  3. And you are right, they dont shut down Broadway and all of North Knoxville, when Fulton plays a game (not to mention, many of our fans had to travel half way across the state for 2 weeks in a row, not to mention our team has had more than just one year of Great success), but that didnt keep us from rolling up the 34-6 victory. Furthermore, there are four public, city schools in the "inner" city (Central, West, AE and Fulton). Of the four, only West did not make it to the playoffs, with AE being ranked number one most of the year and losing to the Falcons on a last minute TD pass. Central made it deep into to the playoffs and had eventual State champ Maryville down, only to lose a heart-breaker in the final minutes. Now, to imply Fulton drains the city of tallent, is not only illadvised, but also is misguided and an obvious unjustifiable fabrication.
  4. A program becomes successful and starts a viable tradition and automatically you, (being halfway across the state, I might add) try to tarnish the accomplished by broadcasting bogus accusations of cheating and violations. Obviously your point of view has no merit, as you clearly speak with an overly apparent bias and with “forked tongue,” after your beloved Bobcats (the proclaimed “greatest Bobcat team of all time”) were taken down by a young, “undisciplined” Fulton team. Smells of SOUR GRAPES if you ask me!!! Please enlighten us with fact to go with your flimsy and insubstantial accusations!!! We have a kid transfer from AE and now we rival Fulmer in recruiting. The comments were just plain classless. I know it is a hard pill to swallow, with Fulton crushing the hopes of all the Greenbrier faithful and 5000+ fans that made the trip...but dont take it personal, we were on a mission…your team just happened to be standing in our way at the wrong time. BTW...I beg to differ; even Robertson County's best would not have won the game for you on Saturday!!!
  5. Sorry Mav, but I think he got you on that one. But really...Next year is a different year, different Regional makeup, different set of circumstances...anyone has a shot, but know that the Falcons are going to be right in the mix!! Go Falcons...BACK TO BACK CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Buck Coatney (Knox Fulton) is very deserving...turning around the Falcon's season and leading a young group to claim another Gold Ball.
  7. Looks like a neat site. I am partial, but Fulton has one of the better sites: www.fultonfootball.com
  8. This will be my last post on this thread… First, let me reiterate what I stated earlier. Herndon, although he had a great year in your area, he wasn’t the most spectacular Back we had seen this year. I am not taking anything away from what he did…he earned the numbers and Mr. Football (would he have posted the numbers in our Region, nobody knows?)…still doesn’t change the fact that he is fine back, classy individual and exceptional athlete. Heck, look back, I was the first Fulton Fan to congratulate the boy on the award. Everyone has the right to express their opinion (that is why we have this forum), and after I returned from the game (and yes, I supported the team by going to this game and all the other playoff games) I just stated my opinion and also, took up for the blasting our region received prior to the game. Once again, I was not trying to take anything away from the kid. People then want to come back and argue with my point…and b/c this is America, I am going to argue my point right back. It seems like people really have a problem with what I stated b/c he is the “town hero” and b/c other GB fans want to hold on to the Mr. Football as a consolation…but like I said, I don’t think about those ulterior and extraneous variables, especially when I am expressing my opinion of what I saw with my own two eyes. Second, I set here for the first 3-4 days reading page after page of GB and Middle TN people bash the Falcon players (not just the fans) for being “cocky, arrogant and brash” (I believe those comments are made mainly b/c we are a city team) and that we were underestimating GB b/c we were last year’s champs and that would ultimately lead to our demise (and this was before any Fulton fans had typed the first disparaging remark). I heard others laugh and make fun of comments about our speed, the fact that we had “Herndon” caliber players all over the field and that we were going to be pushed around by a greater force of smash-mouth “team players.” Some didn’t respect us b/c of our 2 early season loses and also asked for team stats/size and accolades, only so they could make fun of the things that were stated. (I realize most of this being from bulldog69 – the biggest antagonizer on coacht and what I feel is nothing more than the proverbial coacht heckler—don’t believe me, look at his posts…every word he speaks is a dig and is a blatant attempt to instigate a verbal war. Proud to say, we made him eat EVERY word). Many said that Heart was going to determine this game (GB although they had great heart, it really couldn’t overcome the other mismatches). Others talked about “slamming our QB all over the field,” and they would make us “pay for our lack of discipline” b/c of all of our penalties, turnovers and over-all cockiness or over-confidence. Furthermore, much of what I and other Futon fans stated was attacked, taken out of context, mis-quoted, mis-interpeted and misconstrued, then thrown back at us as being arrogant and boastful. Heck, our graduation rate was even brought into the mix. In the face of all these comments, yes, you better believe that I am going to retaliate and defend my school and the region! I would love to get on these boards and just talk football and match-ups, but people have to get carried away! Thirdly, GB and Middle TN fans, really tried to get on this thread and make a blatant effort to antagonize our fans…look back, it is well documented…so I felt that it fair to pick right back. Fact is this…tsmoke and I were both born in Montgomery County, but were raised in Knoxville. Our mother attended Montgomery Central and many of our relatives own or work on the tobacco fields that you guys refer too. We know much about the area and your teams and we have the utmost respect for the people there. Many GB and middle TN fans wanted to get on here and continuously berate and criticize the Falcons and our fans that were posting…well, I felt it just to pick right back. In the end, it was all just moot points and cant erase what either team accomplished this year!!! Enough with this diatribe… Greenbrier, great year and great run. You have a lot to be proud of! Falcons, Congrats for all your Accomplishments…the Fulton community is truly proud!!!
  9. Good Point...that is resounding evidence!!!
  10. HMMMMMMM....It doesnt take a genius to see that you are arguing that Region 5 has a strong strength of schedule and that they beat "great" opponents all year. You stated that that "Greenbrier was listed in the top 3 all year"...and that "opponents wins are higher than any team in 3A." Look...we proved yesterday that the numbers are not representative of the actual tallent level....There were a couple of teams in our region that could have taken Greenbrier, and their Wing T. We played the best from region 4 and won 33-6 and the best from the West Side of the bracket and won 34-6. So what if you beat some other mediocre teams from Middle TN...You would have been lost in the shuffle in East TN. BOTTOM LINE is that Middle TN ball is OVERRATED!!!
  11. Give it up for the Fulton Falcons, Alcoa Tornadoes and Maryville Rebels...All proved to bo GREAT CHAMPIONS!!! It is a testiment to Prep Football in this area when 3 teams within 25 miles of one another, can stake the claim to State Championship!!! Congrats to All Players, Coaches and Fans...I have really enjoyed following these three teams this year!!! CONGRATS FALCONS...BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPS
  12. You are so right...the Line really stepped it up and was the difference maker in winning the Championship!! Congrats Falcons...All the hard work paid off...Enjoy it!!!!
  13. Thanks Rocking Chair!!! I am sure our matchup will be great next year!! Where will the game be played next year?
  14. LET ME SAY AGAIN...HERNDON is a fine ball player, but he did not prove to be above any back we played this year. You guys kill me, you live in a fantasy VACUUM, where you think that the best in Middle TN is automatically the best in the state. Well, let me be the one to bust your bubble...we proved that our Team is ELITE and also proved by our 34-6 victory today and 33-6 last week, that our region is head and shoulders above the rest!!! Look at you, still grasping at your little "strength of schedule"...we demolished those arbitrary numbers on the field!!!
  15. Like I said, Average...how many yards per touch did he amass.
  16. Dont twist what I said originally...He is a good back, but not even the best we faced this year. A Harris (AE), Hightower (Lenoir City) and Wilford (Smith Co) were all just as good, if not better than Herndon. And I dont have to play against him, I saw him get taken out of the game in person! I think that the last 4 years are proof that we play superior tallent and competition in the Knoxville area. OK, he was as great player in Region 5-3A, but MY OPINION is that he was just average (ran straight-up with no signature moves) when compared to the athletes in the Knoxville area!!! Jam Fine proved to be a much better runner today!!
  17. You ever heard of TOTAL TEAM EFFORT?????? That is why we are hoisting the Gold Ball!! We didnt need your little "Political" superlatives, to have a great season!!! Any of our skill players would be standouts on your Region!!!
  18. You see a couple of people acting out and you generalize that to not being impressed with the "Fulton fans." If that makes you feel better about your loss, so be it!!!
  19. 2,000 yards vs. Region 5-3A competition...is that really saying anything???? In our region, he would be average!!! Like I said, he is a descent back, but not spetacular!!!
  20. Well, where should I start? First, Great year Greenbrier, your kids had a tremendous run. Not to take anything away from what you have accomplished, but I think the game showed that there is definitely a different brand of ball being played in the Knoxville area. The speed of the game was much too quick and GB was never comfortable getting their offense going. I still stand by my pre-game statement that Smith County had the best defense we faced…their DL and LBs were incredible…much more so than your club. GB made an attempt to stop our receivers by rolling safeties over and, like was stated before, we took what the defense gave us and exposed that area...being multi-dimensional was the most critical factor in us being victorious. Herndon is a good player, but let’s just leave it at that…good, but not spectacular….but I guess that could also be a testament to our defense. I also have to disagree with previous posters...Heart was not the determining factor today. I am sure you guys had tremendous heart, but heart doesnt help when our line is playing smash-mouth football and also couldnt help you with deficiancies with quickness and speed!!! Second, Great game Falcons players and Staff...you went out and took care of business, bringing home the Gold Ball and tremendous Pride to the Fulton Community again this year!!! Everyone is so proud of this team...fighting threw the adversities of the season and overcoming youthful mistakes and inexperience, to prove all the Naysayers wrong!!! You are true Champions!!! I was also impressed with the way T Cobb rebounded to carry the mail and then lay some serious lumber. Jam was the silent assassin, using his great vision to shred the defense. Antonio was a monster on defense. It was a total team effort and this year has to rank as one of the finest High School Coaching endeavors. CONGRATS TO THE BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPION FULTON FALCONS!!!
  21. I cant stand such idiocy...THE COMMENTS WERE INTENDED FOR BULLDOG!!! I think some of you guys work for the Washington Post, with all these misquotes!!! I am OUT, loading up and headed for the Boro!!! GO FALCONS- PLAY LIKE CHAMPIONS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. ...and we dont have to "spin" anything. We are what we are, a championship program with a championship team...like it or lump it and take it for what it is worth!!! Bottom line...We have earned our Championship and with it, the right to Talk the Talk!!!
  23. As much as I have been busting you all over this board, I would expect that you had enough...but no, you are gluten for punishment...much like Page!!! As long as you keep replying, I will keep making you look stupid!!! Learn to read moron...the martyrdom does not have anything to do with the stereotypes, but with all the comments about Greenbrier, not being given a chance, so they should give up…Which comes across as a pure case of mellow-drama. And the reason I dont post 1000+ times on coacht, is because I am too busy earning Degrees and working 50+ hours a week!!!
  24. Sorry, but your martyrdom will not help Greenbrier win on Saturday!!! "Let's not even play...let's just give them the gold ball." All you Middle TN fans play the loser/martyr role very well...it comes natural to you guys...Must be all the years of watching MTSU, AP, TSU and Vandy!!!!! Where is Page playing this weekend...OH YEAH, the Sandlot!!! And to whoever posted the nonsense about Bailing Hay and Tobacco fields...that is no predictor to who will win the game tomorrow. There are probably less than 1% of the players that make it to the NFL that Bailed Hay or work with tobacco when they were in High School. There is NO positive correlation between success in football and farm life!!! There may, however, be a correlation between those jobs and going on to illustrious career as the Janitor at the Piggly Wiggly!
  25. I guess you expect me to feed in to that post! Where is White House these days...OH YEAH, AT THE HOUSE!!!! The only thing going on at White House these day, is the Bush daughters in daddy's liquor cabinet. Give it up, and join your ball team on the B-Ball court!!!
