"The district has already laid off 12 teachers and 23 educational assistants." I'm sure he didn't meet with the players during the dead period.

Didn't MP beat Summertown twice in the district tournament and claim the championship? Don't those count as wins?

Week Zero they will be playing at Mt. Pleasant.

A risk would have been allowing you to play when you were on the team. It's obvious you don't know what you are talking about. Go get your education and start coaching football. There are numerous openings. Win 50 games in 5 years. Then we will listen to your opinion.

Coach Smith has won over 50 games in his five year career at MP. The year before he arrived the team was 0-10. I put my trust in his decision. Besides that I've watched the Tigers play the last few years. I haven't seen anyone to put at QB. Last year JCS was better than MP. It didn't matter what position Marco Dailey played. Coaching didn't beat the Tigers. A better team did. Remember, no other team beat them in the playoffs. Using your logic then if a team loses it was because a coach used his players in the wrong position. My opinion says you are wrong. Again, win or lose, I'll take Coach Smith's decision on how to best use his personnel. He's averaged 10 wins a season over five years. How many coaches in this state can say that?

You haven't been around that program for long. When they were Columbia Military Academy during the 70's, they did fire a cannon every time they scored. It didn't happen much back then either. BTW, get your poop ready.

I have read the last two pages of this thread. It seems that nobody wants to discuss the game between Mt. Pleasant and Huntland. Either we have to argue about the Collinwood game or we have two guys that don't feel warm and fuzzy about each other anymore. If everyone is looking for a group hug, pick another thread. I want to discuss the game. This is a big game for the Tigers. They have to bounce back from a tough defeat. Huntland may not be at the top of the Region 6 standings but they always play tough football. The Tigers have to make the long journey to the "Hive" where the Hornets would love to sting them. Can the Tigers rebound? I think yes. If you want to discuss the game please post. If you have another agenda, just shut down your computer.

"Eye of the Tiger" is played by the band every time the team scores. Apparently you have heard it several times. Have you ever heard of tradition? If you don't want to hear that song, just keep them from scoring.

Please read this in context. It is throughout the entire board. It is 31 straight REGION games. Everyone knows MP lost to JCS last year and to Lewis County this year. In fact they lost their first two games at the start of last year. Those do not count in region standings. I will repeat it, 31 straight REGION games.

If he was tackled behind the line 12 times, that is included in his personal stats. Sack or no sack it counts against him. So think about this, he must be pretty good to have 12 of his carries be for a loss and he still gained over 120 yards. And that was against a very good defense. The final touchdown was scored with 1:10 to go in the game and it was from about the 5 yard line. Do you really think the game was in jeopardy without the final touchdown? But if MP doesn't like it I agree with you. Just stop it. The final score was with #17 going around the right end. It's not like that was the first time that play was run.I must not have seen the helmet in the chest. My bad. That was uncalled for. The coach took care of that. Just curious, when did you graduate from Central?

The complaint with many of the posters is that Marco Dailey runs the ball every play. There are no other options. According to these stats, the Tigers had 46 plays and he ran the ball 22 times. That's less than 50% of the time. That is no where close to all of the time.

The last series LC had a 19 point lead with 1:10 to go. It doesn't take a lot of class to decide to put in the second string and take a knee at that time. But not all of the second string was in. First string linemen were still in. If you call a defensive lineman pushing the tackle into the quarterback a cheap shot, I will agree with you. Did you see what the MP coach did? He immediately pulled the kid that did this. BTW, you couldn't have chunked it to the end zone. The quarterback didn't have the arm for that. Just kidding. I think LC is probably the best team MP will play this year. But looking at your region doesn't scare anybody. You have your share of cupcakes there too.

If these stats are correct then Marco was held below his average of last year. But he was not shut down. That is 5.77 yards per carry. That is not an average player. LC was the better team. There is no doubt. But there were times during the second half that there was some concern from them and their fans. It's not like MP never challenged them. It was an exciting game. LC needs to let it go and look toward the WC Wildcats. If they win they will be 2-0 against single A teams. They should be happy with that. MP should move on and prepare for Fairview. If they win they will be 1-1 against AA teams. They should be happy with that. Good luck to both teams.

CLASS? Was it the classy thing to call a timeout after they recovered the onside kick? Class would have been taking a knee inside the 5 yard line with a little over a minute to go. They had a two touchdown lead. Why did you need a third? Because it looks better perhaps? That's not class.

The second half will be played at 7:30. The MP people probably don't care if you are there or not. You definitely are no fan. You WUZ 63 but anyone can wear a jersey. That's all you ever did.
