Nobody knows anything about Mcewen girls? I have heard so much about their boys, just curious about the girls team.

Is this website to try and figure who everyone is or to talk about basketball? Here lately all a few people are doing is trying to guess who each other is. I can't honestly believe that Bruce Slatten said those horrible things to the team, but maybe he has hit bottom and is trying something different to motivite then because obviously his old tricks aren't working. I still can't imagine him saying things like that to his players, give the man some credit, its not like everyone in the state of TN hates him. He has quite a few fans in Perry County who would love to have him back. I'm not saying he's perfect, but NONE of us are. I usually don't type on here because I am from West Tennessee and I do not like to comment when I don't know a lot about the topic, but I know Slatten. If he was half as bad as some people made him out to be, he would still be a better man than most.

I was just wondering who coaches Wayne Co. or if they still have the same one they have had for years.

HOW IS MCEWEN GIRLS DOING THIS YEAR? THERE HAVE BEEN NO POSTS ON THEM SO FAR, WHO ARE THEIR COACHES?

Well all I can say is,its about time McEwen had a winning team, most of their past teams couldn't beat some middle schools. Good for them, also why are there no posts about McEwen girls on the girls site? Do they have a girls team? [Edited by Hoopngal on 12-12-02 9:44P]

I thought this site was supposed to be about basketball, not bashing coaches and players? They get enough of that on a daily basis, from people who have enough guts to say these comments to their face, not type them on some basketball website. Being from Perry Co. also, I know Slatten is an excellent coach, he will take whatever he has at White Co. and make the most of it. Just give him time, he will surprise you, he sure surprised us. Last but not least, if you think you can do a better job, go to college, get your degree, and coach White Co. yourself!

Ktown, you think you know so much about perry co., but if Hason was the only good,tall kid they had, how hard could it be to stop him. Bottom line, you don't know squat about what Slatten did at PErry Co. if you did, you would be giving him a little time to get his team together. Did you know that when Perry Co. with tall Kirk Haston won the state tourney, that they also beat the AA state champs during the season, do you think tall Kirk Haston did that all by himself? I don't think so. Slatten is a very hard working coach, he just needs time to get his program together.

Thanks for backing me up about all the negative remarks about the coaches. I do not know a lot about the Sparta team, but I have heard that Slatten-only 5 years went undefeated and won a state championship, with that kind of experience under his belt, he and the boys, in time will be ok. Keep your heads up guys, it will get better.

I agree, when Marshall Co. gets it together, everyone better watch out. It is hard to get a team fully prepared when 4 or 5 of the best players have been playing football and missing out on practice time with the team. I also feel that Qualls is getting some flack about losing the first few games, but by tourny time, they will be rolling!

Do you know for a fact that he got fired, or did he move on to better things, and they scored 27 pts., big deal, can the coaches shoot the ball for them? By the way do you know anything about Slatten, I mean before he came to WHite Co. or Cleveland? I'm sure his overall wins vs. losses would surprise you and shut up a lot of the negative comments I have been hearing about him. When a team loses, it's not all the coaches fault. I was just wondering what people in White County think about the coaches and how they are doing this year. I have heard lots of negative things about slatten, and I was wondering if the people that are making those remarks know anything about him or the way he coaches bball?!
