  2. Results YOMCA Wildcats Oak Ridge Bulls Future
  3. Yomca beat the Wildcats in the Championship game. The game was very close as both teams made runs. The Wildcats were up 7 at one point late in the second half before YOMCA made a great run to take the lead. The YOMCA team hit all free throws down the stretch and their main guard #22 came up big at the end of the game. Congratulations too both teams. It was a great game to watch.
  4. Heat1, What Nashville 11u teams played in the state? How well did they compete? Did they lose close games or get blown out?
  5. Jadoka, The only team that has significant depth is YOMCA most of the other teams have a short bench. Especially the Future and the Shooting stars. I would favor YOMCA to place first and it is really a toss up from there. The Future definitly has a shot at winning it and so does Oak Ridge and you can't count out the Wildcats especially if their bench can step up and play hard.
  6. The 13u state looks really tuff this year. All of the teams participating are listed below. Tell us who your picking and why. Rank these teams from one through eight after the tournament we will see if anyone gets it right. Knoxville Cagers Oak Ridge Bulls Nike Select Memphis Magic Memphis YOMCA Shooting Stars The Future Wildcats
  7. Alley-oop, I agree the Mid-state Ballerz have a class team with good coaching. However the other coaches are not just about winning at any cost. Why make that statement? At this age it should be just about the kids and not about the coaches at all. Most of these coaches are not paid and spend alot of time working with their teams to help these kids improve their basketball and life skills. The best coaches like John Patton with Nike Select provide a great leadership example for their kids on how to succeed not just in sports but in life. I know that Patton makes sure his kids are succeeding academically. Alley-oop several of the coaches I know are like this.
  8. Results Wildcats 6 - 0 Future 4- 2 Shooting Stars Nike Select Mid-State Ballerz
  9. The results for the 13u YBOA substate are listed below. I saw all teams play and was very impressed with all five teams. Even the mid-state ballerz who did not win a game had a very talented group that played hard. Nike, The Future, Shooting Stars and the Wildcats will all do well in the State AAU Next week in Memphis. Results Brentwood YBOA: 1. Wildcats 2. Future 3. Shooting stars 4. Nike Are any of these teams strong enough to upset the YOMCA team next week??
  10. I watched the Parker kid play tonight and he is even better than I thought. He has developed quit a bit of foot speed and quickness this makes him very diffiicult to guard. He sees the court as good as any kid in his age group and is shooting the ball well. If he continues to work hard he will be a great high school point guard.
  11. Highflyer, Who does Marcus play? Why do you say he is the best?
  12. Here we go again. As a member of the Williamson County Wildcat program. I would like to say that we as a team our parents/players were not involved in any of the Internet trash talking. Some person or persons were trying to stir things up. Secondly we are not intimidated by the Future their players or any trash talking that might take place. We are not intimated by any team in this state for that matter we will compete and play hared win or lose. The Future won the first game on the court period (no excuses). This just makes us more motivated. Our kids understand the areas that we need to improve in. This is just a game between 13-14 year old kids. Leave it at that!!! The Wildcats have nothing negative to say about the Future or any other u13 team in Nashville!! Good luck to all the teams and coaches who have worked very hard. Additionally if you are not from the Wildcats why talk about us? If you decide to anyway make sure you mention that you’re not affiliated with our program. The first post was from a parent or coach from one of the other teams in the tournament. I hope this thread does not degenerate like the last one on this subject did I have nothing else to say about this stuff.
  13. Guys, Lets hear your predictions and tell us why keep it positive. I have seen every team except Mid State Ballerz and they are all good. Four of the teams that have qualified for AAU state will be participating.
  14. Guys, I must agree with Airnike if you want to get this changed complain to the people who can do something about it. If your game was called as bad as some I have seen in Knoxville providing game tape may be helpful.
  15. Sky, The YBOA substate is this weekend in Brentwood. The Nike team will be there along with the Wildcats, Future and Shooting stars. If you guys just had bad sub-state sign up it will give you a chance to beat some of the teams you have been talking about.
  16. Airforceone, Robert is a great point guard. However Parker is a much better passer (no comparison) and Henley is much more difficult to guard and a much better creator. Since they all have different strengths it really depends on what you’re looking for. I would take Henley first because of his size and strength. He is a very difficult kid to pressure. At times he is an excellent passer he still needs to work at passing sooner and keeping his head up. However because of his unusual blend of speed, power and size he is definitely my first pick for the U13 point guard. Additionally he sometimes leads his team in rebounding and can take any guard that I have seen down to the low post and create a very difficult match up.
  17. In no particular order. Josh Henley Wildcats (Josh can play 1,2,3 and Josh is the youngest player on my list he is only 12 and should be considered one of the top players in several positions) Robert Ellison Future (more of a two guard shots the ball well) Daniel Parker Nike I haven't seen Nathan Wade play since last summer. I heard he did very well this year for the MBA middle school team. The kid from the shooting stars did not do well in any games I have watched him play. Maybe he just had off games.
  18. Guys, There is an eight grader at BA Ty Ford who is running 11.2 11.1 hundred meters. Now who is going to dominate the state.
  19. TnBball, Where did you get your information I have not heard anything about this. Is this just a rumor??? If anyone knows anything lets hear it.
  20. The Nike team beat the Nashville Stars in overtime to win the sub-state.
  21. Bad, Do you know anything about the YOMCA u13 team?
  22. 1 [Edited by btexpress on 4-30-03 6:47P]
  23. Dank, Are the Chattanooga Steam u13 participating? Do they have all their players back from last year?
  24. Has any one seen these teams play? Who are their goto players? I have heard that the Elite is better than YOMCA this year [Edited by btexpress on 4-30-03 9:43A]
  25. I agree YOMCA has to be the favorite going into the State. The bulls may not be the same team without coach Jefferson who was a great coach and is missed by all of us who competed against him. Vet tell us about YOMCA who is back from last years team how do the look this year? What about Memphis elite?
