  1. In 2A, I don't know if anbody has mention Wartburg. The Bulldogs are 2-5 right now, but might be favored in each of their final three games against Jellico, Oliver Springs and Sunbright. I'd say if they go 5-5 then Silverdale goes to Quad 2 with Rockwood and North Greene moving up a seed.

In 1A, Friday's game between Sunbright and Oliver Springs is huge. Although I think Oliver Springs is the favorite, Sunbright has owned the series the past two years, including a win two years ago in which Sunbright scored twice after Oliver Springs was taking a knee in the final minute to run out the clock. They caused a fumble, scored a TD, recovered an onside kick, and hit a field goal to finish off a crazy game. Somebody needs to let Tom Coughlin know about that. LOL

  2. When Rockwood holds on to the ball they are a very good team. They out gained Grace in total yardage, but two second half turnovers killed them. They almost tripled Kingston in total yardage, but again had trouble holding on to the ball. Even when they played last year, the Tigers had a couple of early turnovers against Greenback that had them playing catch-up all night. If it turns into a defensive/field position type game that could help Rockwood because one advantage they do have is a strong K/P in Jared Breazeale. He can flip field position.

With that being said, I don't see a low scoring field position type game. Seymour had a big night against the Tigers last year and I think they'll have success again this year. Rockwood also moved the ball well against Greenback last year, after the rough first quarter.

  3. He is a heck of a player, and I don't think he's a dirty player. I do think there should have been a flag because once he had his feet off the ground he could have just taken him down instead of flipping him over head first. But that's just my opinion. I also think it's classless that someone from Kingston came over and cursed at him. That's the person that needs to be flogged.

  4. I hope the kid is ok and wish him a bright future...but you cant just throw a flag and say that was too rough! It was a legal tackle...no horse coller, no face mask, etc. It was just a big strong kid grabbing a much smaller kid and throwing him backwards. Again, I hope he is ok and wish him and his team the best of luck!

You actually can say it was too rough. That's why there is a flag for unecessary roughness.

  5. Could be a pretty good game, these 2 are rivals and Wartburg hung in there with Oneida.I'm not sold on a blowout.

I'm with you. I'm sold on Coalfield and I know they'll bring their A-Game. But which Wartburg team will show up? I watched them scrimmage Rockwood and I was impressed then they gave Oneiday all they could handle. But in games against Pigeon Forge and Greenback, they didn't seem to show up.

  6. I don't think the father was thrown out. He did get taken down past the end zone and I believe he was talking with cops and Kingston school administrators, but I saw him several times after the play. I don't know if he was as much going after anyone as much as possibly trying to get to his son who was body-slammed head-first on the field. When it first happened, I thought the kid might have suffered a neck injury because it was a viscious tackle. The flag wasn't against the fan though, it was against Kingston's coach for questioning the referee while he was on the field checking on the player.

I don't know any other fans. I did see the cops talking to one man, but I didn't pay attention to see what happened to him.

  7. I don't know how many guys Coalfield lost last year, but they did loses an al-state QB, all-state WR, as well as a 1000-yard rusher. They also still have some suspensions from the Lookout Valley game so I think it will be a few weeks before Coalfield hits their stride with so many holes to fill.

  8. Rockwood, had some good athletes,I really thought Sequoyah had them scouted really well. The Tigers seem to be "predictable", but show signs of big play ability, the Chiefs exploited thier inside weakness and their corner speed. Good luck to the Tigers and GO CHIEFS!

The Chiefs did do a good job of scouting and threw the ball well against a team with three secondary starters out. Rockwood might get two of those guys back this week and that will help the secondary.

  9. Sequoyah was the better team, but like Coach Webb said after the game "If you turn the ball over on four of your first five possessions you aren't going to beat anybody." The funny thing is Rockwood didn't turn the ball over in eaither preseason scrimmage or the jamboree. Rockwood is going to be a good team, but they have a tough schedule also.

  10. It might have been scoreless, but was exciting. Kingston had 2 TDs called back on their opening possession then Oneida held their ground on 4th down inside the 10. Oneida then drove from their own 12 to the Kingston 1, but then lost a yard and threw an in complete pass on 4th and Goal from the 2. Neither team did anything after that,
