Maybe people would take your posts more serious if you didn't call everybody who disagrees with you idiots or morons. I could also see your point about the high school coaches if the AAU teams in this area competed better in the states. But they don't, they usually get beat by the Memphis teams as well. I think you said in an earlier post that NE TN doesn't compete well with teams from Knoxville, Chatt, or Nashville. The teams in this area seem to play well against those teams. I know when Central went to UTC this summer they hardly lost a game. It is the Memphis teams that blow NE TN (and usually the other areas of the state) out, and unfortunately if a NE TN team makes it to the state they will always have to play a Memphis team first round because that is how they draw the brackets out.

You still wanna put Cherokee in that group?

It looks like Wes is going to be out another 2 weeks. Central's offense has improved since we played you guys 2 weeks ago. That was the first game since last year that Hess had to play in the post. Since then I think Hess is averaging a little under 30 points a game and Central has went 4-1. Also since Wes has been out it has given some of the junior players (Kaiko, Rock and Winchell) more chances to get into the offense, which is going to help a lot come tournament time. With or without Baker Central should win this game easily, but if they play like they did againist TN High then it will be a long night. I am glad that Austin is getting a chance to play at Boone. I know Austin pretty well and he has a lot of ability, but Coach Vaughn did give Austin plenty of opportunities at Central.

I agree that Bill Meade does an excellent job doing play-by-play. Its hard to believe that he sometimes does around 9 games in a row during the Arby's. But I have to disagree with you saying that Paul Overbay is terrible. I actually like hearing his sayings, as do MANY others. I have actually heard players ask someone who was not at the game, but listened to it on the radio, if Paul Overbay said one of his sayings when they hit a big shot. I think the Arby's is the only time that Paul Overbay and Bill Meade do broadcast together anymore which is very unfortunate in my opinion.

Who is the announcer that you all had awhile back that when he announced a player's name he repeated the last name twice? Is this someone who still announces but doesn't do that anymore?

Central lost their final game of the challenge today. Still not a bad showing. Central seems to be getting things back in the right direction. Baker is also supposed to be back next week.

I hope you don't think that any team in the IMAC (including Greeneville) could play with Antioch. I am wrong or does Antioch run the old "Cougar Offense" sometimes?

Moore was a senior for Westside the year that they won the Arby's classic and it was on ESPN2. I think the guy you are talking about is William Avery. He played his senior year at Oak Hill though.

You can call me all the names you want but it still isn't going to change the fact that even though the Big 9 is down (I don't really think it is down as much as it is inconsistent) Unaka would still not be a top team and they never could compete in this league. Thats the truth for you.

I think it was 94 that they showed the championship game on ESPN2 when Science Hill played Ricky Moore's team.

If THS controls the tempo againist Science Hill like they did Sullivan Central then they have a chance to knock them off. Cap1, I will have to say that your prediction about this years sophmore class is ringing true so far. It seems like every school in this area has sophmores who are contributing on the varsity.

No I think you started by saying the Big 9 is weak. The best team Unaka ever had was the 03-04 team and you STILL lost to TN High, Central and Science Hill that year. Does that not tell you something? Unaka is a great 1A, but that is it.

During the Homecoming game at Sullivan Central it was a tradition for the students to throw toilet paper on the floor after they made their first basket. The administration had been cracking down on it so it was hard for the students to bring the toilet paper into the game. So about 4 years ago the students decided to throw different objects. In this particular game the students threw cups of rice, super balls, live goldflish and one dead squirrel onto the floor.

Central needed this win against South tonight bad. Hess came back with a huge game (23 points). If anyone doesn't know, Central plays Lebanon Thursday 4pm at Virginia High.

LOL...I was just talking about that the other day! Everyone is afraid to get on here and talk smack now cause even if your team beats a team bad today, tomorrow they could be the one's getting beat bad...hehe

I wonder why you want to know how the refs did last night?

East is pretty good this year, but not that good. Central played one of the worst games I seen them play in the last 4 or 5 years and I have never seen those kids from East shoot like, except Isaac. The main thing about that game is that the kids from Central had never lost to that group from East and just thought that this game would be a cake walk. Central will be more prepared next time.

I can't believe that you want to talk about something besides who are the best refs in the area.

You're right, if teams in the Big 9 are getting beat by Unaka then it is a bad year.
