  1. You said it yourself, you were screaming at the computer screen. A true fan would have been there to scream it. You don't need to knock the coach if you weren't even there to see it.
  2. You may have watched Kirk Haston play ball but you obviously don't know much about him. Perry County is his home. It's not all about money like at private schools!
  3. Don't worry, PC will pack the house. Congrats to McEwen on a good season!
  4. In Perry County we love our basketball tradition. The Rhodes family have been a huge part of Perry County basketball. Dave Rhodes was a great player and then coached the 1976 and 1977 championship teams. His sons both played at state level. His youngest son was a starter on the 1997 undefeated team and made all state that year. Mike Rhodes (Dave's brother) set multiple records in 1976 and 1977 and I think some of them still stand. His youngest son is a starter on our team now. Bruce Slatten coached the 1997 team that our current coach, Kirk Haston, played on. This year's team is a great group of kids who are adding to our proud tradition!
  5. I understand what you're saying. In the 50's there were two high schools in PC. A few years later, the high school in Lobelville was closed and the students were bused to Linden. The one in Linden did not close it just became Perry County High School. Therefore, it is the SAME school just buildings have changed since then. This is probobly why TSSAA changed it. I don't have a problem with you, mtownballer, I have a problem with the other someone TRYING to tell us we don't know the history of our own school! Good luck to McEwen in the tourney. Hope we get to see you on Saturday in the finals.
  6. Linden High and Perry County High are the SAME. You are arguing with people who have lived in PC their whole lives. You are an IDIOT. FACT
  7. Funny, Memphis01 seems to have nothing to say anymore.
  8. Memphis01, you obviously can't read. This thread is about PERRY COUNTY. If you couldn't care less about PC then shut your mouth and go somewhere else.
  9. Coach Slatten did a good job at PC. He cared about his boys and still does. He put everything he had into that team. I know he is proud of what Kirk has done this year. Kirk learned from some of the best (his grandad, Slatten, Knight) and he is proving it.
  10. If I am not mistaken, none of the teams that the finalists played on made it to the state tournament. No one player makes it to the district, region, or even the state tournament on their own, it takes a team. Perry County had a great season. They come from a really tough district and there were a lot of really good teams in Single A this year. Congrats on a good season Lady Vikings and way to go Alicia! We love you!!!
  11. For the record, PC has three seniors and one has not played all year because of an injury. You may have been confused because one of the managers is a senior. She would make the fourth senior. Coach Lee is doing a great job. I hope he keeps it up. Good luck to him and his girls!!!

    Next year

Perry County will return 4 starters, two of whom were all state this year as sophomores. They have some of this year's freshman players who are continuing to mature and will be able to contribute and some pretty good 8th graders coming in. I think they'll be tough for the next several years.
  13. Can anyone tell me who made the State All Tournament team in Class A?
  14. Perry County didn't make it to the final four in the state tournament by pure luck. They are a very talented team who have received little respect this year. I'm not sure why this has been the case. I have not seen Peabody play but have heard that they are a very good team. It sounds to me like a lot of the Peabody fans are taking this game for granted. Well, one thing is for sure in the state tournament, you can't take ANY game for granted. I am not even going to attempt a prediction because I think it's to close to call. I do know that Perry County will come to play tomorrow. Win or lose we are proud of our Lady Vikings and look forward to more years of success. Go P.C.!!!
