I've seen Watertown play a couple of times this year and it is evident they are still a year away from being exactly where they want. Having said that, they have the ability to get a top 4 seed in their district and with a little luck, could be playing for a district championship. They need their juniors to step up, take control and lead this team like they are capapble. There are 3 freshmen for Watertown that have an opportunity to be special. The strong post has a strong solid body and has as good of post moves as anyone in the state. She just needs shot of "play hard all the time". The 2 guards are excellent shooters and one of them is leading the Tigerettes in scoring about every night out. This team still has a chance to do well this season if they get their act together.
I am in no way saying that it is ok to play illegal players in tournaments. But, in most of these tournaments you guys are talking about are not sanctioned. Therefore, as far as the roster goes, it can change from week to week if these tourneys are not sanctioned. I am in no way trying to bash or question anyone's honesty or integrity.
I saw the scoreboard and Watertown drilled Red Boiling Springs 17-2. Wow, I did not think this would happen. Any Red Boiling Springs followers at the game? Any details?
How do you think this district will turnout? Will anyone knockoff Friendship? Does Westmoreland or Watertown have what it takes to make a run.
Here are my predictions:
1. Friendship
2. Watertown
3. Westmoreland
4. Gordonsville
5. Trousdale
6. Mount Juliet Christian
7. Van Buren
8. Boyd Christian
Sounds like a disgruntle parent. I don't know the situation and I wonder if you do? Some kid may have dropped a couple of fly balls, but have you looked at what he has done at the plate. I have no idea but, I do know Coach Messer and he will do everything in his power to give his baseball team the best chance to win. As far as throwing "Cherry", you obviously do not know much about pitching or baseball. If a kid throws more than 20-25 pitches or maybe even 2 innings, he does not need to comeback the next day to prevent having arm trouble.
I don't know there record, but I saw on the scoreboard that Watertown put up 23 runs on Red Boiling Springs. From the other posts I have been reading, RBS is probably the district frontrunner on the other side. Is Watertown for real?
Lynn Burkey Greenville High School
Michael Burt Riverdale High School Clifford Coleman
John Wild Lawrence County High School Michael Holman
These high school coaches should be able to get you in contact with the AAU coaches. I hope this helps.
Who are some of these guys that you are talking about that could take BA over the top this year? How is their pitching and who are the best hitters in their lineup?
If you want to test the waters a little. Tn Express (Michael Holman, Lawrenceburg), Tn Gold (Clifford Coleman, Murfreesboro), Tn Stars (Lynn Burkey) all have very good 13yr old teams this year. You might want to give them a call and see if they would play just to see how to gauge your team. I would say you have an outstanding team, but most of the girls on these others are upcoming 9th graders I believe. Just passing some info on some good teams since you said this was the first year they had been assembled.
I know Clay County typically hires from within, but would or are they considering their options outside of the county. Having seen Celina play several times over the years, they have boatloads of talent for Single A and have great AAU a program so this would seem to be a great job for a young enthusiastic coach. Some of you Celina fans respond and let me know what you think b/c you are definitely a big part of the success because of your support for Coach Sims and those Lady Dawgs.
Pat Summit--Tennessee
Mickie Demoss--Kentucky
Stephany Smith--MTSU
Andy Blackston--Austin Peay
Mike Morris--Samford
Rick Pietri--South Alabama
These are the head coaches that were there. There were probably more, but I did not see them.
The Range where the buffalo roam will have another gold ball come Saturday evening. If they can hit 6 threes', then they will be crowned state champions.
The power must have went off in Sevier County after that loss they took tonight. Or,,,,,,,,,,everyone's computer has a virus. It is called Powellpounding virus.
