Nicole Smith then had 2 kills to put Page up 23-22, but Clippard then answered with a kill to tie the game at 23 all. Page was then called for a lift - the only one called in the game - and Clippard ended the game with a kill at 25-23. The difference in this game appeared to be service errors as Page had 3 and Ensworth had none as attack errors were even at 9 and total positive points were close as Page had 14 and Ensworth had 13. In game 2, Ensworth led most of the game as their attack was led by Clippard with 5 kills followed by Jamie Allsmiller with 4. Katie Guthrie led Page's attack with 4 kills followed by Nicole Smith with 3. Errors also were a factor as Page had 11 total with 2 SE while Ensworth only had 7 with 1 SE. The game ended at 25-16 on a kill by Ensworth's Margaret Anne Moore. In game 3, Page won 25-15 as Nicole Smith had 3 kills and 2 blocks and Ensworth had 14 Attack Errors. Page led the entire game and finally got 2 aces by Katie Guthrie and Jennifer Sorensen against the tough serve receive of Ensworth. Page only made 3 AE and the game ended on a kill by Nicole Smith Game 4 was the most exciting of the night as Page won 30-28 as Nicole Smith had an astonishing 16 kills. Ensworth seemed in control as they led most of the game, but at 23-15 Ensworth, Page started a run where Nicole Smith had 4 kills and Danielle Mitchell had a block as Page went up 24-23. The game went back and forth being tied or each team ahead by only 1 point, until at 28 all, Page's Nicole Smith had 2 successive kills as Page took the win to send the match to game 5. Game 5 and the match went to Ensworth as they took the early lead at 5-1. Page made 3 attack errors to put Ensworth up 9-2. Although Nicole Smith had 4 kills down the stretch to put Page within 3 points at 12-9 Ensworth, Page couldn't close the gap as the game ended on a kill by #10 Clippard at 15-9. Match Totals: Page - 55 kills, 3 blocks, 4 aces - 36 AE, 7 SE Ensworth - 54 kills, 8 blocks, 3 aces - 39 AE, 2 SE
  3. I assume you are ranking Eagleville ahead of Page even though Page has beaten Eagleville 3 times head-to-head. Get serious.
  4. Here is how the top 5 look going into these final regular season district quad matches: 1 Brentwood.......11-1 2 Centennial.........9-3 3 Ravenwood........8-4 4 Independence....7-5 (IHS has 2 wins over Franklin head-to-head) 5 Franklin.............7-5 Final quad matches: At Independence: 4:00 PM - Independence vs Ravenwood and Brentwood vs Hillwood 5:30 PM - Independence vs Hillwood and Brentwood vs Ravenwood At Centennial: ?? PM - Centennial vs Hillsboro and Franklin vs Overton ?? PM - Centennial vs Overton and Franklin vs Hillsboro The best matches of the day will be at Independence at 4 PM with IHS facing Ravenwood and at 5:30 PM with Brentwood facing Ravenwood. I would think that the other matches at both sites should go to the higher ranked teams.
  5. Thanks, VBD. I slightly edited your entries to show Pool # and neutral location - in your case Blackman on Friday. I will check for errors this morning in the rest of the schedules. There should be 48 matches for Friday night in the 1st round of pool play. The Friday Pool Matches are now on the scoreboard for Friday, Oct. 5 and on each teams' schedules. Note that there are Pools 1 thru 4 on both sites - Blackman and Siegel - so it looks a little confusing on the scoreboard. Please refer to each teams' schedules for location of their pool play matches. I am undecided at this point if I will make any of the matches due to my broken foot so I hope that results will be posted. I don't know if I will be able to enter the Sat. Pool matches or not unless I get all of the results for Friday. Placement in the Sat. Pools depends on Friday's Pool results. Sat. Pool play starts at 8 AM at both sites with Pools A and E having 1st place teams from Friday's Pool Play, Pools B and F with 2nd place teams, Pools C and G with 3rd place teams, and Pools D and H with 4th place teams. Pools A, B, E, and F will be seeded into the Gold Bracket at Blackman and Pools C, D, G, and H will be seeded into the Silver Bracket at Siegel based on their Sat. Pool results. Bracket play at both sites starts at 3 PM with the Championship matches scheduled for 7 PM.
  6. I have received the schedule from KCDaddy and will attempt to add the Friday Pool Matches to the teams' schedules. I will edit any existing "TBA" entries to the actual matches and add the rest starting tonight. There could be some duplications, but I can edit those to Sat Pool Matche or bracket matches if necessary. Wish me luck.
  7. Thanks for the pool lineup, by03. It looks like this tournament will be simliar in format to the Choo Choo where you must finish either 1st or 2nd in your Friday pool to make the Gold Bracket. A team must be ready to play on Friday and win that 1st match.
  8. Thanks, flyinghigh50. By my count, that's 32 teams. I wonder what the pool lineup looks like?
  9. sorry, p4k, I only posted what was shown on the scoreboard for Friday, Oct 5, the first day of the Mid TN Classic. Those matches probably appear because they were originally shown of the TSSAA schedules that I entered from the teams' schedules. I do not have any info on the Mid TN Classics at all. I was hoping someone who has the schedule would show the final line-up of teams. I do not know if any teams have dropped out late or early, but I would imagine that some have as has happened it most every tournament this season.

  12. Scores from Ravenwood: Franklin over Ravenwood 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 24-26, 17-15) - What a match!!!! Centennial over Hillwood 3-0 (25-6, 25-16, 25-12) Centennial over Franklin 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-11) Ravenwood over Hillwood 3-0 (25-6, 25-2, 25-12) The Franklin/Ravenwood match was certainly the best of the night as the teams went back and forth the entire match. Ravenwood appeared to be in control in game 5 with a 14-10 lead, but Franklin fought back to win the game and match. I'll update the standings completely when I get all the results from Overton, but we do know that Brentwood won over Independence 3-1.

Bracket play starts at approximately 2 PM Tie-Breaking Procedure: 1. Match Record 2. Head-to-Head 3. If three teams are tied: a. Game percentage b. Point Differential of all games played 4. If three teams are tied and only two are allowed to advance, the 1st place team will advance, and one 25 point playoff game will be played between the 2nd and 3rd seeded teams based on the above formula.
  14. Thanks, VballBruins. I hope to be able to come to some more matches soon. Here are the current standings (9-26) for 11-AAA, as best as I can tell: 1 Brentwood.........9-1 2 Centennial.........7-3 (has tie-breaker edge over Ravenwood with earlier win over Brentwood) 3 Ravenwood........7-3 4 Independence....6-4 (has tie-breaker edge over Franklin with 2 head-to-head wins) 5 Franklin.............6-4 6 Hillsboro............3-7 7 Overton.............1-9 (I think Overton and Hillwood has split head-to-head - not sure about games won) 7 Hillwood.............1-9 The final quad match will be Tues., Oct 2 with sites of Independence and Centennial. At Independence: 4:00 PM - Independence vs Ravenwood and Brentwood vs Hillwood 5:30 PM - Brentwood vs Ravenwood and Independence vs Hillwood At Centennial: ? Centennial vs Hillsboro and Franklin vs Overton ? Centennial vs Overton and Franklin vs Hillsboro Still a lot to be decided as far as teams 2 thru 5 are concerned.

I have to keep my foot elevated to reduce the swelling that has developed today (Wed). Someone please post the results here or or the scoreboard.

  17. I could not make this tournament due to the Page JV Tournament being held at the same time, but in my past experiences with Father Ryan and its tournaments, I felt they were good. There have been a lot of tournaments this season where late dropouts have forced schedule changes at the last minute. There have times when I've gone to tournaments with one schedule only to find that changes had been made when I arrived at the site. It's unfortunate for teams, coaches, and fans that this happens, but you must accept it and play as best you can. As for volunteer line judges, I have always been against it. I wish there was money available to have certified officials doing lines, but that will probably never happen. I have seen inattentive players, parents, and others miss calls several times this season. I even saw some line judges recently at a Page match that didn't make any calls at all and the lines were called from the chair. I kept looking for calls on close balls, but none were made and the judges simply stood there and looked to the chair for the call. This is not acceptable to me as why would you even be on the court if you're just going to stand there.

  21. I will post the results later tonight. Note that these JV matches will not be on the scoreboard since only Varsity matches should appear there.
  22. Please post results if you know them or enter them on the scoreboard. I believe Independence beat Franklin, but don't know the others.
  23. Yes, play4keeps, Nicole Smith is back after a couple of injuries had her sidelined since the Choo Choo Tournament. She suffered a slight dislocation of her left knee cap on Fri., Sept. 7 when she landed wrong after a kill. After she went to the doctor about that injury, it was discovered that she had suffered a concussion in a collision with another Page player 2 or 3 weeks previously. She had been complaining of headaches, dizzyness, and unstable balance, but the condition went undiagnosed until a subsequent doctor finally detected the problem. Page Coach Mindy Stone wanted to make sure that she was ok before returning her to the lineup, but when I saw Nicole dressed last night before the match with Spring Hill, it was a good sign. I asked Coach Stone if Nicole was going to play and she said she would see how Nicole looked in warm-ups before using her in the match. I thought she looked good in warm-ups, but she did not play in the 1st game and I became concerned again. Nicole did start game 2 and Coach Stone took her out after a few points to check her condition. Nicole returned mid-way through the 2nd game and finished strongly. Her play was equally good in game 3 and she should be in top form for Page's next match on Mon., Sept. 24 with county rival Independence.

The game ended on a kill by Dre Townsend at 25-12 Nicole Smith rejoined the Page lineup with her appearance in Games 2 and 3 and led the Page attack with 12 Kills on the night. Katie Guthrie had 4 Kills, 3 Blocks, and 4 Aces and Dre Townsend had 8 Kills and 2 Aces for the match. Both Cassidy Smith and Chelsea Rion led Page's serving with 4 Aces each and Jessica Green had 3 Aces.
