  1. From all the whining and complaining about the Coach at Clarkrange, most seems to be coming from the players and their parents, is doubtful that the boys program out there will ever be as good as the girls regardless of talent. You have to LOVE THE GAME to win. Griping on here won't change anything exept air your dirty laundry.
  2. I agree. What few times I saw these boys play, they didn't play with the heart of a TEAM. the girls there play with tremendous heart. The boys need to think of the longrange goal, not individual stats or accaim. Coach Pile isn't the problem at Clarkrange, dedication may very well be.
  3. Mustang69 I thought Jones made the list too. Listened to the games and sounded like she & Upchurch sure helped the cause for CHS to get to the finals. Jones had what 8 3 pointers and lots of key rebounds and steals some times listening isn't as good as seeing and i wasn;t there, oh well, guess that's why I don't pick.
  4. To hold Beechboard and the "Lady WIldcats" to 35 points is outstanding defensive effort. Congratulations Clarkrange. Keep playing tough D and you'll be rewarded in the end. I for one like to see rebounds, blocked shot, batted down passes and the occasional stolen ball. This may be the best defense CHS has EVER played. I think you won the game, except for the score. THe last half, particularly the last quarter was disheartening. I think we still need to work on seeing the shot a bit sooner. Mnay times Snow is open for just a thought and the ball will get there just a couple of seconds late for her as well as for Jones or whoever is on the sides, the ball gets there just a second after the defense does. There is little to complain about, because we played a very solid basketball game tonight. Snow missed 6 or 8 from the paint, which is usually a no brainer. The 3's that are a shoe-in for Jones, wouldn't fall. Cravens or Ramsey couldn't connect as often as usual, but this was Livingston and the effort is one to be commended by the entire team. Coach Rogers should be proud of you girls, the fans are. You people with the York/CLarkrange argument need to let this rest, these are only kids and old prejudice NEEDS to be put to rest. THe kids only learn about it because the adults keep it alive. I for one would like to see it die and htese kids be friends. It is perfectly OK to support both teams in this county as they are in different divisions. I for one would be very happy to see 2 Gold balls come back to Fentress County.
  5. Just reading this thread. I can't believe anyone would say that "reaching in" is just cause to haul off and kid another kid. Get real people this is a game, not a venue to "rid" the world of the enemy. Classy kids do not kick another kid for reaching in. Coach Sims needs to get a handle on Rich and maybe seek some ANGER MANAGEMENT THERAPY!!!
  6. was surprised to se Herman get the technical when Rich mouthed all night long without even a warning (as she does in many games) It was a good game.
  7. I drove down the mountain to watch a good uppercumberland basketball game last night. Clarkrange played a pretty good game until the end of the 3rd quarter. Whittenburg was the only 3 point shooter open to hit, and that hurt. You need all of your players to be able to get on the scoreboard. Livingston is probably a 6-10 point stronger team, but I saw in the paper Clarkrange held Beechboard to 10 points that sez alot. The score was even laate in the 3rd when Rogers made some changes and gave up some height and that was the last even there was. Livingston's 54 was left open and hit some big 3 pointers that hurt as well. My hat goes off to the Clarkrange Girls, they play hard and they lost to a good Livingston team. The few times I've seen Clarkrange play this year i like what I see. Keep after it girls Districts and Regionals are just around the corner.
  8. I haven't seen or heard much lately about the ladies from Clarkrange, but what I have seen and heard this year tells me they are ready to play and have what it takes to succeed. Snow is a solid player and the other four guards can shoot the three. With four that can shoot the three, someone is bound to be open. I think they will go a long way this year. The chemistry just seems to be right for this group of girls.
  9. Michelle Snow of Clarkrange High School got 1000 points earlier in the season
  10. I haven't seen Monterey play, but they will have to be very, very good to beat the Lady Buffaloes this year, especially on the Range. Snow is playing excellent. Ramsey, Cravens, Whittenburg and Jones aren't too shabby either. They have a team spirit and each contribute at least one 3 pointer/game at the minimum. It should be closer than tonight's game, but I believe Clarkrange will come out on top.
  11. Ross55 I believe York will wind up far better than that.
  12. I agree Ross 55. Celina can't stand the idea that Clarkrange has put a team on the floor that has chemistry and heart and will win a lot of games this year.
  13. Tweeter, are you a college student or older. Just wondering you seem to be very knowledgeable. You predicted the starters of this game and all. It seemed to be the right combination. Jones has really, really improved since last year, and Payne is coming on back after laying off for a year. The freshmen are fabulous and Snow is much more agressive and stronger than last year. Whittenburg also performed as expected.
  14. I heard on the radio tonight a barnburner. Clarkrange Beat Jackson Co.by 2 points in overtime. Sounds like Rogers has a group of girls who want to play ball and want to win, I wish them the best.
  15. where buffalo fan lives is irrelevant the commentary is what is missing.
