  1. Well that has to be a first. Somebody taking up for CC that isn't from there. I don't know who you are or where you're from and really don't care but my point to whoever you are we have had some great players up here and they weren't all transfers from CC. I agree that we haven't had a lot of players go to the college level but everyone knows small schools don't get athletes looked at all to often. I do however disagree with our teams not being able to compete in the IMAC area of AAA. It isn't that impressive. You're right about the CCHS kids learning more than bong smoking and cow milking they also learn the meaning of jail time and crack heads. Oh and about us and handling PF... We've done a pretty good job so far!! If my memory is correct We're about 10 or 12 wins and maybe 1 or 2 losses. Since the school began. That's a pretty high percentage. If my COSBY MATH teacher taught me correctly....
  2. I would have to agree with that statement. I don't think anyone from CC has room to talk about Cosby and our basketball tradition. As far as the reasons kids leaving your school to come and play at ours is simple. Their parents don't have enough political pull to get them P/T for the AAA Powerhouse you guys have managed to build the last few years. Oh wait I had a football moment.... Darn wrong sport again. How about baseball.... No you ran off your Legendary coach... Oh yeah it's tennis your good at!!!! With a teacher/coach from COSBY and one of your best players is from COSBY CORY SMITH!!!! Let's get back to Basketball. How many points did you lose to Mo East this year if I remember correctly 17, 12, 13 and we took them to the limit twice. Once in overtime.. That is just an example of our play. Without KB you guys wouldn't average 20 points a game. He scores over 80% of your points. When you gave everyone the run down of the greats that have been at Cosby the past few years you forgot some of the best players from all over the county. Josh Webb,Matthew Raines, Kevin Frisbee, Chad Styles, Seth Rodgers, Lacy Gates, Andrew Woody, Josh Mac, Josh Williams, Blake Shults, Tyler Williams, Chris Douglas, Blake Pack, Dusty Williams, Eric Baxter, Chad Greene, Chris Gregg, Manney Moore, Josh Cutshaw, the lists go on and on I could name you names all day. Until You and your school are BIG enough to come calling on us to play don't down our past or our players. Our coaches aren't afraid of playing anyone at anyplace. So go back to the tennis courts with one of our students and one of our teachers. Thank you.
  3. I'm with you on this one goose. And I'm definetely not taking anything away from Rockwood because I know how tough they are year in and year out. And I would say Midway will feel that one a long time. I know when I close my eyes all I can think about is losing the 1st round at the boro. That's what makes us fans/athletes looking back at the losses and wishing they had turned out another way or looking back at all the wins and remembering how great those times were. I just got back from the Cosby/ Rockwood game and what an offensive struggle that turned out to be. As an Eagle fan I have to say Harvest's shot didn't get put up in time but I'm not going to make any excuses. We had our chances and couldn't ever seem to pull through and take a good lead. I wish Rockwood the best of luck. Take care of CAK and send them to Division II with a momento. As for the Big Blue, we'll be back and reloaded next year. Go EAGLES!!!!!!!!
  4. I wasn't at the game but I would agree that's a lot of action for a second and a half. You have to figure at least .7 for one dribble (another .7 if there was a second) 1.5 for a 15-20 feet pass. 1.0 at least to catch, bobble, turn and shoot. for a grand total of 3.9 by my count but like I said I wasn't there. I'm looking forward to Cosby/ Rockwood. Things like this have happened before and everyone knows will probably happen again.
  5. Hey cowboy you may need to click the edit button Cosby vs Rockwood is Region 2. And just like the past few years this matchup should be another Instant Classic. PT Sports Writer mentioned the games from '03 and I can verify from first hand experience that those were the toughest games we had all year. As far as the coaching matchup I don't see a big advantage either way. I expect that the crowd will be into this one just like always. I know I'll be there supporting the Big Blue. thumb Go Eagles!!!!!!!!
  6. Cosby advances to the second round of the region tourney with the 15 point victory over Oneida. Blakely huge for the Eagles with 20 points. Go EAGLES!!!!!!
  7. Cosby 31 Oneida 20 Rone still hot from district championship 3-4 treys in second quarter.
  8. Cosby 18 Oneida 10 End of the 1st
  9. I don't think I would call CAK's defense in the first game steller. It was smart and effective. CAK's coach made it clear in the first game who was going to have to beat them. His D didn't allow many open looks for Manning and Blakely. And the other three players in the game had to make OPEN shots and that didn't happen. Last night that plan backfired horribly. (Not saying it won't work next time) but I don't think he is going to leave Jenkins and Walker open for to many good looks. 11 combined threes by those guys. Cosby's D in the fourth quarter was pretty solid. And the four straight 3's by Walker was unreal. As I said before should be interesting matchup in the district tourney. thumb Go EAGLES!!!!!!!!!
  10. Would it be possible to make a trade and send TSmith to Ktown for anybody on UT's roster. Him and Lofton would make a good duo. Very nice dunk.
  11. The fourth quarter told the story for this game. Scott Walker (#50) turned an eight point game into a blowout. He nailed four consecutive three's in four straight trips down the floor without CAK ever scoring. It happened so fast CAK coach couldn't get a TO called until after the fourth. 14 three's for the game was correct. Jenkins 6, Walker 5, Manning 2, Young 1. As far as the lady ref and any other ref goes I disagree with her being partial. Cosby always gets refs from Newport and they don't want us to win and rarely to we get the best calls all night. In my opinion and I think the calls you are talking about were against #35 he plays just like he is in his first year of High School Basketball. With a lot of on the backs and pushes. But he is a really good first year player. thumb This should be a great matchup down the road on a neutral court at the District 3A tourney and maybe somewhere in the Region tourney as well. Go EAGLES!!!!!!
  12. well said blueeagle. great job Unaka. Cosby will be coming next year but it doesn't hurt so bad once you see you lost your last game to the state champs. Chambers is a truly great player which he showed on the shot that put them in the tourney. So the moral of my post is we had the champs beat on their home floor but great players make the plays and we didn't have enough magic at the end. Once again congradulations to the boys at the "creekonthehill"
  13. I'm listening to the game on wlik.net. It is the local radio here in Newport. Just go to listen on the left side of the page.
  14. First of all I want to say WHAT A BALLGAME!!!! Second I will say I'm proud of my boys despite the outcome. You done a tremendous job considering the amount of seniors we lost last year. The game itself was ours. We had a 10 point lead goin into the last quarter what more do we need. Turnovers and missed shots hurt us bad. And even though I don't want to say it Chambers made a good shot at the end. But to say he had the game of his life is ridiculas. He shot countless air ball and hadn't made a three all game that I can remember. BUT he made the one that counted and that's what great players are supposed to do. We were on his case all night long and it had really paid off until the end. I thought 25 and 55 hurt us way more than Chambers or Collins. We'll be back next year. (ONLY 2 SENIORS THIS YEAR). GO LADY EAGLES NOW!!!!!!!!!! OH Yeah the actions at the end by your clock keeper were terrible and he should be ashamed. He should be glad that the booth is way up above the floor. I know he wouldn't have pulled that stunt on the floor.
