  1. i cant believe i forgot about all of those guys...sorry and congrats to them...also i don't know if anyone mentioned brandan wright for unc who could possibly be the best out of those named...just goes to show how much of a power TN is in Bball...to have representatives on 4 of the 16 final temas in the tourney is jsut a tribute to all the programs in the state.
  2. I just want to congratulate the 3 teams from TN in the Sweet 16...and especially to the 4 Memphis HS BBall Alums who are still participating: Andre Allen (BTW) and Pierre Niles (Ridgeway) - University of Memphis Derrick Byars (pride of Ridgeway High) - Vanderbilt Dane Bradshaw (White Station) - Tennessee Especially to Derrick Byars...it is so great to see him have success after all he has been through in his career and looking forward to him being drafted soon. Also a congratulations to Brandon Powell (Mitchell High) from Florida on his teams advancement to tthe Sweet 16 as well. Congrats to all these guys and GO TIGERS!!! Coach T please don't delete b/c you may think it to be a College Board topic. Thanks.
  3. what happened at the end of the game?
  4. texas beats UNC and UT can beat Ohio State if Lofton is hot, but if not then they wont...personally i want it to be UT and Mempho in the Elite 8 so my tigers can avenge that early loss.
  5. i joined to cant wait for the start...tigers all the way
  6. warning to all the people who are picking clarksville to dominate this game...not likely...the roadrunners are a good team and look out for jason jones and anthony wooten...if those 2 get hot it will be tough for clarksville to hang...sounds like it is shaping up to be a good game
  7. And Aarons not about the team? You can ask anyone who knows him and anyone who has seen him play...he is ALWAYS the first one to appreciate the O-Line after a big run or a TD...he missed 3 games in the regular season and even though all three of them were against lesser teams when we did not have to have him play he was dying to ge tout there and help the team...every time we scored in one of those games he was the first one congratulating his back-ups...he has had so much turmoil in his life it was so good Monday to see somehting go right for him...and he won the award because he DESERVED it...also you say that even though everyone knew you were running the ball, but no one knew who had it...heck everyone and their mom knew we were going to run the ball AND everyone and their mom knew who was going to get it...teams go and put 8 or 9 in the box on us and he still puts up numbers like that? no way he doesnt win.
  8. He is...5'11" 190-195 with 4.3-4.4 speed he really is a complete back...he had a touchdown run against Germantown in the playoffs when he was hit in th ebackfield, broke off, spun off one guy and ran thru another to get to the endzone...i wish the rest of the state could have gotten a chance to see him play...he was a privelege to block for last year and to watch this year. Don't worry you will get a chance to see him on Saturdays next year.
  9. because it will give an unfair advantage to the kids whose teams play deeper into the playoffs (add more stats, more exposure, etc.) and if a kid has an outstanding year, but his team is not necessarily successful, then he will not have the same advantage.
  10. Well I mean we are playing in TN and (especially in our region) no one ever threw the ball so that made getting sacks even more difficult...I'm sure Marve is a great player and wish him luck at Vandy, but I was just syaing from what I saw this year Dasmine should have won it.
  11. He wasn't even the only 2 time winner in this year's awards Golden Tate won his 2nd this year and I know Orlando Wade won it twice in the 80's. Also I was wondering if Aaron and his father Xavier Crawford ('87? winner) was the only father-son combo to win the award.
  12. and everything to do with our qb blowing out his knee in the 2nd game of the year.
  13. if crawford doesnt get hurt and plays more than 7 regular season games he has at least 1800 yards and wins it in a runaway. the kid had about as many as sterling in 2 less games and he was out of the ones he played in early bc of the lopsided scores...personally i think thomas wins it (not to say hes not deseriving, but its the riverdale factor) but if aaron didnt get hurt its his no question. also dont htink marve gets it for lineman ive got to go with cathey on this one...20 sacks just doesnt happen too often in high school football...that lb corps at wshs is waaaaaaaay overrated and it really showed in the ravenwood game...Rwood moved the ball at will against the "best lb corps in the state"
  14. that is the worst fight song i have ever heard....and you don't sing very well.
  15. Ravenwood wins this one because their line will dominate White Station's...having played against Ravenwood I know how strong that O-Line play is and their coaching staff does an excellent job of exploiting other teams' alignments, COVERAGES, etc. I would like to see the hometown team win and I think Coach Wright is one of the best around, but I just can't find it in me to go for White Station.
