midTNqb12, I have a question for you. Actually a few. 1) When you guys are practicing, are you on one side of the school and your receivers on the other, because it looked like when you would throw the ball you were trying to throw it over a building or a house or something. 2)Are you sure that was a 6-2 defense CA runs? If not, I would let your coaches know that they shouldn't trust another schools assumption on what your next opponent runs. Thanks and Good Luck the rest of the year.

You say your next opponent runs a 6-2? On Defense? If so, you should be throwing more than 8 times this game. What type of offense does your team run? What type does your next opponent run? 4.7 not a bad time in the 40 although 5-10 is a little short but not bad. 165lbs. though seems a little light to me. Does your coach think playing LB is less risk of injury than playing safety? WOW!!!! I found out today with my work schedule I will definitely be there to see you guys play this weekend. Are you looking at any specific colleges yet? No pressure so don't be nervous but I know a few coaches at the college level pretty well and if I like what I see I will let them know they should take a look at some film of you. midTNqb12, Just some food for thought. DON'T blame your receivers for all the dropped balls in a single game. Now I didn't see this game but, IF and I stress IF you only made ONE bad throw then you must be one heckuva QB, OR there weren't many passes thrown. Or there could quite possibly be a bad case of hands that were hatched in the Middle Tn area over a decade ago. Do you play defense also? Just curious is all. How tall are ya? 40 yd dash time? Weight? Just wondering because I might be near Clarksville this weekend and thought I might swing by the "P' to see you guys play and check out that arm of yours. p.s. An old coach of mine once said to me... Son don't let your alligator mouth overload your parakeet azz. You might should take this last sentence and ponder it before you get back on here talking about how great you are and how bad your teammates were in there first ever varsity game.

According to the website I looked this up under Halls did not make the play-offs from 1987-1991 and again from 1993-1994 and yet again in 2002. Can't remember the site but will look for it tomorrow and post it here if I can find it again.

Ok I have done some checking on Central and Halls past play-off experiences.Since it has been said in a qoute about the last 20 years here ya go. Central has been in ONE state final and lost and have made the play-offs 11 times in the last 20 years with a record of 18 wins and 11 losses. Halls has been in TWO state finals winning ONE and losing ONE and have made the play-offs 10 times in the last 20 years with a record of 15-9. Central has been knocked out of the play-offs 3 times in the last 20 years and Halls 4 times. So now we know a little about the last 20 years of play-offs for these two teams who has the advantage and who has been more dominant over the last 20 years?

Well considering West got pounded by Powell. And Carter got beat pretty handily by West. Halls defeated Powell. So does this mean that Halls can beat Carter and West? Should be an interesting finish to your fine Region. I might just come back to Knoxville the final two weeks to see a game or two. The way I see it, South Doyle has two chance of winning this game. 1. SLIM 2. NONE

I assume S.D. will use the excuse that their coach got caught at doing some things he has gotten away with the last couple of years. But in theory.....Do the COACHES play the game? Do they fumble the ball? Do they throw interceptions? Do they miss tackles? Are they the ones jumping offsides? The answer to each of these questions is simple...NO the COACHES DO NOT. Therefore Halls MUST have some athletes since they BEAT the CRAP outta S.D. who has MANY athletes. Just some advie to Swaffy....You might think about relocating outside the state of Tennessee if you wish to have the chance to coach again.

mj59 I couldnt agree with you more. I played for coach kirby however in wrestling not football. Coach Flatt was coach when i was there. And as far as Winfree goes ..I thought he was a decent coach. But I still believe MJ needs someone with alot of Head Coaching experience in the past, and also know a little something about MJ football. They had a chance back in 1996-1997 to hire a coach that was..a Head Football Coach, had many years experience at the Collegiate level as an assistant, and also lived in Mj for 5 years. The problem is the paysale was so low. Maybe MJHS needs to up their payscale and get a QUALITY coach. Good Luck this season MJHS BEARS

Rumor has it down here in Middle Tennessee area that Maryville DOES NOT count their vocational students.What is up with that?????????? If they count them wouldnt they be classified in 5-A then? I guess thats one way to get some state championships HUH.

I have been around Mt Juliet football since 1986 and they have not had the talent it takes to win in 5-A and haven't in a few years. Now they are in 4-A they still dont have the talent since the new school has depleted them terribly. And yes im a graduate of Mt Juliet so dont even go there about me not knowing anything about Mt. Juliet or any of that, because i still support them every Friday night win or lose. Go Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think both teams need new coaches. A coach that has been a HEAD Coach in high school with a winning reputation. One that has lived in the Mt. Juliet area or has some knowledge of Wilson Co. football. Any ideas???????

Central tops everybody on here. They recruit more than anybody. Especially in East Tennessee.

Yes Butler had ties in Clarksville. Im sure he met alot of people in the 2 years he spent in Clarksville. BUT, with Shephard, your talkin bout born and raised there, played football at AP, wife went to AP, son went to AP, coach got his masters from AP, still has lots of family from there, and knows alot of former football players from when he played, coached, and son played. Oh yes i forgot to mention he coached at the Peay with Watson Brown back in the late 70's early 80's. NOW TELL ME THIS? WHO WAS THE LOGICAL CHOICE?

Someone at AP should really look into who is making these decisions.Obviously Loose is scared he might lose money from his precious basketball team. heck his record is 8-6 and they just blown out by rival Tennessee Tech this week. Butler would not have gotten alot of support in the Clarksville community from what i have heard. I think the logical choice was Shephard. He could have gotten money, support, athletes, and put together winning seasons that AP has never had. But I guess in 2 or 3 years they will be looking for another coach so i guess the trend will just continue as long as Loose is at the helm. If anyone from AP is reading this they should really look at hiring a REAL Athletic Director. What a freakin joke this is. Naming this McCray guy is a freakin joke. Do AP officials really think this guy is the answer. How long will he stay at the Peay. My guess is 3 years or less. Didn't he basically get fired at Mississippi State this year. Oh wait I'm sorry .....he was not retained. Whats the difference HE GOT FIRED PERIOD!!!!!!!! This is a disgrace to Clarksville for sure. And not to mention a slap in the face. Would sure like to see how long this guy takes before he ticks everybody in Clarksville off just like the last coach did. Of course if he is similar to the last coach it will take him a few years before he ever makes it up to Mt Juliet High School or even to Murfreesboro. Correct me if I'm wrong but , didn't Coach Brewer play for Coach Shephard at APSU? I met the guy this past football season (I think it was Halls first game, but can't remember) when I was visiting Shep's son. He seems like a really great guy but don't know much else about him.

Nothing was in the Tennessean here in Nashville today, but I did pick up a copy of The Leaf Chronicle today and saw where he was one of six finalist. But nothing was said as to who was the leading candidate....but u would have to think Coach is right up there with the rest of the guys mentioned.

Something was in the Tennessean back in December but haven't seen anything about the job since then
