  1. Exactly. I love the balance on offense with our best quality being running for sure. The threat of pass plus a 6'3/6'4 Wr with hands and basketball skill set is dangerous at the high school level. Also I like the TE play. I think the biggest problem I could think for now was taken care of last night as well. Which was.... could HCs back end and linebackers hold up against a passing attack. They answered that call. I really like this team the rest of the way. And yes I think we clean up the rest of district 10AAA with no problem. Which we should... and should ever year finish 1st or 2nd in a sub par football district. Just my opinion. I think the coaching staff can fine tune some of the mistakes if any through out the rest of the season and with a start like this 2011s team could have some company. Let's finish. Great job everyone involved in the football program.
  2. Wow. Give not only the credit to the players that got the job done, but also the coaching staff that has moved, developed players, and schemes since coach Counce has taken over.... adjusting to his teams year to year. I did question last years first round out was simply not throwing the ball deep enough making other defenses at least have pass on their minds. This year. Problem solved. I think the play calling has other d coordinators on their toes and having to worry about two ways of getting beat. On the ground and through the air. Example Ridgeway loading the box and taking a shot downfield for a 40 yard rec.. The hurry up against Beech another great example of using a full week to prepare against your opponent. Good job and keep up the innovation.
  3. Yes they most definetly played to their strenghts in 11'. Coaching staff made many adjustments from 2010 to 2011 with the players they had coming back. I have no problem with the way they call I just think that style of play is built for a team like 11' and i dont see that type of team at all in even our up coming years. I do think youth/ injuries was a huge part of the 1st round out. And when I point out throwing more. I dont mean 23 attempts just more than 7. I know we are best running the ball but just a bluff/threat is going to open it up more. Id consider anything over 50% completion percentage is more threat than bluff too.
  4. I just hope he is talking about our Patriots. Im not doubting or checking olddevil at all. Im just ready to see more of a passing game go along with our already stout running game. Its already proved to be efficient now more attempts and balance could brew up another deep run for gold.

  6. I don't think you are talking about the Patriots when you talk about the 4th qb coming through being able to throw but maybe you are and I hope so olddevil. HC must develope more of a passing attack or we will be left for well...we will be waiting on the senior dominated team which could get 10 yards on a full back dive (i.e. 2011 state champs) which was a heck of a team and najee did throw well when needed. Also the D and special teams were great. The Patriots got bounced by a memphis team that threw the ball 23 times i believe to our 7 times and HC completed 4 of the 7 which begs me to ask why not throw more?. When HC gets the the playoffs we have to be better all around unless we have a team that can match the will of any team in the state like last year which it took a long time for that to come around.
  7. Being a Henry Co. fan what you pointed out about this year is true but that's with the two top teams in the district. With that being said I have to be real and let you know year in and year out 10 AAA football is not a tough district as a whole. Not just the top two teams because we know that on most friday nights HC and NE (I dont even want to mention Kenwood) will hang w/ just about everyone in 5A. As a whole 10 AAA is not a tough district. That is in my eyes because when I went to HC we were in the district with bigger Nashville schools like Brentwood and Franklin.
  8. Good write up...better questions. 1. With the depth of players and the program on the up I can see the Patriots losing 1 game if any in District 10 AAA next season. Saying that it sure would be exciting to see a power house 6A team on the non district schedule week 0 or week 1. Simply to keep the level of play seasoned and ready for tough tests down the road. Wouldn't it be nice to beat a Brentwood or Franklin. Just saying. 2. Storme Hilliard- keep this play maker right at home. He plays with great confidence at DB and Kick and Punt returner something the Patriots fans haven't seen before this year. Use his ability at WR or RB/3rd down back even. 3. Groom a QB. Calvin, Teague, and Najee all had more than one year at the spot each successful. The cream will rise to the top at that position. 4. I would like to see Brandon Donaldson used at TE or H back however our coaches scheme it up. simply to give him more touches in our offense. Our coaches can find ways to split him back out at WR when need be. His size is just simply a mismatch agsinst any DB or LB. 5. Our fronts should be ok. With our S&C at a great level our coaches should have plenty of boys to choose from in the spring and should be able to take district 10 with ease ...a deep playoff run is another issue...just a part of rebuilding. I just touched on a few and of course my own opinion. Good stuff redswarm 10.
  9. Ive seen the MBA team this year they are quite huge up front...and always talented...Seen where they had one of the best D-lines in the nation as well.... Last year they had Chris Jordan..which is now at Alabama?? I believe 4A has to be the most exciting football in the state!
  10. 40 times are over rated and they alone do not get you into college...but...every kid wants to have the fastest time and they have lots of fun with it, it's still used alot to determine different placements of players, and will always be talked about. Saying that....when anyone gets on here and talks about 40 times...nobody can control someone getting on here and saying Teague or Gordon are faster than anybody in the world /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> My point they do matter, are used, and need to be talked about... Chris Johnson will tell you they matter.....Who wants you and how much money you make /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  11. BurroBall How good is the the Hillsboro Defense?? If you were to grade the performance of Hillsboros D-Line, LB's and DB's what would you give them each?? Making it to the Final Four im sure you would give them a great report card!......Which I dont believe I would give Henry Co. anything below an A-... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. Who cares about 40-times?? (next level coaches also use a shuttle time as well) Too many names to list so I will make categories... 1.HS Coaches 2. College Coaches 3. NFL Coaches 4. FANS!! lol Got to love your teams being in the Final Four!!!
  13. Zach is that fast huh??? Could you see him starting over his brother at UT next year?? Crutcher is a soph., jr. ,or senior?
