"Super" krich and tdog may never be a Connie Chung, Dan Rather or even Johnny Woods but at least they fight for some press in the local paper for the Lady Rangers. The girls program is improving and beginning to get some recognition and maybe in 3-4 years they will have enough support in the community to get accurate info sent after each game.

Coacht We have seen the #1 USA Today team go down in defeat and many others have their dreams of a perfect season put to bed. Most every team has played in some kind of tip-off or round robin tournament by now, using your wealth of knowledge and never ending supply of posts would you please provide us with your girls basketball top picks in the great state of TN.

What is the numbers for each class in TN?

I am not going to make this post very long, but I thought it would be a nice ending to a long season for every senior girl who has played her last game or will have by March 15, 2003, win or lose. I have seen every girl˜s game the Unaka Lady Rangers have played this season (the good & the not-so-good) and would like to complement the only 2 seniors on the team this season. They have fought through injuries and tough times all year long and are really a CLASS ACT. They may never play in college or the WNBA but it has been a great pleasure to watch you girls light up the floor with your smiles, good sportsmanship, and leadership by example of how to play hard, not to mention the numerous 3˜s. Congratulations on a GREAT 4 YEARS. Notice the Smiley faces look like TWINS

That takes a lot of Class to apologize for her team (I call it her team because I feel she is the leader. Not sure how to take the door slamming statement :confused: Was that a figure of speach or someone with no class? Either way Congrats to the Lady Landers you girls still seem to have the difference. But the margin is getting closer each time. GREAT GAME

What was the score?

Mad, I have seen the gym packed in middle TN for girls games only. Livingston had the house packed during the Christmas Tourney. I have a girl who plays and have seen Unaka's fans cheer for them. But I have to admit it is hard to understand when Boys parents ask for and incourage fan support for the Boys and sit silent while the girls play. I guess they need to rest just like the cheerleaders for the BIG Boys Games.

out4blood Before you begin classifying coaches maybe you need to look at the definition of the word coach. According to Webster "Consistancy" is not in the definition. Let me tell you a short story about coachken1 and see if this helps shed some light. Almost five years ago while coaching at the middle school level he had a kid who went to summer camp and came to all the summer practices, then the last day of summer before school was to start back left and went to another area school and gave no reasons. That was hard to take for coachken1 cause this kid was a stud at that level and would be greatly missed. But life went on and I happened to be standing in the middle school gym where he coached after the 2nd or 3rd game of the year as everyone was leaving and a young middle school kid (that no longer played for him and never would again) came and ask ˜coach could you help me with my shot?˜ and as I left the gym that night the coach and former player was working on his shot. I gained a lot of respect for coachken1 that night and that would never show in the WIN/LOSS records when his stats are complied one day but that is ˜What makes Coach Chambers one of the best coaches in the area˜ I˜m sure there are similar stories about Matt and Les and maybe a thread should be dedicated to ˜coaches off the bench˜ I agree with the Paperboy split at home is likely and Milligan should be exciting. To all of the coaches and refs in the stands (I have been one too) we all need to read the thread that is on here about SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAMS. A little razzing is good for the soul sometimes I'll admit but sometimes we find ourselves getting carried away and saying harmful things that we really don't know to be ture, but sure makes for a HOT topic. Support all your local teams!!!!

The loss @ Pickett was to a good team and Cosby was to the officals (based on the number of foul shot attempts by both). I agree no floor general. You can't appoint one and if no one is willing to step up. What do you do? The Hughes girl for Cloudland last year may not have scored as many points as other, may not have rebounded as much as others, or had as many steals BUT the leadership she gave made all the difference in the world. Unaka sure could use a leader to guide the wealth of talent they have.

The last thread about your girls was getting out of hand. May be why it had to go. I think the Rangers are doing well this year however, last year was a great accomplishment and not to take anything from them, they are still very young for the most part. Being unselfish, working hard, good coaching, not getting intimidated and a little luck wouldn˜t hurt, they may go to State this year. Anyway I wish them well!!!

Division 1, Class A District 7, Region 4 Division 1, Class A District 1, Region 1 Both have some of the strongest teams. Should be a good match up.

Cloudland and Unaka has been pretty hot in the past. Last year Cloudland won at home for the first time in a long dry spell. They may not be willing to wait as long again.
