  1. Possum, What would you classify as a "non-contact sport"? Just curious... JJ
  2. I see Whitwell has packed their non-region schedule with some tough opponents...LOL
  3. well i dont know about everyone else but it irritates me to have to read and then reread a post just to figure out what the person was trying to say i mean just use a period and a capital letter here and there and it makes life so much easier for everybody however if you are in such a hurry that you cant take a nanosecond to punctuate then you are excused from doing such things Just kidding guys...GEEZ!!!
  4. I just found out that Stoker did not throw against Marion Co. Instead, they threw a couple of 10th graders against them. I agree with Dice, there are some bad single A teams out there, but guess what? There are some pretty bad double and triple A teams floating around as well. South Pittsburg is an average single A team and they beat Marion Co. Just because you play in a smaller division does not mean that they have inferior players. The larger schools have an advantage because they have a bigger "pool" from which to find talent.
  5. Did Stoker throw against Marion in the game that ended 10 to 9? Sounds like it was a pretty exciting game.
  6. Have you guys ever heard of periods? They are the little dots that go on the end of sentences. You place them there when you have completed a thought.
  7. I agree that it is tough to predict what will happen. I was only giving my thoughts. Those who are doing the polls can not see every team in the state play. They have to rely on the information that they are given. There is no doubt that Halls will have a good team. But, I don't know if they will finish in the top 10. I believe that USJ has a pretty good shot at winning another state title this year. [Edited by JumpinJack on 3-2-03 9:24P]
  8. No way Boyd belongs in the top 10, much less 5th. Halls problably shouldn't be in there either. Chattanooga Christian probably deserves better than their 8th place spot. Just my .02

406 for a high school field??? I guess you guys don't believe in the "long ball".

OK, Hickman is a decent pitcher, but I think you are taking it a LITTLE too far. He's not even the best pitcher in the region. I'm pretty sure that you were just kidding...at least I hope so I never said that they would finish second, I merely stated that they SHOULD finish 1st OR 2nd.

They will not be nearly as strong this year. Losing a couple of key players will definately hurt them. However, they should still finish first or second the district they play in because it is terribly weak.

    TOP FIELDS

I will have to agree with Hawk on this one and say that Lookout Valley has the nicest field in Chattanooga and surrounding areas. You don't see many places that have a great field, nice press box, two out door cages, and an indoor practice facility. Very nice.
  13. I think that Boyd has collected way too many athletes on their team for the Landers to win. Boyd will win by a couple of touchdowns. They won't be able to hang with all the talent that they have brought in. Boyd 35 Cloudland 21
  14. Cheerleaders are athletic...NOT athletes. It is NOT a sport...it is an event. I am not trying to be disrespectful. Many cheerleaders are very athletic and talented. However, I find it had to classify what they do as a sport.
  15. Has any one here had a teammate leave and go to a private school? I have...in fact, there were two of them. Do you think that it left the rest of us feeling betrayed and upset? Yeah, a little. Private schools don't recruit? You be the judge. The two ball players played on a summer ball team and the coaches just happened to be fathers who had kids that attended the private school. Throughout the course of the summer, they were persuaded to change schools. Now, is this recruiting? Dingo, you stated in a previous post: " "-some private schools have people pay the school's tutition for some athletes or they pay the parents to pay the tuition" Again, you say "These are the facts." I wait for your proof. I could just as easily say, "When public schools face the prospect of a good athlete being declared ineligible because of grades, they just shift that athlete into federally protected special programs." I have defended you on other threads from this accusation." I can give you an example of this happening. The incident was reported to Ronnie Carter. Ever coach in the District knew this kid could not pay his way to the school. However, Ronnie Carter said that he was on an Innercity Academic Scholorship (not sure of the exact name of the scholorship/grant) and therefore he was eligible to participate in athletics. This is FACT.
  16. Yeah, looks like the private schools have went out and built themselves more good teams this year. Hopefully, Cloudland can take care of business.
