  1. I know Kara and she would think that this kind of compliment is worth more than any soccer award she could ever recieve.

You may as well give it up. It will not matter how many times the little town of Tullahoma makes it to the final four, they will never get any respect from the larger city schools. I am not sure why one team has to play just like another team in order to win with respect. Small towns and schools do not have the luxury of an entire team of club players. Some barely have enough players for a JV and the ones that play club drive an hour and a half each way plus 2 hours of practice. That is a 5 hour investment at least 3 days a week on school nights. You ask the kids in Franklin, Memphis etc to do that for 6 years and see what kind of dedication you get. You do what you have to do with what you have on the bench. . If that means putting your strikers in mid field and some of your mid field in defense, then that is what you do. It is called strategy. Everyone on all the teams played their hardest. Some teams had different strategys than others, sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. Give everyone their due congrats.
  3. Started this thread to flag whether TSSAA would have better refs as the play got better. Shelbyville and Tullahoma rematched yesterday and the refs there were able to pick it up a bit. They caught many dives and sly elbows etc. So it's good to know that maybe the quality of refs can be improved on in middle tennessee. As a side note. During the game the Columbia athletic director was picking up noise makers----what's up with that!
  4. Thought I would be first on the block to comment on one of the most interesting games I've seen in Middle Tennessee. Two very talented teams that were taking the game to a faster level and the refs were definitely not able to keep up. Players were taking defensive dives in line of play; successfully stopping forward progress and getting calls in their favor. The calls only managed to make fair play less favorable and soon it escallated out of control. When these teams meet again hopefully someone can get a more talented group of refs used to the faster play.
  5. I believe that last year TACA All State team came out around the end of November and the TSWA All State team was announced mid Dec.
  6. Not only has Tullahoma been to the final four 6 years in a row, they also brought home second place in 2002. Are you from Tennessee?
  7. I could not find any info as to when the All State Team is announced. I did find out that there are two but not sure which means what. One is from: Tennessee Sports Writers Association and the other is from: Tennessee Athletics Coaches Association Can anyone explain the difference or the importance of each one?
  8. Farragut seemed to use their speed and skill, especially in the middle where the field is so nasty. This could slow this part of their style of play down. When I watched Houston,(granted, I only saw the second half) they seemed to use the outsides a lot where the field is in decent shape. Thus the comment about the rain. Just an observance from an outside viewer. Best of luck to both teams. Good news is that both teams bring home some type of hardware to be proud of!!
  9. I would say Farragut 2 Houston 1, unless it rains. That could slow Farragut down and it could be anyones game.
  10. Congrats to Tullahoma for a great season. You did well!!! Congrats also to Farragut. They are a talented team and deserve to be in the finals. The only drawback (I know this will cause some flack) is their lack of professionalism in their appearance. Warming up in sports bras was a little on the sophomoric side. Also, who in their right mind gives an interview with a newpaper professional in their bra? That is just wrong. Other than that, they played extremely well and will more than likely win state. Good luck to both Houston and Farragut this Saturday.
  11. Last goal by Tullahoma assisted by Kara Adams
  12. Per TSSAA page http://www.tssaa.org/2004Champions/StateGSoccer/AAAState.htm Houston 5 Ooltewah 0
  13. I would just like to wish every team going to the State playoffs the best of luck. No matter what the outcome, be proud of what you have accomplished up to this point. The road may have seemed tougher for some than others, but each of you did what you needed to do to get here and you deserve to be where you are. Good luck again, and dont get hurt out there!!!!!!
  14. I have it from a reliable source that McMinn was playing a 3-5-2 most of the game.

Tullahoma wants to wish Shelbyville "GOOD LUCK" in their game against Ooltewah! I think they have a great chance of winning. It would be fantastic to see these two small town (Tullahoma and Shelbyville) teams make it to the Elite Eight. What an accomplishment for this district, who at times barely has enough girls to field a team, unlike the larger areas who actually have tryouts and cuts and a bench full of girls that have the luxury of strong club teams in their own neighborhoods for further training. The high school girls on these two teams that play club are extremly dedicated to their sport and raising the level of play locally. Having to travel an hour to an hour and a half each way to practice during the club season shows how much they love the game. GO GET UM TULLAHOMA AND SHELBYVILLE!! Best of luck to all the other teams out there too
  16. I dont think the calls this week would have changed any of the games outcomes but I do agree that the Refereeing was sub-par. Especially off sides calls. We had a player on our team that was about 3 yards off sides and it was left uncalled in a game and then we had a player clearly on-sides that was not called back until she was about half way to the goal. I think the ref was in slow motion or something. Like I said, I dont think the outcome would have been different and I know off sides is fairly difficult at times but we really expected a little more.
  17. Just got a phone call and Franklin is already up 2-0 in the first 20 min. PK in the box and a goal after a Hendersonville defender was down on the ground for awhile with no stoppage of play.

  19. My bad-------the score was 3-2 Tullahoma.
  20. Just finished watching the Oak Ridge Tullahoma game. What a cat fight. When into sudden death (second set of overtimes). Tullahoma won 2-1 can you believe it!!! Sweeeeet (The underdog wins)
  21. Of course I am biased but you have to remember that 4 of the Tullahoma starters were freshman last year. They do have one more year under their belt which always helps. I certainly would not want to be the one to look every girl in her face and tell her that after working hard, practicing hard, playing hard and winning games plus traveling one and a half hours one way three days a week in the off season to play club soccer for improvement that they do not deserve to be where they are. If it is a matter of a small town school amoungst big city schools, then maybe tssaa should re-vamp the AAA class that the small towns are in. I dont know what the solution is but EVERYONE deserves a chance and the ones that are there are there for a reason. It is one thing to beat teams when you have such a large pool of players. but it is a definite accomplishment to beat teams when you can barely field a team! It would be great to quit dissing any of the teams that have made it and instead wish each and every girl on every team the best of luck. Play hard and play fair and if you dont make it any further, be proud of what you accomplished.
