  1. The game tonight has been called off due to their being 1 1/2 inches of snow in Van Buren.......call the snowplows!!!
  2. that's right Twan, she wasn't goin to be a "nightbird" as ya'll call it
  3. I haven't heard anything on the boards about Macon County so far this year? How are they doing and who have they played?
  4. Agree with you there Queen, but I still believe that it will be Gordonsville by 10!
  5. I agree. I think that showed really what kind of person he is. I know that he wanted to be out there playing but he was where he needed to be. Oh yeah......I think Gville by at least 12
  6. Although the Gordonsville girls played pretty sloppy basketball, they did a good job at keeping their heads. It was getting way to exciting in the last 2 mins with Gville making turnover after turnover. They finally got the ball down court though and made some very big baskets that secured their win. Rachel Gentry did play really well, and so did Jessie Willoughby and Jessie Winfree. Rachel stepped up tonight when we really needed her. I love seeing Willoughby come of the bench and score like she does and seeing Winfree step out of post position and drain a 3. Keep it up girls!! #33 and #25's #1 FAN
  7. Agree with you there Uncle.........maybe they will put up a little better fight than the Clay Co. boys did tonight!!
  8. Yep, at the new school, which is right beside the old school, so if you go to where the old school is and you don't see it (cause it was torn down) you'll see the new one. Entrance to the new school is on the far side of the building.
  9. I say the Tigerettes win by at least 8 this time. Gotta keep it goin!!
  10. Congrats girls!! You all played a great game. It was awesome seeing post Jessie Winfree draining two 3s!! 2nd quarter shooting was awesome!! Don't think we missed but maybe 7 shots the whole quarter!! Great job girls!! Come out the same way Tues night against Clay Co.!! GO TIGERETTES!! #33 AND #25'S #1 FAN!!
  11. Since when is Carthage having problems within the team?
  12. It will no doubt be a much better and exciting ballgame next time if BOTH teams are on their game.
  13. Heard the other day that he wouldn't even be shooting until February. So it's very doubtful he will be back. However, even though he is a tremendous athlete and a great asset to any team, I think that we are doing okay without him.
  14. Washer, Harville, Grooms, and Austin were all on their game. Washer had the best game he's had all year with about 3 or 4 blocked shots and at least 10 points. Harville fouled out yet again, but didn't get very ticked off the whole game. Grooms was making b-e-a-utiful jumpshots from around the charity stripe. Austin was handlin the ball like crazy and also hit a couple of deep 3s!! From what I've heard about RBS boys, I don't believe they were on their game. #3 missed way to many shots as well as #22. One thing is for sure though. To keep them from scoring, the basic thing you have to do is keep #22 from driving to the middle. WAY TO GO TIGERS!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!! #32 AND #33'S #1 FAN!!!
  15. Gville is a pretty good all around team. They've got guys that can drain the 3 from 3 feet behind the line and guys that can post up and be a threat downlow. Good ballhandlers and good rebounders. Guys with long arms that can pick a pocket easily. They are going to be a threat in the region this year no doubt!! They are 5-1 in regular season play. WE READY!!
  16. I'm not sure as far as the best goes, but Smith County has a pretty strong Freshman Class this year. I know that at least one maybe two are also getting a lot of varsity action. They will be pretty good with experience.
  17. Both are great teams, but the Tigers of Gville will come out on top by 4. However, what I'm lookin forward to the most is the drive!! YEAH!!
  18. Gordonsville should come out pretty good in the district this year. Although they lost 3 starters to graduation, the fundamentals are still there. The whole team is playing well. They won opening game against Clay Co., which was very unexpected. Don't count them out this year!!
  19. Don't know about you Uncle, but I was wanting to see a dunk!! Good game guys!!
  20. Congratulations to the Tigers of Gordonsville for their win against Smith County.......or should I say Carthage......tonight! Keep up the good work! I'll be prayin for you Kyle!
  21. Today, a building that was in the hearts of all the alumni at Gordonsville High School was demolished. Along with it were millions of memories. The gym was a controversal issue in the tearing down. Some people in the community wanted to keep it, while others thought it would be too much of hassel to keep up. When it was decided that the gym would go too, all that was talked about was getting a piece of the floor. Well, if you didn't get a piece before today, you are out of luck! The whole thing, floor and all, was bulldozed. For a school that was evidently in great need of money, wouldn't it have been logical to sell pieces of the floor for profit? All I am saying is that it's a shame to let something that meant so much to so many people (who would have paid good money for it) be torn down without anyone really knowing when it was going to happen. To the old Gordonsville High School..........Thank you for the memories.
  22. Just wondering everyone's opinions on this game Friday!
