  1. im not sure why we dont state the definite. hamilton is probably all but one or two.
  2. yeah, dyer co. is nice, with the central scoreboard, but that whole school is exremely nice. my only problem is the fact that the gym seems so dark. you ever noticed that? i dont know if its the floor or something else, but it just seems dark in there.
  3. this is a little off, but i always liked oman arena even if it is a little old. JCM used to host home games there when i was playing. now it is more of an entertainment center when i dont know maybe a few thousand can attend. they do use it for basketball of course, but not for one consistent team. bolivar has played there, and it hosts the NAIA national tourney. they may have district or region tssaa tourneys there. it is old school, but there is something about going there with just an average 2 or 3a size crowd for a good game. it makes the game feel a little bit more... big time i guess. and before any northwest teams are able to play in the boro, i think they should go to places like that. so they are ready for the fed ex forum, gaylord, or college arenas across the state. always a fun place for our northwest teams to visit when there is just a little more than tumbleweed in this area if you know what im sayin...
  4. today around 230 we flipped for first seed in the district 13aa over crockett co. the pairings are NOT OFFICIAL, BUT... 1)Dyersburg 5)Obion Co 4)Gibson Co 6)Dyer Co. 3)Westview 7)Milan 2)Crockett Co.
  5. heyguys,update... liberty controls ae the whole 2nd half until the final 5 minutes when ae snuck back in. at 1 point i think liberty led as many as 14. ltm wins by 2 69-67
  6. student at mtsu (murfreesboro). former student of the small northwest tennessee dyersburg trojans. couldnt be there for the oakland game. wish i could have been there. i will be back for the mj game! congrats to a school that has been to the state tournament 3 times in the past 15 years. you see it is a little easier when year in and out when you have 5 aaa schools in town that have a shot to win region. dyersburg dosent have this luxury. better yet, how about they are the only aaa (next year aa) school within 40 miles (jackson). the unknowns that just refuse to lose. lets also not forget to mention the fact that dyersburg has 900 students. about half the size of oakland or riverdale. mount juliet is doing what everyone (including myself) expected them to do... win. so dyersburg has a tall mountain to climb for the state championship... which, by the way is our first ever (girls or boys) basketball state championship game. i look at the past 15 years, and i see holden, maddox, mitchell, johnson, shaw, ozment, etc. and i hope that strayhorn, bartlett, ozment, pike, and so on will pull through one final game. but then i think about mt juliet and just seeing that #2 (nationally) in front of their name, and i wonder just how this one will go. i can see a really close dyersburg or mt juliet win, a mt juliet blowout (mt juliet beat the same team dyersburg did...but by 34), and that is it. dont worry though trojan fans. you have already done what no one else thought that you could do. and murfreesboro will become just as farmiliar to you as it is to myself (THE LOS PORTALES OF MURFREESBORO IS LAS PALMAS ON OLD FORT PRKWY) in the coming years as you drop to AA. so congrats to what you have accomplished in what will be your "last hoorah through AAA". I WAS THERE IN 1992 2001 AND I WILL BE THERE TOMORROW. GO TROJANS!!!
  7. im sorry, it was just a joke. i couldnt help it. id like to know the score too, im just keeping the thread near the top.
  8. anyone picking up 94.3 near jackson or Dyersburg?
  9. jackson northside vs Dyersburg, please update the score as often as possible. the game starts at 7:30 at the burg. if you can get the game broadcast online, let me know!
  10. what about middle and east tennesse broadcasters? who does the best job in that area?
  11. i would like to give a little credit to the radio personalities that really excite their listeners. i am going to be coaching high school ball after i graduate from middle, and i have been all over the state listening to radio broadcasts statewide. i love it right around tournament time when the radio waves blare with enthusiasm from hometown announcers. mtsu has decent coverage of their football and men's basketball games, but my hometown high school media crew deserves a shout out because i really didn't appreciate GREAT in depth media coverage until i lost it. so here is to charles dawson (play by play) and jerry edwards (color) of Dyersburg high school on wlsq 94.3. these guys deserve a lot of credit considering they have full time jobs, and manage to cover the trojans like a blanket. charles is a long time friend of the family, and a die hard kentucky wildcat fan. heck, he even named his dog "caywood" after caywood ledford the long time voice of the uk cats basketball program. charles is constantly in contact with Dyersburg coaches, talks with them on air, and attends the athletic banquets after the end of the season. now i know that i live in murfreesboro now, and this town has 4 AAA schools. the coverage is more of a collective effort, and you do not get coverage of one team all year. but the guys at am1450 do a good job. i will say that i have heard plenty of games announced throughout the state, and i beleive that i was lucky enough to have the best in the state in two categories, best overall coverage, and most on air enthusiasm in the state. but let's give all of these guys credit. i want to know the announcers that do the best job in the state in coverage and enthusiasm!
  12. brown wont let it happen again. good luck in the district fellas.
  13. PICK ANY MEMPHIS SCHOOL, AND YOULL HAVE YOUR ANSWER. IM NOT FROM THERE, BUT I KNOW AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSE IN WEST TENNESSEE, THAT THE ROAD TO STATE GOES RIGHT THROUGH MEMPHIS. PERIOD. AND THE GUESS ABOUT CBHS IS PROBABLY CORRECT IF THEY PLAY HALF MEMPHIS TEAMS, ALONG WITH THE UNQUESTIONABLY TOP TEAM OF THE ENTIRE STATE MBA.
