  1. Bryant - He lies about everything. Says he's in college, beat you, etc. Look at his post. If he's a high school graduate, then that school didn't have a literacy test. He's a wannabe that neverwuz! See you at state. Fourth in D2. Wow!
  2. importedjaket - can you come out and play? What happened to all the intellectually stimulating posts?
  3. Not to step on toes, but this thread and the first post are the major problem with coaching in high schools today. A coach made a decision - and parents don't like it. So the parents now are going to sabotage the coach because they don't have the faith that the coach is doing the right thing for the team. The parents don't have to come on and say, "Coach ??? is a horrible person because..." No, they say the basketball coach at EH, etc, etc, etc. Why not? That's real discreet. If they don't like the coach's decision, there are avenues to discuss/protest, especially at a private school where influential/monied people have a lot of pull. Go to the A D. Go to the principal. Don't whine on a public board! The parent who started this thread is a bigger problem. My suggestion would be to eliminate the bigger problem! If he doesn't like the direction we're rowing, throw him out of the shell! Get rid of the cancer. If you're reading this, Coach ???, parents like this will continue to cause problems, so do the right thing for the rest of the team.
  4. It appears gitusome is the father. No wonder the kid is so tough.
  5. Good thoughts Motlow. One of the major problems in education is that we have a number of teachers in the profession only because they have to teach in order to coach. I realize some are going to take this the wrong way, but how many P E teachers are football or basketball coaches? How many physics, biology, mathematics teachers do you know who went into teaching so they could coach?
  6. When I read this the first time I didn' t think there would be artificial barriers. Small rural schools would have the same opportunities are big urbans or private schools. goodsport - would you have any divisions? For any reasons? I think I know the answer but I'd rather hear it from you. What chance does a small school have?
  7. jaket18 will you answer the questions? How does a high school sophomore ref high school games? When did you earn FIFA certification? Let˜s see, it was posted somewhere that you were outscored about 2-35 in only four games last year? Come on, who did you beat? You must really be good if you play on a team like that. And college coaches filling your seats? I˜m sure all college coaches are looking for players from teams that win one game a year but have players that can knock opponents on their butts. With a rep like that, you might want to skip Indiana or Duke and go directly to Ajax or Real Madrid. At least there you won˜t have to write English. Seriously dude, try ˜spellcheck.˜ Can you spell loser? From your previous posts, probably not!
  8. Excuse me west tenn. When did gatling make the dramatic change to trash talking then? Go back and read his posts. He seems to be one dumping on people. If he was that good a wrestler, then that explains his posts: he was practicing on the mat when he should have been working with grammar text and dictionary. And cornpop - watch yourself. That night Clarksville was the better team. Ok, Clarksville bumped up too but don't start sounding like gatling. I've read your posts before and you have more class than that. I doubt Coach Simpson needs anybody's help when it comes to wrestling. His record speaks for itself.
  9. You can't be serious. You said "i am a ref for fifa" and now you are passing English classes "with 97's.' News flash - what are the age limits and qualifications to become a FIFA referee? Not a USSA or TSSA ! A FIFA referee. Surely you can't be a high school student and player at Fairview. I've lost all faith in Fairview High School's English department.
  10. Good job. Two posts and no whining. Do we detect a bit of maturity? By the way, how's CBHS doing? Beating up on all those west Tennessee power houses?
  11. Great idea. But it will never work because it's too simple.
  12. Gatling - Sly's dog has more friends than you. Can probably wrestle better too. Congratulations tho, this is the first post in a while that you haven't been crying about something.
  13. It's ENVY dude. Check out the name: mat "maid" Thanks Sly. Never heard of her before but then I'm not on a lot. I think Tman had a pretty good post. He complimented Brentwood and made some suggestions. Not exactly a reason to gun him down. Envy!!!
  14. Yes. I thought Mr Nick was being pretty respectful initially. But the importjak got smart with him. Don't worry about it. The importjak thinks he's an expert on everything. He even says he's an internation ref. Also, thanks cause I've never heard of Fairview either. But good luck this season Fairview. Hope your new coach is successful
  15. Good summary ELA. If people don't think this is major for Tennessee and high school sports in general, they have tunnel vision. As to someone's remarks about the Yankee's and their big payroll not winning the series, get real! Yes it takes more than talent to win, but sure is a lot easier to win with talent. The reason "Hoosiers," "Rudy," and yes, even "Rocky" were so successful is that they were about underdogs. "Remember the Titans" is a prime example. One of the reasons all these movies was so popular was that the scenario doesn't happen as often as the big, bad, powerhouse team winning. I'm not a Yankees fan, but I'd rather have their payroll and talent that the Sounds. My chances for winning would be much, much better. Thinking otherwise is pie-in-the-sky.
  16. Whoopee. You're a fifa ref. So are 10 and 12 year olds who can pass a test. So it's closed. We're not exactly talking rocket science. As stated all TSSAA sports are the same for testing officials. Do you honestly believe that the ability to take a pencil and paper test equates to good decision-making? I'm sure you are always the center ref cause you're so good. And surely you never missed a call. Calls are missed if there are two or three refs. Except I'm sure you. Also, anybody reading (? interpreting might be a better term) knows why you don't like tests. Try using normal grammar rules. Maybe if you'd spent as much time studying English as you did fifa, you'd be much more understandable. Still rather strange, but at least readable.
  17. Mine: Soddy: It will be close but lower weights will do it! Clarksville: Then a big drop to the next. Cookeville Overton Kenwood

    best in 160

The best are: Gibson, Pack, Byrd, Beasley, Thomason, Donahue. It should be interesting this weekend. It looks like Pack should win again. But if Donahue ever decides to get mad and be aggressive, he just might take it to pack. I've seen him twice and he's decent. Did he move in from out-of-state? What year is he? He and Byrd have to be the tallest 160's in the state. I'd like to see the two of them go at it.

rebelraper - do you talk trash everywhere? You are as ignorant about wrestling as you are about other sports. At least that's what your posts show. By the way - you don't have to include, "Read my post. I'm stupid!"
  20. Not all D2 would be champions. In fact, I think it would be very close, and that will change from year to year. Sly is right. After the top level, D1's would walk away with it. D1 is too deep. Forget it. The split is here and it's here to stay - unless there's something worse to come along.

    VA Duals

Don't you get tired of hearing the same old things all the time? How we can never have a state champion unless we have only one classificiation? Wrong! We are split. We have schools that anybody can attend and schools that only select kids can attend. Maybe some people can't figure out why if they're not good enough to go to school with, they are good enough to wrestle with. Come up with whatever reason you want. It's really just a smoke screen for the real reasons. Think about that. And to those of you who posted notes supporting me, thanks. I was wondering if I was the only person.

walkenvol - Get a life. Find something else to do but write you nasty notes. Logsdon has his way and he's good at it. Too bad you're not as good. You and your private school supporters must hate it that Bradley is so much better than any of you - and then won't go along with what you want. Good for him. I've always respected his teams but ever more after reading what you always post. He's too slick to even give you and your private school people the satisfaction of getting beat by him. Why don't you and your private school cry babies start your own league. Then you can have more to brag about. Better yet, start your school a league of itx own and you can declare yourselves World Champions like we do in baseball.

    Any Opinions?

Thanks for your perspective Trackman. Some of the people worried about the good of soccer seem to be using the same thinking as the ones debating the split of TSSAA. They talk about what's best for wrestling, track, of whatever and not what's best for the athletes. Who made soccer more important that kids? I'll bet soccer would get better soccer players if we had programs like AJAX Amsterdam or Real Madrid. We definitely would get better training then. If the idea is to provide the best experience, then why not go first class? This whole thing is crazy. Leave high school sports alone.
  24. After reading the background and all the rest, it appears all this posting is akin to debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. A tremendous waste of time and effort. Split it now. Completely. Separate tournaments. I guess schools could play each other during the regular season. Cut the number of regular season football games to nine with the tenth week being the first round of playoffs. Four teams advancing is too many too. The season runs into basketball. Private schools can have as many divisions as they want and so can public schools. Schools can have restricted zoning or open zoning. Schools can recruit internationally if they want - and not just in tennis.
  25. Let's see. 4th out of 16 isn't bad. What is it that bothers your really? Nobody's perfect. You can't expect to win all the time. Is it that 3 public schools beat your butts or something else. johnco = loser; crybaby Good job Marable and Alsobrooks. If it hadn't been for y'all, no telling where CBHS would have finished.
