  1. One of the biggest rivalries has to be the Big Buck Bucaneers and Yuma Wildcats. There is standing room only at any of their Bowling matches.

    2A Matchup

My point exactly, Huntingdon is a legend in their own minds. I refer to my post of March 28 "If I was the Huntingdon Mustangs with all of their talent and could not be state champions this year, I would change my school colors and my mascot." McKenzie doesn't go around telling everybody how good they are, Huntingdon does. West TN has heard about the 'Super Sophomores' for 2 years and now they are seniors. I expect no less than an undefeated team and state championship for The 'Stangs. West TN has heard Huntingdon "Talk the Talk" but so far they haven't "Walked the Walk". So once again I repeat..... "If I was the Huntingdon Mustangs with all of their talent and could not be state champions this year, I would change my school colors and my mascot." You last post was childless, quit living on past years records.....What have you done lately???

    2A Matchup

I knew it would not take much to get you going. ha ha I guess you are whinning when you think huntingdon should have beat the Rebels by more. Why is it that when the enrollment is counted Huntingdon is always in a lower classification, just after the classification Huntingdon has more students than McKenzie...check the lastest figures.Huntingdon has a good program but not as good as Huntingdon fans think. Huntingdon of today cannot compare with Huntingdon of 1966. Face it, football doesn't mean as much in Huntingdon as it used to....The Mustangs are becoming a girls basketball school.

    2A Matchup

For the past couple of years huntingdon has played the McKenzie Rebels in game 10 and got physically beat up. Then they have lost to 3 or 4 seeds in the first round of the state playoffs. The ponies are strong out the gate but cannot make the championship run. If I was the Huntingdon Mustangs with all of their talent and could not be state champions this year, I would change my school colors and my mascot. Huntingdon football is getting overshadowed by the dynamic basketball and baseball teams in their school atheletic programs.
  5. Some good books mentioned. I have to agree with "Friday Night Lights" and "The Junction Boys".
  6. Adamsville will not win 2 games in their region.
  7. Don't forget Bobby Hayes for the Huntingdon Mustangs, went on to play for the Denver Broncos.
  8. Bobby Sharp is a good coach, but he could not do any thing to help UTM. As a matter of fact, Paul 'Bear' Bryant couldn't help UTM football.

    go mckenzie!!

I expect nothing from Mitchell but a class act. Mitchell is the host team and will act accordingly. They do not want to get a bad rap as TSSAA officials will be observing the game. Both teams are to be commended for getting this far in the playoffs. Both teams need respect from the NEWS media. Neither team has gotten the respect from the media. I hope McKenzie can play up to expectations and bring home another Rebel victory against a good team called Mitchell..GO REBELS
  10. Popeye Jone, Dresden,TN Dallas Mavericks
  11. There should be no excuses win or loss, bothe McKenzie and Lewis County have outstanding football programs and coaches. Coach Bobby Sharp has coached in Milan and McKenzie and Coaches Spivey and Watkins played football in McKenzie. McKenzie and Lewis County have mutual respect for each other. McKenzie just happened to come out on top this year, but Lewis County will be ready for next year. They have plenty of talent and always give anybody a run for the money.
  12. I am sure that Mitchell has a good football team as does McKenzie. I believe both schools have not got the respect that they deserve as a viable football team. The media is too wrapped up in past performances from other football teams to give due respect to a school that is having an exceptional year. I hope that whichever team, Mitchell or Mckenzie, wins the Friday night game goes on to become the Class AA State Champion. Then maybe the lazy football pollsters and sports reporters will finally decide that each year is a new year and give respect to teams that deserve the respect. Maybe it is time to consider Mitchell and McKenzie FOOTBALL POWERS.
